Hotel Actum

Staff are exceptionally welcoming and helpful. The hotel is located in the old town centre. Kranj is nice in a quiet way but might be a bit too quiet for some. The old town is pretty albeit clearly in need of some revitalisation. It is definitely well located for day trips into the Alps as well as to the famous caves in the south of Slovenia. There are interesting little galleries (mostly free) and the castle museum is well presented and worth seeing. The town seems to be full of nice people who enjoy a chat.

if you're after a vibrant, buzzing old town, you might not find it here. Kranj has a lot of potential but it's certainly more on the quiet side. It can be surprisingly difficult to find a place that does any food at all. Quite a contrast to its "big sister" Ljubljana. I personally enjoyed the quiet walks around town though. The gorge is certainly unexpected and quite something to see.

Location right in the pedestrian zone was fantastic. Parking onsite. Huge room with a very comfortable bed, mini bar, and a full size jacuzzi hot tub in the room (unfortunately I wasn’t aware of this in advance & 24 hours notice was needed to actually use it). Host at reception was friendly and incredibly helpful. She called around to find a good restaurant that would allow us to take our dog, then gave us directions to get there. Breakfast was excellent, lots of variety of hot and cold items. Fabulous coffee! Would definitely stay here again.

TV was dated and without internet capability. Most of the channels wouldn’t work. Hotel did comp us for this, so not really a complaint, but it would benefit them to upgrade in the future.

It is in the historic heart of Kranj. It was in the pedestrian zone that has some auto traffic allowed. Everything you need is an easy walk as well as very close to the Ljubljana airport on;y 13 minutes away. I like the decor with the Rolls Royce and other auto pictures framed through out. The staff was excellent an accommodating for me since I had an early flight that I had to leave at 5am. They had a packed lunch ready for me when I exited. Thank you for great customer service.

Nothing as everything was beyond expectation

We expected an older typical European Hotel. SURPRISE!!! We found an upgraded facility that fully embraced the "Boutique" experience. The rooms are tastefully furnished with a mixture of antiques and comfortable modern furniture. Great artwork and frescos decorate the old European arched and angled niches of the walls and ceilings. The central Air conditioning was great and a big bonus. Big, clean spacious rooms and bathrooms were the norm for the 2 rooms we had access to, #104 & a slightly bigger #105. The bathroom showers were nice and roomy with easy controls and an effective "wand" showerhead. No bathtub in the bathroom BUT a Hot Tub in the living room area. Exceptionally friendly and accommodating staff. We opted for the breakfast buffet option and were very pleased with the quality and selection of food offered as well as the friendly down-home feeling the staff lavished on us. None of us left hungry. It is located in the central district of town with driving access limited by retractable bollards, the Hotel provided us the access code to open the bollards. This makes the hotel very quiet as there is virtually NO traffic. They do have some parking available in back of the Hotel. There is no elevator, but the staff took over the bag carrying chores very quickly. We stayed here for only 1 night, to be close to the Ljubljana Airport before our departure day. We all wish we had made this our stopping place for a few more days.

NOTHING rises even close to the complaint level. My only mini-gripe is they needed a small bathroom vanity by the lavatory or something with a flat surface to place toiletries during the stay (#104). There is a narrow flat shelf area behind and above the toilet and bidet across the room from the lavatory, but I kept picturing my toothbrush or shaver falling into the toilet....

Great location in the centre of Kranj old town. Free parking was a consideration when choosing this hotel given the location. Hearty breakfast that includes lots of Slovene products (kranjska klobasa to go with your eggs and also pastries and potica). Really friendly and helpful staff, particularly the gospa who gave me clingfilm to wrap up some sandwiches from the buffet to take skiing for lunch. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious and comfortable - I didn't use the jacuzzi. The Rolls Royce-themed decor throughout the hotel is a nice touch which makes the hotel special. If I stay in Kranj again I'll definitely come back here.

Nothing to complain about.

This vintage hotel was brimming with history. The owner and her daughter were exceptionally helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was superb, and the lunch was equally delicious, with an impressive price. The room and bathroom were spacious and immaculate. The hotel is ideally located in the heart of the old town, offering plenty of options to visit nearby places, including the town itself and the magnificent Brdo Park. Ljubljana and Bled are both easily reachable within 40 minutes. I would gladly return to this hotel, as they take great care of their guests.

Very acommodating staff, room is decorated in regency style - very nice. Bad is very comfortable, with pillow choices (soft and hard). Hotel is located in the very centar of historic part of the town. Various breakfast choices.

Room was poorly lit. It was very hard to do some work on laptop. Best light is in the bathroom. Even though bed was comfortable, it is made of some artificial material that flakes.

This is a nice hotel in the down town core of Kranj The staff is exceptional. The breakfast was first class. I also loved the shower and it’s water flow.

The rooms, while using Mable are a little dated. The space to walk around the bed is limited at the foot of the bed. And the windows could use replacement (two windows with an out 6” of space in between to provide the double glass effect).

This is a hotel located in a wonderful part of Kranj. The hotel itself is full of character that enhances rather than overwhelms the stay and the rooms are lovely. The staff are incredibly helpful and absolutely went above and beyond to meet/anticipate any needs or questions I may have had.

Be aware that as this is a historical building, there is no elevator. Due to being in a pedestrian zone it may be hard to access via car.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. When I told them I would be leaving for the airport too early for the breakfast, they asked what they could pack in a breakfast-lunch to-go for me. My room was also gorgeous and very clean. Hotel Actum is centrally located in the historic district of Kranj, close to lots of great food options, a market, and lots of other fun things to walk to.

The WiFi signal was weak because the walls in the very old building were so thick.
