VERY GOOD BREAKFAST THE STAFF WERE VERY NICE MD HELPFUL, DESPITE THE FACT THAT THEY LOOKED THAT THEY WERW NOT EXPERIENCED. THE RENNOVATION OF THE ENTRANCE AND RECEPTION COULD BE BETTER ABD NOT SO SIMPLE

THE HOTEL SHOULD TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THAT I AM AM REPETING CLIENT AND SHOULD MAKE SOME KIND OF BETTER OFFER REGARDING THE DAYLY CHARGE. INSTEAD I HAVE BEEN 'PUNISHED' DUE TO THE FACT THAT I EXTENDED MY STAYING FROM 3 TO 4 DAYS. FOR EXAMPLE. INITIALLY MY BOOKING WAS FOR 3 DAYS ( FROM 14-TO 17/6) WITH A TOTAL CHARGE OF €469 I.E. €156.33 PER DAY FOLLOWING I BOOKED FOR 4 DAYS (FROM 13 TO 17/6) WITH A TOTAL CHARGE OF €727 I.E. €181.75 PER DAY (INCREASE ON DAYLY RATE BY €25.42 ) OR THE 4TH DAY (WHICH WAS TUESDAY ) HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH €258, INSTEAD OF €156.

The hotel is centrally located and very close to restaurants, shops, train station etc. The staff were superb. All were very willing to help and very courteous, especially the staff who served breakfast and the receptionists. The hotel is currently undergoing a renovation on the ground floor, so the breakfast was served at a nearby cafe. The breakfast staff, in particular the young man, were very welcoming and helpful. The room was large and well furnished for a short stay. I would recommend this hotel as a place to stay.

I liked staying in City Hotel Groningen: + Friendly hosts + Tidy and cozy + The bed was good (a bit too soft for me) + My room was near the elevator, but it didn't bother me at all, as it was very quiet + Great water pressure in the shower + The room was very warm but there was enough air + No problems with Wi-Fi + Easy access to all the amenities in the old city center + Fast check-in and check-out + Really good breakfast + Nespresso machine in the room 😍

It's not really something specific to the hotel itself, but to Groningen, in general: – The overall price for the room is expensive – The same's true for the parking. It would cost you at least 18 euro per night. The closest free spots near IKEA is in 15 walk

The room was very comfortable with a nice bathroom even if the setup is quite compact. The location is close enough to the train station and there are plenty of food options as well as a couple of supermarkets near by. I stayed here while attending the Assen TT MotoGP round, and while I had to take a train each day, it was a convenient location.

I don't think the room had a refrigerator, which would have been handy.

Some of the nicest staff I've come across. Always there to help and nothing too much bother. The location is in the heart of the city but just away from the busy streets which is ideal. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable, The showerhead was a little wonky but that's just picking. Breakfast looked ok but we never ate as visiting family

I didn't dislike anything

The location of the hotel is great. Everything within the city centre is within walking distance and the hotel is very accessible by public transport. The room was nice and pretty spacious for a city hotel; the bathroom was very modern. Breakfast was great! Airco was very much needed because it was 30+C outside, but it worked wonders! This is not always the case in the Netherlands.

There are a couple of restaurants next to/in front of the hotel, so there is noise in the evenings. Not much of a surprise in the middle of the city, but light sleepers will be bothered by this.

Location good, walking distance to city center. Lobby is nice. Room big enough.

Recently customers have to use a parking in 6 mins walking distance, not very convenient. And I was a bit confused on the explanation of how to get out from the parking garage. When checking out we were given a coupon ticket and was told to insert that after inserting our original parking ticket, then we can get a discount. So I interpreted it as that we had to pay the parking on the parking garage. But at the parking garage we were told it was already paid, then I checked my payment to the hotel, it is indeed ~20 euro more than the hotel price which is the parking fee. I was hoping this could be made clearer when checking out.

The hotel is in a great central location, and it has an excellent parking garage a few minutes walk away. On arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful, and continued to be throughout our stay. Our room was great, functional and comfy. A very happy few days.

Only tiny negative, our room was cleaned but only half done. This wasn't a major issue.

Comfortable, super clean, and nice warm room with everything you could wish for, and with excellent staff everywhere. The location in the city is just perfect.

Although the breakfast staff was great, the breakfast itself was way too expensive for what was offered. I know breakfasts in Netherlands are simple and limited, but this was also the most expensive one I've had in a long time. I thought it was €10 each, but it turned out to be €16 (if I remember correctly).

A good basic stay in a central location. A good breakfast with plenty of options. The room was comfortable and had basic amenities. This felt like a clean, but somewhat unpersonal business hotel.

The price versus what is on offer is very high in my opinion. The room was very small for the price, and the breakfast was also very pricey. Summarized, for what was paid, it had a poor price to quality ratio. High prices are to be expected in cities such as Amsterdam, but in Groningen such rates are absurd.
