Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The ambiance was inviting - nicely landscaped and surrounded by lots of trees and plants. What stood out in our stay was the excellent customer service of their staff. From the Front Desk to the restaurant, staff were knowledgeable, professional and courteous. Ms. Mary Ann Gulayan went above and beyond in resolving some issues we had during our stay. She was just a wonderful person. Restaurant staff did the same thing - very service oriented and attentive to guests (Rose).

Rooms need to be refurbished badly. They need to be overhauled.

I like that the staff at reception was accommodating of my request to ask people next door to tone down their noise at midnight as I was trying to sleep and they also accommodated my request for a late check out at 1pm as I was waiting for some people to pick me up. The jacuzzi was a bonus for relaxation especially the 10 pm closing time. The massage spa was great and late closing times at 12 midnight was perfect for me. The buffet breakfast was good value for money and the staff were great.

That they do not have elevators and we had to carry our luggage up/down a flight of stairs to/from the room.it was disappointing not to be able to use the pool as it was being closed for maintenance during my stay. Their massage therapists accept outside booking which made me think they might be too overworked to massage us properly and we had to wait for them to arrive from servicing outside bookings.

Too long always for reservations officer or phone contact to answer if you are calling from outside the hotel(both mobile and landline) -- i cant understand why "phone operators" (if any) cannot pick up. even to put you "on hold" or maybe answer mobile or txt message to say they are busy and shall get back with requested info -- could have been better and acceptable. 2. Improve more the quality of rooms especially bathroom and toilet (tubs /faucets), carpeted hallways in the room building, even the pools. I know this hotel has been here for more than decades, but should have been maintained well or kept well.

The stafff at the counter was insisting that I should pay the TOTAL PRICE + TAXES = P8,190. But I insisted not to pay because it is clear in my booking the total price is P7,312.60(Tax Included). It does not say Tax to be added. I even explain, in any transaction or bill the bold amount is the total amount to be paid by the customer. She kept on insisting I had to paid the P8,190.00. But still I didnt. Later, she gave up in our discussion and we are allowed to leave. Lack of communication between the booking company and property owner. Their computation print out are different ...

Always love coming back to Davao and Waterfront Insular Hotel is my usual go-to. It is one of the more iconic accommodations in the city. The staff were very approachable, yet professional - despite the little hiccup around the deposit processing time, they were very quick in resolving my query. You can't beat the outdoor facilities. My friends and I were very fortunate to have been able to experience a local fashion exhibition by the beach. On a side note, the Elysia Wellness Spa is a must! If I stayed longer, I would've opted for another signature massage. Also, food, food, food - make sure you don't skip out on the buffet breakkie & dins.

I would like to see the place get a little revamp. The rooms were as comfortable as can be, but they felt outdated. Our AC was broken/ very weak, and we tried to get maintenance to come in to see what he could do. In the end, the poor guy just had to grab a standing fan to help cool us down. The only other thing, I would hope would be better the next stay is the bed - not sure if it was just me and my preference, but the mattress was way too soft for my liking. At one point, i think I was rolling to one side and constantly needed to nudge myself up to the middle.

my room was good and the food good but the cocktail bar staff and their drinks were very good and one huge stand out was the medical service provided free by the hotel. I cannot exaggerate how comforted I felt knowing help was available when I was unwell.

the bathroom was a lacking super hot water but warm enough. my pillows were nice but I needed a firm pillow for the best sleep.

We always love staying at the Insular, with the lovely resort style setting, pool, restaurant meals, and close proximity to malls and airport. All the staff were so helpful and friendly.

It has a few minor issues, but none that would detract us from staying here again. We already miss it 1 night after our week stay.

This is one of the old resort in Davao when I was growing up. I wanted my family to see the beauty of it.

Because its and old establish, its been neglected over the years, lack of maintenance. The cost was not justified by the lack of maintenance.

Pleasant and clean rooms. The view is amazing and the food are superb. But the thing that makes this such a good place to stay are the staff. All of the people are incredibly helpful and generous with their time and service. Again Thank you all to the staff specially Nestle and Kath from reception for being accommodating. Jm from room service and the guy from pool area not sure with his name (Jonathan?). You guys are amazing. Overall our stay and my mom’s birthday was indeed memorable and amazing. Will come back again for sure.

Waterfront Insular is a very nice hotel with a big property and the rooms are bigger than most hotels and we had a balcony. The only downside is that the ACs are old and need to be changed cos the room doesn't get cold that we had to ask for electric fans for both rooms. Other than that, everything was great, including staff.
