I loved everything about this hotel. The rooms were spacious with sensational views over Manila. The bed was large and comfortable. The breakfast was truly delectable. The rooftop restaurant was divine. The food was good and of course the view was truly amazing. All of the staff were friendly, approachable and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

There was nothing that I didn't like. Some of the guests staying in the hotel got a bit noisy one night and I complained to Reception around 1am. The manager sorted it out quickly and ensured that I was satisfied with the outcome. All of the staff went above and beyond to ensure the hotel was a good experience for all guests.

Our stay was pleasant and enjoyable overall, with some highlights and minor setbacks: Staff: Exceptionally helpful and accommodating, always checking if assistance was needed. Breakfast Buffet: Decent selection, sufficient for a satisfying breakfast. Firefly Roofdeck: The staff worked hard to accommodate both hotel and walk-in guests despite the peak season rush. Food variety was good, though on the pricier side. Pool Area: Beautiful views, but lacks privacy since it’s right beside the roof deck. Towels and robes are conveniently provided. Overall Verdict: Despite a few inconveniences, we were satisfied with our 2-night stay. The service and amenities were good enough for a relaxing New Year’s getaway.

New Year’s Eve Dinner: Unfortunately, the Firefly Roofdeck buffet was fully booked by early December. We opted for the Rosemary Ballroom buffet at ₱3,000 per head, which was a fair alternative given the circumstances. Gym: Limited equipment but adequate for light workouts. Elevators: A significant drawback during peak season—slow and overcrowded due to high hotel guest volume and shared use with Firefly visitors. Overall Verdict: Despite a few inconveniences, we were satisfied with our 2-night stay. The service and amenities were good enough for a relaxing New Year’s getaway.

The hotel staff were exceptional, providing warm, attentive service throughout our one-week stay. When our air conditioning broke, they quickly accommodated us by transferring us to a larger, brighter room, which made a big difference in our comfort. Dining Highlights: Breakfast was a standout feature. The buffet was extensive, with a wide variety of delicious options—by far the best breakfast we had during our trip. Additionally, the Firefly rooftop restaurant not only served excellent food but also offered breathtaking views of the Makati skyline. Overall: Despite some initial hiccups, the excellent service, fantastic dining options, and vibrant rooftop experience left us with mostly positive memories. If you’re looking for good food and great views, City Garden Grand Hotel won’t disappoint, but be prepared for a few inconveniences like noise and occasional delays.

Upon arrival, the lobby felt quite crowded, and the long wait times for the elevator—sometimes up to 5 minutes—were frustrating, especially when the popular Firefly rooftop restaurant was open. The first room we were assigned was a bit disappointing: small, old, dark, and not very inviting. While the hotel is conveniently situated in Makati, the surrounding area can be noisy, with constant traffic sounds, including honking, audible throughout the night. Since the view on the rooftop is amazing it would have been nice they allowed us using the drone while there weren't guests.

The staff was very friendly and pleasant at all times, especially Jess, who gave us information on how to get around the area and always attended us with a smile, as well as the rest of the hotel staff who, without a doubt, make you feel at home. The room was clean, spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The terrace definitely offers a great view of the Makati area and the location is very good. The live music during dinner time adds a touch of magic to the moment, which is very worthwhile.

Unfortunately, too much noise can be heard from the room. At night we could hear absolutely everything going on in the next room, which makes it very difficult to get a good night's rest. In addition, we could hear noises from the corridor almost every night. We would like to point out that the staff always did their best to help and offer us options, they are not at all to blame for the fact that there are disrespectful people who shout and make a terrible noise in the early hours of the morning.

Restaurants around the area are 24/7 and street food around the area Easy to get to, locations such as MOA, Baclaran Service is great Room is a great size for a family of 3 with 9 suitcases Bed and pillows were great. Breakfast is amazing with great options for everyone.

Only gripe we had with this hotel was we booked a van with reception to drop us to the airport at 9.30am and when we went down we waited 30 mins and then told us there was a problem with the van and they ended up booking 2 grab cars for us. Lucky we wanted to leave alot earlier to go airport just in case of any hiccups like this, if we didn't we would of been late going to the airport. It's great that they sorted out a grab for us but ideally we wanted to travel together as a family not separately.

