The staff were all exceptionally friendly and accommodating. When we were placed in a smaller room than anticipated, they upgraded us efficiently to meet our needs. The venue was peaceful, easy to find, and close to amenities. The breakfast was good and substantial enough to sustain you for hours while Meandering in the Midlands. The room was neat and well-maintained.

The room above us had creaking floors which was very noisy in the evenings, disturbing sleep and relaxation. The wifi quality in the room was poor. It would also be useful to have a printed schedule of the load-shedding times to help visitors plan around the outages. There were cobwebs in the upper corners of the bedroom which I suspect they can't see in the daylight. Providing dish towels or paper towels for drying dishes would also be helpful.

The location was wonderful and off the main road. We had made alternative arrangements for breakfast with friends in Howick. The staff were efficient, friendly and helpful. The check in was smooth and the room had everything we required. Biggy Best was great value for money and we would come back.

The signage outside the property needs to reflect Biggy Best Cottages more prominently. The surrounding lawns need a little more maintenance

The location was very central to the event we were attending. The room was cozy and the heater was a bonus to warm us on arrival. Bed was comfy and everything was clean.

There were no coffee sachets on our second morning. We asked reception for bath towels around midday as we had to get ready for our wedding event, but these never arrived. Ended up both drying ourselves with the hand towel after our shower 😕

Great location. The bed was very comfortable with nice linen and enough warm bedding for the colder weather. The property was interesting with quirky elements including the occasional gargoyle. It felt like a country getaway in English countryside, even though it was located in the suburbs of Howick. The countryside feel of the property definitely lends itself to rooms that could be decorated with a little more cheerful colour but, regardless, the darker shades of decor definitely did not detract from the amazing comfort, good service and excellent full English breakfast and of course the kind little gestures like a chocolate on the pillow. We would stay there again.

Welcoming and pleasant staff. Clean and well appointed rooms with all necessary requirements. The beds were abit hard but all in all we were very happy with the accommodation which definitely exceeded our expectations.

The water pipes are quite noisy and the walls not particularly sound proof so early rises around you do disturb you when showering and talking.

Needs another lamp in the bedroom as if there are two people with only one bedside light, it's a little difficult to read. Also need to put up a notice that if the guest needs their towels changed for them to be left on the bathroom floor. Not economical to replace the towels every day of someone is staying for longer than a day.

The full English breakfast was delicious. The fact that my husband and I could sit by the outside fire for hours was an absolute haven. The staff were very accommodating and did not refuse any of our requests. Our stay was very good value for the price we paid.

A more diverse variety of coffee's should have been available.

The Bookings website gave the option to pay at the venue. However they charged the full amount blthe day before we arrived. And the notification came via email a day after we left. That must be remedied.

Modern and clean with a great restaurant on site. The lady who booked us in showed us everything in detail and made sure we were comfortable. The bistro served good food at reasonable prices. It was raining and we ordered the beef and Thai chicken Currys and it was delicious.
