Firstly the Setting of the hotel at harbour island is unique .The hotel has views of the beach and Helderberg mountains on one side and views of the marina village of the other.The staff are friendly and very helpful. The reception area dining area and deck with the waterfall curtain wall create an ambient feeling when arriving there is also an art gallery with local art on display . The rooms are spacious ,they have carefully chosen interior finishes with beautiful bathrooms with walk in type showers.The rooms have great views of the beach to the onside and pool deck and marina on the other side. The pool deck is fantastic and conveniently located with wonderful sunny views of the marina.The pool was crystal clear and sparkly blue . The gym looks down onto the pooldeck and is more than adequate for a quick workout before a swim. The hotel is located above just4 africa scuba .The scuba shop do courses in the hotel pool for children such as bubble makers and can arrange dives at various dive sites around capetown for qualified divers Finally the hotel is great value for money due to its location outside the capetown CBD in Gordons bay . It cost around 75 euro per adult (children stay free).It is brilliant value for money compared to the hotels in Capetown waterfront.

On the down side the room was a bit chilly on a late winters August evening in Capetown as the french doors onto the balcony only have single glazed units thus there is a substantial amount of heat loss from the room. The ac unit is not really sufficient to heat the room so if the temperature drops and a storm blows in be prepared to put on your warm clothes .This is a common problem in Cape hotels which have a mainly summer tourist season. The pool water is unheated by solar so if visiting off season the pool water is a bit chilly.

I cannot begin to explain what a delight it was to be here. Helpful staff and front desk. We had an issue with the toilet and immediately someone was available to help. The room we got was super spacious with a spacious shower and jacuzzi tub. The facilities were top tier. Crystal clear pool, fully stocked gym, a bar and many restaurants nearby. The alcohol is only served around 11am if I remember correctly so keep that in mind if you want an early mimosa or cocktail on holiday. The breakfast buffet was glorious and my eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach. Proximity to beaches and restaurant options make it perfect to never leave the premises. And very important: they have options for loadshedding that switch over the power almost immediately - which was great for our aircon needs. The aircon was really amazing on those hot summer days! Cannot WAIT to come back!

I found the whole experience a lovely one once I was able to get a room that was not overlooking the car park. The lady on the counter was very helpful and I was grateful for them being accommodating. The room was a Superior room which was very clean and inviting and quite lovely. I loved the shower gels, location and shampoos which are often not so great at hotels but were really good. I enjoyed the breakfast and overall I would visit again for sure.

Be mindful that rooms are not always ready on time. We arrived a little before check in time but had to wait and then due to a room change request we had to wait a fair time before we got settled in. I did find I had to communicate a lot rather than them being proactive. I felt a bit like they forgot you were there and needed your room. Nothing related to the hotel or stay - but be mindful that the area can experience very high winds during November which I was surprised at so do take a good anorak with you so you are not left cold.

We stayed in the family room and it was one of the biggest we've ever been in. It was well laid out with enough space for everyone. We loved that we could order room service which is something we always look for when booking. The breakfast was top notch with a view of the boats from the dining room.

Despite the room being so delightful the sound of the wind at night kept us up. It's quite loud. We had not a great experience with the staff. Service took forever and most staff we spoke to seemed miserable. Perhaps there was a huge argument earlier that day or something, because the whole atmosphere when we came into the lobby was just off and the next day the staff was happy so I don't know.

We loved the spacious room. The food is absolutely devine! It's definitely worth ordering dinner here. We couldn't get a room with a view since we booked very last minute. The hotel has so many different things to see. You need to walk around. The views out on the harbor is breath taking. Would've loved to try out the spa, but we were pressed for time. We had a dove who visited... it was so cute.

The hotel is not well maintained. I'm not sure we will be able to go back in a year or two. Staff at reception was very unhelpfull and both coffee machines from housekeeping fa8led to work. Restaurant staff and the guys that helped with our luggage were very friendly and helpful.

Our at Krystal Beach Hotel in Gordon's Bay was truly memorable. The experience was highlighted by the amazing breakfast that started our day off right. The staff was not only friendly but also incredibly welcoming and helpful, making us feel like valued guests throughout our stay. One unique aspect of this stay was the captivating art exhibition area, where talented artists displayed their work and shared their creative process with us, from beautiful beadwork to handpainted artwork. It added an extra layer of cultural enrichment to our visit. The rooms were a delightful surprise – spacious, immaculately clean, and truly inviting. Waking up to beautiful views only added to the experience, and the on-site facilities met all our needs.

We had upgraded to a suite, the accommodation was awesome, lovely space, patio opening up to the pool area. Friendly staff. They could of been more accommodating of my requests. Breakfast had a wonderful spread, and everyone was catered for. Overall we had a great stay. The hotel situation is centrally located to spend time on the beach or taking a drive out.

Only issue, the chocolate croissant and mini was stale and the hashbrown not cooked very well. Only a tiny soap, luckily, I had packed in. No face clothes, but I had packed in.

This was our second stay at Krystal Beach for almost a week. We stayed in the same suite as last time on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool. The rooms were lovely and spacious and all facilities worked. The bed was large and comfortable and curtains kept out the light. The bathroom was much larger than normal with a door from the bedroom and another from the sitting area We were booked on bed and bed breakfast. Plenty of choice and food was of good quality. Theo the chef who prepared eggs to order added lovely little decorative but edible touches. We also had dinner in the restaurant a few times. Menu was varied and prices reasonable particularly the March set meal of the evening. Service was friendly and no long waits. All the staff from reception, bar, dining room, doorman, cleaners were helpful and cheery. The pool was well maintained though not heated.

Where our room was sited there seemed to be a lot of noise in the corridor and also in the room from exterior extractors or air con systems.

The rooms were spotlessly clean and modern. Fully pressurized hot showers. Views from the duplex family room were exceptional. Good basement parking. The staff at the hotel were exceptional. From the check in manager to the gentleman making eggs to order at breakfast, staff were smiling, polite and really pleasant. I loved this. The breakfast selection was really superb. The staff were refilling platters efficiently and they were attentive. The pianist created the perfect ambience to begin your day whilst enjoying the leisurely breakfast buffet.

The property is great and it’s bar as well is awesome especially with its daily specials of cocktails.

The weather in this area is terrible, our room was sea-facing and the wind was so strong for the duration of our stay it kept us irritated by blowing our room door uncontrollably and there was nothing the hotel could do as it was natural cause.
