The hotel was ideally situated for us close to the centre where we wanted to be and also near to the river. It was clean and modern and the staff were friendly and spoke excellent English. The secure parking was a definite bonus. This is a no frills property but even so, the rooms were comfortable, had air conditioning and the facilities were very good - perfect for anyone just wanting a bed for the night. There was a good bar/breakfast area although we didn’t use it. We would stay here again if in the area.

Access to the underground car park was extremely tight and quite challenging both driving down into and up out of. Thankfully we had a small hire car.

The staff were amazing. They were all extremely friendly in general and really helpful with issues that cropped up during my trip. For instance, I drove from my country to Portugal and I was a bit confused about toll payment as the system is quite different to the one where I live. The guys at reception were extremely patient and helped me sort everything out.

They didn’t always top up the shower gel so I kind of felt like I had to ration it a couple of days. It was ok in the end but it would’ve been more comfortable if they’d sorted it out themselves from the beginning.

Busy road right outside; turned out to be no problem at all. Only a short stay, so limited breakfast choice was just fine. Also only a very small bar, but it seems they make the best G+T in the world.

Everything exceeded expectations at this price point. As I normally regard hotels as just a place to sleep, I have no real criticisms at all. It's quite a climb up the hill to the University, but we can't expect Ibis to remove hills. I'd looked at the map, so was expecting that.

Reception was excellent. Tiago in particular is the kindest and most warm and accommodating. I came very early for my trip and he has accommodated me to stay and wait in comfort by the lobby while he checks availability for an early check in, which he very kindly arranged for me with only additional 10 euros. That was truly very helpful and I am most satisfied with such exceptional service by Ibis Coimbra! Thank you so much, and I shall remain a loyal client of your wonderful chain of hotels! :)

The room cleaning staff tend to get noisy, dragging the beds, banging the doors, chatting, making all noise, which kept waking me up despite me hanging a Do no disturb sign. If I may kindly suggest, for travellers who needed to sleep and rest during the day, if the cleaning staff can be advised to be more careful in making unnecessary noise around rooms that request not to be disturbed, that would really be a huge convenience and added comfort for your guests :)

I had a great stay at this hotel , the staff is very very helpful and professional. I had a lot of questions and i got all the answers with a nice smile from the receptionists, all of them are very friendly. The hotel is very clean and the location is great. Amazing view 😊 I will definitely come back.

I wish breakfast had more vegetables choices. It's very easy to chop some veggies and add on the buffet.

Position was very good. Staff were helpful and spoke reasonable English whereas our Portuguese is very limited. Room was pleasant, not unduly large but clean and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was compact but very clean. Breakfast was a buffet, bit busy first morning but not that bad. Choice very good.

Access to car park is tight. A large car WILL have problems although once down the ramp, the spaces were very spacious and the lighting excellent

Location is pretty good and easy walking to center of town and park across street. Room was fine and bed was comfortable.

Parking under hotel was extremely tight and fraught with danger of damaging car. breakfast had the minimum of selections and no eggs or bacon or sausages. They were pretty good about replenishing food fairly quickly. In 7 weeks of traveling around Portugal, this breakfast selection had the worst selection.

Very nice hotel, it is what you expect, no more, no less! The staff was super polite and happy, the breakfast was good but I expected a bit more or variety. The location is simply amazing if you're doing everything by foot in the city. I totally recommend it.

The breakfast could be a bit better, it's not that is bad but I think it could have more variety as there weren't many fruits for example but that's just a detail. The room is also a bit dark due to the way is built but again, nothing that bothered us too much.

This is a typical Ibis. Small rooms but clean and adequate. No fridge in room. Good breakfast, continental with fruits and yoghurts. No cooked breakfast. Did have Portugese Tarts which is very important😉. Also has parking under the building which was why we booked it.

Dinner on offer is reheated snack type meals which the waiter warned us about. He recommended a restaurant in town, Sete, best lamb shank I’ve ever had and all the guests were loving their meals. So, something good came from my negative😆

A lovely location in Coimbra. 5 minutes to the main sites. Very helpful staff. Rooms are clean. Enough space for a weekend away. We had a lovely view of the park outside. Nice breakfast. Gluten-free options available. Would definitely recommend for a short stay in Coimbra.

The cash/ATM machine is quite far, so make sure to have some cash. There are no convenience stores around the corner, so you have to buy small bottles of water for 1 Eu. There are shops in the city centre, but nothing nearby.
