Friendly staff, location, the fact that the hotel has back up electricity in the event of load shedding, great breakfast,cleanliness. The manager Eugene is very attentive to his guests, friendly and helpfull. Miamie in reception is very helpful and efficient. Maggie keeps up the cleanliness and even Thomos the guard on duty is friendly. All in all a well run, friendly base for us in Johannesburg, having moved to KZN, but still needing to do business in JHB occasionally. Thanks to all who always make our stay pleasant.

The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. It has a pleasant seating area overlooking a pool. The lunch menu is actually really good. Plenty to eat, really well cooked steak and well presented. Breakfast buffet too was really good.

Check-in was a bit random. The staff member didn't seem to have a clue about my booking (through bookings.com) and I had to confirm the price with him on my phone before finalizing the check-in. It was just a sticky and unclear as to what was actually going on. A booking through booking.com with a group like City Lodge should literally be the most seamless experience. The desk clerk perhaps was new but he wasn't the most pleasant to deal with. The shower pressure could have been better too. The TV channel availability was fine, except the quality of the TV and I suspect the DSTV signal wasn't good.

We booked the hotel for its proximity to the Sandton Medi Clinic. The hotel was perfect in almost every way . However we did not eat there. The stand out to us was the attitude of the staff towards guests. They went above and beyond to assist and their cheerful friendly attitude was a real example as to how guests should be treated.

We thought the carpeting in the passage and room was dated.

Conveniently close to St Stitians school for the sporting events. I enjoyed the lounge dining room area, and had a lovely pizza supper. The breakfast buffet looked amazing but sadly that was not included, so as a single guest paying R1020 a night, I think breakfast could have been included in the price. I actually thought breakfast was included when I booked. Those that had the buffet breakfast loved it, but at around R160 (I cant remember the exact price) , it was not worth it for me as dont eat meat so probably would just have had the scrambled eggs. All staff are nice. Love the outside pool courtyard area. Hope to be back there next year.

Good location, good breakfast and friendly accommodating staff

The soap etc was not replenished every day even though we had run out of soap, and the shower mat was taken away and not replaced, needing us to use a hand towel on the floor. We didn't receive any milk, cremora or sugar at our coffee station on both mornings, just tea and coffee, so you either drank it black unsweetened or not at all, which was rather disappointing,

Very convenient location. Excellent staff from housekeeping, reception, restaurant to management. Delicious meals! Clean, comfortable and secure.

My only suggestion would be to put a hotel sign up at the entrance gate? As a first timer at the hotel I drove around the block twice trying to find the entrance.

I liked the water and coffee station which was a nice touch. The location to where we needed to be was fantastic.

No bar fridges in room but not essential Couldn't get aircon to work

The rooms are functional but spacious and clean. The breakfast is very complete. The staff is friendly. We had our breakfast outside by the pool, very nice. Some might find the proximity of the busy avenue B. Frisher drive a problem but the noise level was quite acceptable.

The best service ever I have received from a front desk.

I was not aware that in the price no breakfast was included. So due to the fact the account was paid up in front by my company, i could not have breakfast. Thus, was not able to enjoy your beautiful buffe. Suppose I should have read better when I made the booking.
