A lot of interesting nostalgia inside the hotel taking you back to Czechoslovakia former times. The staff let you choose another room if you’re not happy with the one you booked. Hotel is just a few steps to the Aupark shopping centre, and transportation. Probably the cheapest hotel in Slovakia so it’s easy on finances, and they never seem to be short on rooms due to the sheer size of the hotel. I’ve stayed there a few times, it’s not luxury, but great on the wallet.

The first time a stayed there, the shower was blocked, and the bed was broken. But the next time I stayed there, I explained the situation to the receptionist, and she made sure I got a comfortable room.

For the price it was very good. It was reasonably clean and the WiFi was excellent. Not too noisy except by the hallway door. Everything worked in the bathroom.

There were cigarette butts in the windowsill and sometimes people smoking in nearby rooms (at the window). You can't leave the window open or pigeons will come in. I thought the bed was fine, but you can sometimes feel the wood supports through the thin mattress.

I know many people rate this hotel quite low. I can understand. But if you just stay for few days, I think there's no remarkable problem. The building is from the communist time which would be rare nowadays even in Slovakia. Thus I enjoyed this rare atmosphere. Huge shopping mall is just next to you so you have no issues with food or the things you need. Inside is renovated though of course it is old. Impressed how they still use them properly including elevators. So no complains!

The price was the main thing, Ive stayed a few times before and its convienient for everywhere really.

Slill no kettle available for the room, we brits like a brew, I was going to book it for another few nights, but the price went up and it wasnt much dearer to get a room closer to the railway station at one of the Penzions

For the price, I really liked it. Great value for money and I love the fact it hasn't been properly renovated in years. For me, that gave it a charm

The lift had no internal.doors on either side, meaning two walls were moving when you went up. Never seen more than one open side

As usual staff is very hellful, breakfast nice as usual with good variety of choices.

Was surprised and a bit upset that there are no refrigerators in the rooms any more, little refrigerator was usually very handy.

Great staff, room is a large size, breakfasts are cheap(only 8€ additional) and good, lso free parking on hotel premises. Great location, close to the center and shopping center is literally next building.

Location is great. Staff was helpful.

The only thing the room temperarure was a bit too high and could not find any handles to make the radiator a bit colder.

I was extremely happy with hotel Slovakia and looking forward to returning as soon as possible

Everything I liked

I read the reviews and was willing to take the 23 EUR gamble and was pleasantly surprised by my stay. Everything worked seamlessly, the check-in, room, parking, and breakfast. Looks can be deceiving, Hotel Slovakia is a blast from the past but a well functioning hotel. :)

Hahaha, well, as every review will tell you, this place hasn't had a renovation in 30 years. I think it's part of the charm. :D