Very good buffet breakfast. Our room was on 29th floor with excellent Manila skyline view. There is better view at roof-top bar on the 32nd floor. Very spacious room. Room equipped with kettle, tea and coffee. Electric sockets are universal that you don't need converters. Bathroom is very modern and clean with good quality utensils. Helpful staff, we had a half day late check out with reasonable price. Hotel is at the heart of Makati which is modern part and business center of Manila City; it takes 25-30 minutes from/to airport by taxi and costs approx. 300-400 pesos per trip. Overall very cosy 5 star hotel that we enjoyed it so much.

Almost nothing.

Facility’s location and room per night, friendly staff are the main reasons for liking this place. Now, Breakfast needs more updating to cater more to non locals. Observed foreigners seem to only get egg and bacon and maybe watermelon fruit, ate then left. Suggest including American sausages, maybe croissant, sunny side up egg, not cooked in a mold, boiled eggs, bring in more local fruits- Filipino mangoes, oranges, bananas, cantaloupes, or also , pancakes,

See comments above on breakfast choices. Rooftop sees to get very crowded but its expected esp during at night. Elevator is very slow and gets congested when a lot of people want to go up. Lobby - there was that sense of stench like sewage water stench. Not sure if that was floor cleaning agent but please into it.

The queen size bed options were a nice plus, especially if sharing beds. The rooms were decent, pretty basic but good size. We loved the rooftop pool. During the day, it got super hot, and it was nice to have a place to relax and cool down. Food & drinks were pretty good, too. The chicken strips were a big hit with our kids & and adults. Breakfast was also very good. We enjoyed the variety. Staff was great.

This hotel accommodation was decent. You get what you pay for. The only complaint would be their elevators. It's super slow and takes a while to go up or down or even into an elevator. On top of the slowness, it's like a mini sauna box. I understand most hotels try to conserve energy wherever possible, but goodness, imagine hot box + slow moving elevator. You can feel sweat falling down your back. I remember looking for the stairway and couldn't find one near the elevators either, which we thought was weird. In case of emergencies, I'm not sure what everyone is supposed to do with a super slow-moving elevator..

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a five-star hotel in Manila, and I must say, it was an experience worth sharing. Located in the best part of town for walking, this hotel offers unparalleled convenience and luxury. Location: The hotel's location is unbeatable for those who enjoy a good stroll. Situated on a prime walking street, it allows guests to explore the vibrant cityscape, bustling with shops, cafes, and cultural landmarks. For those who prefer public transportation, the nearby subway station makes it easy to avoid traffic and reach any destination within the city swiftly. Accommodations: The rooms are the epitome of luxury, blending modern amenities with elegant decor. My room was spacious, with a comfortable king-sized bed, a well-appointed bathroom, and a stunning view of the city skyline. The housekeeping staff ensured that everything was immaculate throughout my stay. Amenities: The hotel offers a wide range of amenities designed to cater to both leisure and business travelers. The spa and wellness center provided a perfect retreat after a day of exploring, while the rooftop pool offered breathtaking panoramic views of Manila. For those on business, the state-of-the-art conference facilities and high-speed internet access were invaluable. Dining: The dining options within the hotel were exceptional. The main restaurant served a delightful array of local and international cuisine, with a breakfast buffet that was both extensive and delicious. The hotel's lounge bar was an ideal spot for evening cocktails, offering a relaxing ambiance and impeccable service. Service: From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was memorable. The concierge was incredibly helpful in arranging city tours and recommending the best local attractions. The check-in and check-out processes were seamless, and every staff member I encountered was courteous and professional.

I loved the look and feel of the hotel but most of all it was the staff. MC, Rode, Mac aka Maverik, the young lady Who was the hostess at the rooftop bar that I saw every morning around 8 AM I don’t remember her name offhand. And of course the young lady the manager at the upstairs restaurant she was always very polite everyone seemed to be happy working there and she did a great job of taking care of all of the guest. But your staff was fun and that was my first trip to Mānoa and things to the staff it will not be my last iamb highly recommending your hotel to everyone that I know and when I return I will definitely be staying with you guys again. And for the other staff members that I didn’t mention by name I do apologize but just know that you did a wonderful job also.

The only thing I didn’t like is that I didn’t book my stay for longer so next time I return I will be staying longer.
