We are so happy when we enter the unit. Very tidy, clean n in order. We love everything in the motel. The kitchen at it,s designated area( best with dish drainer ), the spacious toilet ( best if the water pressure is stronger ) and the comfortable linen ( bed could be too soft if u are not young ). We were given room 1 which was just beside the road. I thought it would be noisy but surprisingly not. Overall, we are really happy staying here. Too bad we only stay one night here. My children wish we can stay more night.

But Colonial Lodge Motel has been Amazing and gave me faith in human kindness again, this was my last stay for our trip and has helped my mindset more than the realize, just by being kind can change a lot for a person, and due to their kindness I feel I will have a good day. Room had seperate bedroom from living area, which is really an upgrade from the usual bed in lounge room motel rooms. Also, the carpet was pretty new and loved that. The bathroom was also modern and stylish.

The only thing I can think of is a fan (ceiling fans or a standing fan) to circulate the air, otherwise I couldn't improve it.

Darren, the owner, was delightful and friendly. The unit was immaculately clean when we arrived and each day used towels were replaced, garbage removed and tea/ coffee etc topped up. The beds were comfortable, sheets and towels of excellent quality. It was also great that we could bring our two dogs!

There was nothing to fault about the accommodation.

Great location, short drive (4km) from Oamaru itself. Our rooms were at the back so were quieter. Washing facilities, line to dry close by. Comfortable, clean, well equipped rooms. Plenty of parking. Small play area for littleys.

Easy to find, good size room. Parking direct in rent of property. Staff were friendly.

Fair bit of noise from the trucks on the road at night, but not much they can do about that. The main bedroom had the curtains at the pillow end of the bed, with no headboard, so was worried about pulling them down if I moved in the night.

Spotlessly clean. We had a rear unit, so experienced no road noise at all. The motel owner was very friendly and helpful.

The gardens did need a bit of attention. The lawns needed mowing. This would have made it a 10/10 score

I stayed in a 1 bedroom unit, it was clean, comfortable and cosy and being around the back very quiet. Would definitely stay here again as it’s a great base for sightseeing in the area.

Nothing actually, looks like the manager is improving the property as he was always busy working.

I loved the service from the lady, she was polite and caring. Short distance to everything you need. Quite enough despite being next to the main road. Clean space.

The rooms heating wasn't that great, the panel heater doesn't put off much heat. They advertised 50 plus sky channels with barley any of them able to be watched. A few dirty parts in the bathroom.

No air-conditioning in the unit. It was a very hot weekend which made the unit very hot. Made it hard to sleep. Other than that we were very happy with our stay
