Everything was exceptional! Room 204 pool villa was the best location and had the most privacy with the best view. The private pool was bigger than I was expecting (not a tiny plunge pool). The rooms were spotless and cleaned daily. It has air conditioning but the fan they provide helps move the cold air around more effectively. The staff were so incredibly kind and delivered free breakfast every morning.

I loved everything but you must be prepared (and in shape) for a longer steep walk to the resort from the main town. It’s walkable but the hill can become tiring in the heat. We eventually rented a scooter to get up and down, especially for when we had groceries and heavy bottles of water.

Amazing friendly staff who couldn’t enough for you Rooms were extremely clean We wanted to stay an open extra night and they facilitated that for us! Close enough to walk to the main bars and restaurants, but can hire a moped from hotel if wanted to Comfy beds resulting in amazing nights sleep! Lovely fresh fruit platter delivered to my room for breakfast. Koh Tao was beautiful and we are glad we got the amazing experience we did!

It was fine for us, but if anyone struggles with walking they wouldn’t want to walk to and from the main bars as it’s hilly - didn’t effect us though :)

The room was really big with super king bed and comfortable, my booking included breakfast which in my opinion was also good. They picked me up free at the pier and dropped me off free at the pier. They cleaned and changed towels daily. You can rent a motorbike for $250Bath, a fair price, you can reach the city centre in 5 minutes by motorbike.

If you don't know how to drive a motorbike well, or if you don't want to walk to get to the city centre maybe you should choose another place, because it's a bit far from the city centre on foot, about 20 minutes and it's a complicated road to drive. Anyway for us the place was great.

Really beautiful secluded property tucked into the hills and jungle. Private pool and balcony were very peaceful and the pool was surprisingly large. The floor to ceiling glass windows were really nice and the ocean view was spectacular. The breakfast served in room was also nice.

I think a few small changes would make the property feel much nicer. For example, the shower towels had large holes in them and furniture was in bad shape. A pool net would have been nice to clear out leaves and debris that collected during the day. This property is also a 10-20 minute walk to any restaurants down a dark dirt path, so if you don’t enjoy walking and don’t want to rent a motorbike, it would be a tough location.

Very nice and comfortable stay at the Matina Resort. Staff was very helpful with all our questions and also picked us up from the ferry pier and drove us to the pier at the end of our stay. The rooms are spatious and ours had also a private pool, which we very much enjoyed. Overall an absolute recommendation. We will come back!

Just to keep in mind: the resort is located on a hill so the way to the resort is quite steep and may be challenging especially during the night.

Very spacious rooms, high ceilings, big bathroom and huge balcony. The air conditioning was also great for the size of room. Very peaceful and tranquil and I must say this property has so much potential and when finished, it will be up there with the best places on the island. I believe it was started before COVID so understandably there is some parts that need to be finished/completed but do not let that put you off… The staff here were second to none, from pick up, to the cleaning staff, to the receptionist, to the drop off. They even had a place called the Amazon Cafe very near the pier ferry pick up point to leave luggage which was helpful if leaving on the later ferry. The staff are so polite and kind… I will 100% be coming back to Koh Tao and I will stay here again…

Not anything at all… My only point is the incompletion of work but understandably with all that happened around the world with COVID I can see the reasons and I can see what this outstanding property has and will offer now and when works are completed.

We absolutely loved our stay here! For the price you pay, we were blown away with the facilities. We had a normal lodge without a pool, but the room was absolutely massive. We are currently backpacking so it was worlds away from the hostels we’ve been staying in. The location is perfect as it’s quiet but only about a 15/20 minute walk from all the party. They also let you rent mopeds which was a lifesaver. I think getting up and down the hill without one would have altered the experience, so maybe bare that in mind if you’re not a confident driver :-) A massive shoutout to all the staff, especially the lovely lady on reception and also Mars the driver! Was so easy to get from the port and they cannot do enough for you x

Lots of bugs but to be expected so we didn’t mind! Just make sure you stock up on bug spray.

We loved it ! The room was clean and the bed was super confortable. They clean the room everyday,replace waters and coffee and deliver a breakfast of your choosing (about 4/5 options) to your room The staff was incredible, very kind and helpfull They helped whenever possible, even last minute issues we had. :) You can rent a bike for cheap , they have a shuttle to get you at the bay and the opposite. You can also ask them for a taxi It's a very calm area, peacefull and relaxing

Very minimal, but the water took a very long time to get hot The location did'nt bother us but it might to some people

The staff is so nice and helpful. The manager gave us her WhatsApp and we could contact her anytime. Very reactive and Profesional staff, also very friendly. Location is also great, only 850m from Sairee beach.

The breakfast is weak and lacks variety. The hotel gives the feeling of being a work in progress. Lot of construction work inside, the rooms are big and comfortable, but lacking finishes : shower is big but wide open, doors’ outlines not finished, floor seems like cement, etc. Our feeling was that the Covid pandemic had huge economical consequences and the owners could not finish the job. This hotel has the potential to score a 10/10 if properly finished. Finally, the hotel is located in a hill, 850 meters from Sairee beach, but if you are not fit or just tired, going by foot is challenging. Not adapted to old people and kids. The way to the hotel is too dark if you walk by night, with risk of meeting some stray dogs…

- The staff were nicest we’ve had in Thailand so far, very friendly and helpful - Breakfast delivered to your room each morning (at your chosen time and chosen meal choice) - Rooms were extremely spacious and clean - Large balcony area outside each room - Shuttle service to and from the pier - Free snorkel hire - 15 min walk from main Sairee Beach area - Would be amazing if you paid for a room with a pool - 10 min walk from a very good gym

- The only downside is the hill you have to walk home from the main area of Sairee Beach. However if you are fit and healthy this is a minor downfall for the location and quality of service
