The attention to detail is a cut above the rest. They think of everything and have those special touches added which make it superb. Certain drinks are on the house for the guests to enjoy as well as baked cake for the afternoon. Our room had beautiful decor and very spacious with a private seating outdoors and pool one can enjoy in warmer weather. The minibar in the room stocks fresh milk and a variety of hot beverages to enjoy as well as bottled water. The staff was very friendly and informative. The adjacent restaurant next door is so convenient for the guests from the Last Word. Breakfast couldn't be better and the beautiful garden must be mentioned.

We stayed for 2 nights and wished we could have stayed longer! The hotel has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere and the staff were all very friendly and efficient. The honesty bar was a really cute touch and added to that ‘home from home’ feel. The breakfast was excellent and extremely generous-it includes everything you could think of. We also loved the tranquil pool area and the gorgeous garden. We would love to return!

The only thing we could fault was the cleanliness of the small private pool that came with our room. We didn’t use it as it didn’t look very inviting.

Having lived in Cape Town for five years is important context, which is why we decided to stay at The Last Word. The staff was extremely friendly, professional, and courteous, and anything we needed we received. The included breakfast was excellent, and overall, I highly recommend The Last Word.

Truthfully, nothing really. You have to know it's located in Constantia in the Southern Suburbs, so if you are looking to explore downtown Cape Town, likely not the best location. But again, beyond that, highly recommend it.

The light is beautiful. Was offered a halasl breakfast which was so thoughtful.

The rooms are absolutely beautiful and cosy and the location is great. Close to restaurants and wine farms. We received a warm welcome.

The service at breakfast was very slow. We were told that it was due to a short staff situation but we literally waited 30 mins for coffee one morning and thereafter I had finished my breakfast before my husband’s arrived. The second morning was better but still not what we expected.

the staff are fantastic and the suite is beautifully decorated. the garden is tranquil and lovely to sit in. all in all wonderful people and a fabulous stay.

only one thing niggled us about what was missing in a property of that calibre. enough solar power to power the plugs that powered the TV and DSTV. it only requires a bit of rewiring. the towel heater (which draws much more power) was left working. with the lack of a solution to our power problem hotels and guesthouses, especially of that rating need to make sure that their power needs are totally covered.

I enjoyed my stay. The room was awesome. The location is perfect for us as it’s not too far from our residence as we have a little one and could leave at home with her nanny for the afternoon.

I’m used to “breakfast included” meaning, just that. The complimentary items available, though tasty, were not sufficient as a breakfast and I would have enjoyed the continental were it included.

Breakfast was great, fresh with a variety of options. The staff were amazing. Beautiful garden, perfect setting as you sip your morning tea. Staff were friendly and helpful providing us with suggestions to explore the city which has a lot to offer.

Coffee was a hit or miss situation. WiFi kept requesting a sign in after day one when we had already registered on it.

Unfortunately we did not have time to try the breakfast but I have no doubt that it would be amazing. Would love to try it on our next visit. The turn down service and the little brownies that were left out for us every evening was such a lovely touch. Their attention to detail made our stay that much more comfortable and enjoyable.

Loved Everything!

Beautiful location - we had the private pool suite, which was very spacious and luxurious. Lost of thoughful extras: little sweets for the evening, a yoga mat and weights for exercising outside, complimentary drinks and snacks, very comfortable beds, delicious breakfast! The staff was over the top attentive and helpful!
