Extremely kind staff. Perfect location. Pleasant property. Very competitive price.

Could have more amenities but perfectly suited for the park context.

The receptionist Lionet was exceptional. He made us feel very welcome, was competent and answered all of our questions. He even offered us a free room upgrade. The location is great - calm, green and next to the river. You can easily spend multiple days there and relax between safaris. The swimming pool is great on those hot days. And it is literally right next to the Crocodile Bridge Gate of the park. If you wanna do safaris from there, you park infront of the gate and get picked up from the gate. You don't need to pay the entrance fee on top, just the safari fee (~25€). You can even watch animals from your room. We saw warthogs and impalas, but no hippos or rhinos. The rhinos were rather seen near the Malelane Gate.

The curtains in the room did not block out the sunlight. The communal kitchen is separate and a few metres away from the room (the nicer rooms have the kitchen attached). Having some basic stuff (eg mugs, cutlery) in the room would be handy.

The location. Right on the Crocodile River. Superb views, elephant, Buffalo and hippo right in front of the fence. Easy access to Kruger. They have a generator that kicks in when loadshedding. Bed very comfortable. Completely functional "outside" kitchen - you do need to keep things lock away though. Monkeys always looking for an opportunity to steal food.

There was a bat nest in the roof of the kitchen....poop and urine on the kitchen counter. But it is the bush so one can't really get upset. It was cleaned daily.

Beautiful view and such rustic but cute accommodation. There were elephant and buffalo most afternoons in front of our little wood cabin. Could also hear hippos all day. The bed was extremely comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The lodge had on-site cats that would come and visit us every morning and afternoon that we absolutely loved. There is a generator on the premises so that guests are unaffected by loadshedding.

Make sure you book day visits to the park in advance. The lodge does warn you of this though when you book. The quota of the park gets reached by 8 am in the morning, so you will not be able to get in if you did not book a day visit in advance, especially on public holidays.

Excellent location - close and easy access into Kruger Park. Staff were amazing. My daughter got stuck in traffic in the dark - manager drove out to meet her and assist her getting to the lodge via a different route. Really went above and beyond what was required. He kept in contact with me through out and assured me that my daughter was safe. Once they got to the lodge he upgraded their room. Definitely a very good experience!

This is our second time staying at EWR and we definitely were not disappointed. We always stay at a few place, but this one is special and seems to be number 1 each time. A truly intimate experience with nature, and lovely amenities. One thing I must note, we left our camera case more than year ago, and it was returned to us as if it was just the other day. Thanks again to the team, we will certainly be back again soon, hopefully for longer this time.

Shortness of our stay 😀

The location is probably the best you can find besides being in Kruger. The log cabins are large and the views off the deck are out of this world. The aircon comes in very handy especially with the high temps during the day and at night. The hosts are very friendly and make you feel welcome. For the golfers - Not to be missed - Your location to the magnificent Kambaku golf club is ideal (10 mins drive)

Kitchen area is a little cramped but sufficient. Bats in the passage roof need to be removed as droppings in the morning and smell was evident Cobwebs on chandeliers and structural poles need to be cleaned properly as well as shower bases. (Basically just a thorough clean) Noise of the gas water heater could annoy some people

View from room was absolutely fantastic. First day we got there saw hippo and elephant just on the other side of the bank. Location less than 5 mins away from Crocodile Bridge fantastic if you’re going for morning drive.

Room felt a bit dark to begin with but other than that could not fault a thing.

The location is fantastic. Right at the Crocodile Bridge gate into the Kruger Park. Clean, crisp linen and soft towels, with a fully fitted kitchen. It was quiet and relaxing with elephant walking within a metre past the fence. Looking over the river to the Kruger park we saw Buffalo, wildebeest, hippo and of course elephant. We will definitely stay there again.

The buildings are in need of some TLC, both inside and out, but the furniture was beautiful with solid wood and Leather.

I mean...you can literally not get closer to the Kruger Park than this. Elephants actually crossed the Crocodile Reiver to come and inspect the fence, as did hippos and buffalo. The room size was fantastic (the unit we got even had an extra TV room + extra single bed), the braai (bbq) facility was clean and cleverly placed, the shower gave hot water at a good pressure! The beds were very comfy.

The entire unit had a VERY strong mothballs smell, mixed with some guano smell coming from the bats (mainly on the balcony). This was fairly well countered by opening all windows, but every time one came back from a trip into the Kruger (all windows have to be closed when one isn't there due to monkeys of course), then the smell hits you again. Minor gripe, but worth mentioning I feel.
