Location, staff, meals, quiet and refreshing surroundings

The picnic was not value for money at all, and big a let down. I would recommend you make significant improvements to what you offer, or scrap the picnic option altogether. We could rather have ordered from the menu for less and sat on blankets, but the platter you offered wasn't good.

The Lodge is very beautiful, with fun activities. It’s very peaceful and enjoyable, especially if you love nature. All the gentlemen from quad bikes to the morning boat cruise made the trip memorable.

Ladies at reception can improve their hospitality. Mrs Zulu was very helpful and accommodating though in the reception area. We really appreciated her manner of approach and willingness to ensure that we are taken care of as guests. The pool must be heated. The lodge is deep in nature surrounded by a lake, heating the pool will ensure that people get to experience the beauty of the resort even during not so hot days.

I like the ambiance of the place, nice and secluded with spectacular views. The self catering chalet we had was well equipped with everything we would have needed for the vacation I had the most amazing back hot stone massage offered by Ms Ngeti, what a wonderful lady she is. The staff was amazing and the food was amazing. I really enjoyed my time there ❤️

Well the walking back to our chalet from the restaurant and pool area. It's a short but very uphill, incline kinda walk. I was extremely tired. Made us have to think twice about going to the restaurant or pool.

The location is absolutely stunning, the rooms are really beautiful immersed in the forest, and there is a lovely swimming pool overlooking the lake. Staff is also very kind!

The only downside is that the food is not always super tasty.. and it takes a very long time to come out. Also, I would recommend buffet breakfast so one doesn’t have to wait a long time for food to come through and can choose between a larger variety. If the quality of the dishes was improved as well as making the dishes come out quicker, it would be a truly excellent place to go to without any doubt! Finally, just a small not that there were many children on Saturday at the pool making it very difficult to relax.

EVERYTHING. WE LOVED THE PLACE

We went with cars and bakkies and some of our cars couldn't make it to the place...it was a distance to reach our destination from the main road and the roads were bad. And from the reception to our place we had to drive further in on bad roads we kept getting stuck. We also found a scorpion and rat in our rooms. But overall we loved the place its very nice, neat and the atmosphere is amazing.

The lodge is in such a beautiful location and great care has been taken to respect the natural environment. Fantastic views of Lake St Lucia. A nature lover’s paradise where one can do as much or as little as you like . The staff are fantastic and went to great effort to ensure our stay was memorable. The food was really good with the menu changing on a daily basis. Rooms are very comfortable with a small deck looking out over the lake .

This place is actually such a lovely experience. We went there as a couple on our honeymoon as part of a trip around South Africa and found this place on booking.com. We're so so glad we came here. The staff are really what made this place what it is. Every single person introduced themselves. Everyone was accomodating and was proactive - this is what differentiates transactional customer service with an experience that makes you feel valued and welcomed as a family member. Now, I must say that driving there should definitely consist of a 4x4 or high clearance vehicle. We made a massive mistake of driving there from richard's bay in a tiny red dishwasher of a car, in the pitch darkness. However, the staff know about these issues and actually all live locally (they even know how many hippos are in the lake!) So they came in a pick up truck to help navigate us when we got scared of the animals at night. Directions on Google are being fixed but I'd either recommend Waze or I'd recommend using the directions given by the hotel. We arrived about 20 minutes before a major storm so some activities were off the table (like visiting the wetlands as they were flooded!) For the rest of the week. Though we went on all other tours. Even when we didn't have cash to pay our driver for the big 5 safari (highly recommend) the lodge just paid it and billed us at the end, saving us yet again! When we asked to move rooms as it can get quite slippery and my wife's ankle is bad, they did it in 20 minutes. When we wanted laundry done before our next leg, they promised 24 hours and they did it in just over 12 (they were dried and pressed too!) To add to all of this, they've got board games and amazing cocktails and food to help you kill time. The food actually was a major highlight. We worked our way through the whole menu as it was so nice! The burgers are a highlight by the way! They even called us a few days prior to arrival to check our dietary requirements.

There were no dairy alternatives for any of the coffees so we went light on dairy while we were there. It wasn't a huge issue, though I can imagine you can out this explicitly in a request when they call you up a few days before to discuss dietary requirements.

The activities,eg. Boat cruise,quad bikes,we really had a great time Infact the entire lodge is perfect,the chalets,the view,the pool,the staff,all is great

Getting there was problem since we used the gps,we got lost and got stuck since we weren't driving a 4×4 but luckily we got people to assist us I suggest Nibela puts a board where most people get stuck to say don't turn and also gravel was too much so if you have a big car or 4×4 use it when going there
