Great experience overall! We had lunch, helicopter tour, dinner and stay. Stuff has nice and helpful in the weeks prior and during the stay. Having your cabin looking over the helicopters and to the mountains is a unique view. The cabin was comfortable and clean. Convenient restaurant on site. We chatted with the owner and he brought a recliner chair to our cabin for my pregnant wife. Above and beyond! Fully recommended.

The food options in the restaurants were just OK.

Peaceful, beautiful setting. What we didn't know, is that they have a fairly big (and growing) helicopter service behind the main lodge, to transport people to the nearby glacier. Service can start as early as 8am, so they claim, but we never head anything sooner than 8:30am, and that didn't bother us, as we were up & heading to adventures by then. Cabin was clean & cozy. The service was #1, the lodge food was terrific, and it was quintessential Alaska around us. We also didn't know they had laundry service which is only 1 set of machines, but it served us really well, as we were just over half-way on our trip, and needed to wash some clothes; our plans to do so in Talkeetna would have been seriously disappointing, as we saw nothing quick/convenient, as the machine at the lodge. Pop clothes in; enjoy a drink, dinner; move to dryer; add more clothes. We had to wait once for others, but one load is typically 35mins, so no big deal.

The helicopters. They flew around the cabins, as much as they can to get to the rear of the lodge when returning. Can run late (8pm), but we never saw them run later then 6:30pm. Also, it's address claims Palmer AK, but it is 30mins (south/south-east) from Palmer. Not so bad, but ought to set your expectations. We expected it to be on the edge of Palmer proper, so our drive to/from Matanuska Glacier went from 1hr to 1.5 hrs; our fault for not researching more. Glad to drive the additional 30mins for the end-of-day peaks and beauty around us, as well as the #1 service from the staff -- they were terrific.

I booked the lodge as an extension of booking the company's tour of helicoptor to the dog sledding mushing camp on the glacier. To simply walk back to my room after the incredible experience on the glacier was wonderful.

Because I was there during shoulder season I did not meet any additional guests. I would have loved talking to others and their travels.

I wonder how management seems to be able to hire the absolutely friendliest nicest most helpful staff. every single one was simply perfect! from housekeeping to included hot breakfast waiters waitresses, from reception to restaurant staff and the kitchen.

There is a LOT of helicopter starting and landing throughout the day. being an early riser without the urge of taking a nap would have helped!

Views, tours, location, room, bathroom, bed, restaurant. Everything was great. Would have been nice to have a microwave in the room, but it has been the highlight of the trip.

The helicopter tour messed up the names and didn't take us on the lower landing because they mixed up our groups. They were unable to take us back and refunded the money. If you go confirm with the pilot they have the right name and tour.

Having our own cabin and the gorgeous views

Was hoping for a possible aurora view but they keep the restaurant outdoor lights on at night. Would be nice to put them on a motion sensor. This lodge is prime location for dark skies otherwise. The restaurant seems to run out of a lot of items. Maybe it was just a high demand Labor Day weekend.

The place was nice and the view was beautiful.

They needed to have their food service open longer. There was no options for food when we arrived about 7pm. There was no breakfast/lunch available at checkout. Prices for the tours were very expensive.

Super cozy stay and all of the nice touches like tea, k cups, water were great! The bathroom was super nice and the restaurant on site was convenient and delicious.

Everything was great! It’s a bit out of the way but if you have a car or are doing the helicopter tour it’s super convenient

It's a very nice place, like new. Plenty of space, all high standard.

Was a bit disappointed in quality of dishes in restaurant. It felt you can expect better. From 8 AM to 8 PM the helicopters constantly take off and land in front of cabins. It's cool to look, but not to sleep during that time.

Alaska Glacier Lodge has amazing views. The cabin was very clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable, towels were soft and fluffy. The porch was great for enjoying the view and watching the helicopters take off and land.
