The location was great for us 5 mins walk to the main square and similar to the old town and Jewish quarter. Nice location at the side of a park walk way around the city. Our room was very grand, a real WOW !! A huge room with wonderful high ceilings and a very genourus sized bathroom. We found the breakfasts fabulous!!! A wonderful buffet with something for everyone. The buffet was always well monitored and all the food was fresh and replenished when necessary. Some of the food was varied daily to give a different breakfast experience. Staff were always available, attentive,hardworking, helpfull and friendly.

Some of the furniture and decoration were a little tired and dated but all were clean and tidy and very much in keeping with the overall charecter of this wonderful building. There was a little street noise from a (very good) nearby resteraunt and general passers by but nothing excessive that couldn't be stopped by closing the window. It's also to be expected from a city hotel.

I had a stay of 1 week in this wonderful hotel.Is located in a very good location, with a view and a huge avenue with trees, 5 minutes walk to the old town, and another 5 minutes to the Kazminerez district. The hotel is very clean, very well heated, the rooms are large and spacious, with everything you need, the bathroom is large with hot water and heat. The breakfast is a buffet, with good food, and many traditional Polish products, delicious. The reception staff are incredibly sociable and friendly, helping you with anything you need, taxi, city enquiries, pretty much anything. I highly recommend this hotel, and we will definitely be happy to come back here. Thank you very much for everything!!

This has been our favourite hotel through the years. Now it seems to be in some kind of transition, since the main entrance was closed and only one third of the hotel was in use. We hope this is only temporary. Rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean, good lighting and air conditioning. Parking is guarded 24/7.

Weird pillows. A fridge would be a big plus. The only thing to complain about was the breakfast, it was a joke! We had informed in advance that we have allergies and the reception had informed the restaurant about our non-dairy diet, but they couldn't care less! Nor did they do anything to improve the situation, like inform us if there was something non-dairy we could eat. We got a can of soy milk after I asked for it separately, that's all. Substandard service.

I really liked the room, it was spacious as well as a bathroom. Everything was clean. The stuff was very friendly. And the location of the hotel is good. The breakfast was great and tasty, I could not expect to get this variety of such tasty food!

I stayed 2 nights, staff really friendly, breakfast was just amazing, the location is so convenient, literally close by everything. The room was cozy and clean and bright. Bed was super comfortable and I slept so well. I really enjoyed my stay. Thank you very much! I would come back again.

I asked for a spare blanket and pillow, once I like staying warm in the night, they kinda forgot about me, but after I asked again they fixed it. There was no fridge in the room. If your window is facing to the street it can be a bit noisy because of tram.

Hotel Royal is in an excellent position near Wawel Castle and within easy walking distance to the Old Town. It is an old hotel, needing a little attention, but is presently undergoing some renovation. This is taking place during the day so did not inconvenience us at all. The one thing I would mention is that the beds are extremely low, which could cause problems to anyone with mobility issues. The staff were wonderful and we were met at breakfast each morning with genuine beaming smiles . They were cheerful and courteous and could not do enough to help. The breakfast was very good with an ample selection of meats, cheese, eggs, fruit etc. We felt that our experience at the Hotel Royal was a very good one and represented excellent value for money.

The low beds !

The hotel was located perfectly. All the places we were there for were near by, and a lot more. We were surpriced of the size of the room. it was huge. Beds were good and large, But more important was that everything was easy to arrange in reception. Everybody was nice and friendly and all our wishes were taken care of immediately and fast, for example trip to camps and salt mines. Taxi from airport was not too expensive and it was easy and comfortable way to travel. The atmosphere was great everywhere. We loved it.

Actually there was no thing we could possibly criticize.

Large hallways and landings with spacious rooms and high ceilings. The location of the hotel ensures the most desirable attractions are just a short walk. The breakfast selection was very good and the service from all the staff was super.

The reception area could do with a refresh and the landing carpets could do with a clean but these are minor points.

This hotel exceeded all expectations for the price. The room was huge and the bathroom was modern. The staff were brilliantly helpful, even printing our boarding passes for us. Breakfast was filling and hot - all you could ask for in a hotel! The location was perfect - close enough to the main square to get about by foot, but far out enough to get some peace and quiet. Easy to reach by cab from the airport too. Can’t recommend this place enough!
