The place is beautiful and clean.

The doors were not locking and if they do we couldn’t unlock the door. The manager was not taking our request seriously and that was not the greatest thing because we couldn’t leave our things in the rooms.

I ddnt like the fact that we can’t take a take away, cause sometimes we don’t feel like eating a lot at the moment! So I think it’s better if we take something to eat later on

Everything was easy from check in,stay and check out. The place is breath taking and clean.the food was good also.

The lady who was at the dinner Buffet front desk,she was not friendly she couldn't even let us finish asking what we were enquiring as a result we ended up at the buffet dinner. while we were interested in getting the menu and order what we wanted for room service however she told us the rooms are too far for room service so I don't know why u offer room service if it becomes a problem to provide it services .

Spa! Food excellent! Room very clean and neat!!

I could not understand how guests can bring cooler boxes to the swimming pool area??? The bar at the pool was with out a barman?? When someone helped us we waited 45 min for a cocktail and a beer. That is probably why guests bring their own drinks!

Hunters Rest used to be a regular family vacation destination for us many years back. The children thoroughly enjoyed their stay and the facilities catered for that. Protea Hotel then took over and we visited once and were highly disappointed. We hadn't returned for some time. I happened to come upon an article where ANEW had taken ownership and reflected on a positive story a family had experienced. As I now have grandchildren I thought it was a great opportunity to revisit and rekindle old opportunities. It certainly is not as per the first time we visited. But certainly a vast improvement from our last visit. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the facilities are certainly well maintained. The staff are friendly and was fantastic to meet up with Jack again, who has been there for 35 years. Overall a very good experience.

I think the venue is limited to cater for very small children. Some of the building services (HVAC) need some service, depending on which room you stay in. But in general a very positive experience.

From the security guard, we received a warm and friendly greeting. The staff was quite friendly. The room was clean, as were all of the facilities, and the pool was clean and well-kept. The food is excellent and the vast, gorgeous garden/surroundings is breathtaking.

The rooms are lacking in personality for a four-star resort, particularly the bathroom and toilet, which are devoid of any sense of style. It is highly likely that the bathroom and toilet in your own home are superior to those at the resort. There is no brush for the toilet. It is undeniable that the rooms require a makeover. There were stains on the couch in the room, and it was really uncomfortable. The children playground needs to be improved. Unfortunately, we were never provided with the complimentary bottled water that was supposed to be provided in our rooms. Overall, we would 100% recommend the resort and we would visit again.

The accommodation is amazing, for a person who loves nature and being outdoors this was precisely to my liking, the staff who assisted with cleaning up the rooms were very friendly and and welcoming, the food is amazing and the morning staff were very friendly and of assistance at all times and I loved the fact that it’s kid friendly my babies had the time of their lives.

The beds where a bit stiff so sleeping on them throughout the night was very uncomfortable and painful considering one of the guests I had came with has back problems, and the dinner staff were horrible we hardly to never received proper assistance through the entire dinner which was very disappointing.

Spent a weekend at the resort, the check in process was efficient & pleasant, Vivian the reception lady was very pleasant & she assisted us with passion. Once fully checked in, we were shown the facilities around the hotel, the restaurant area, the bar, the pool etc. Went to our room, it was beautiful & spacious. The space was inviting & decorated with simplicity yet classic items. Our bed, linen & pillows were 100%. TV channels were very decent, there is a safe ( to keep your valuables, it works). There is a hairdryer for the ladies, a iron & an ironing board, very decent. Bathroom was clean & very spacious. Water pressure was 100% & very hot, plenty of towels in the bathroom. Tissues were provided ( but l advise to always have some extra packs when planning a visit). The bar fridge worked ( we thought our things were not going to fit in, we also had a cooler box to keep beverages with ice,since it was hot In the rustenburg area. Air con works ( but the air pressure is low, l think they need to check the gas in those aircon's). After unpacking, we went to the pool, very big & clean. So many people were swimming & enjoying themselves, look after your valuables when swimming as there are monkey's who love taking chances. First nite ended, we called the restaurant to order dinner. The restaurant Sent someone with a menu (we ended up settling for 2 pizzas , Mexicano & BBQ Chicken, very delicious. 2nd day, we had breakfast, the options very decent, the ladies at the restaurant were very welcoming & very pleasant. I real enjoyed the egg omelet, it was delicious. As for Activities there is an Activities center not far from the hotel. Pricing is very decent & it's affordable. Rusternburg town is just 13kms away from the Hotel, were went for dinner & the roads were decent in terms of potholes. 2nd nite ended, springboks won the world cup for the 4th time in the history of the Webb Ellis Cup.

1. Neatness 2. Rooms are not aged, maintained well 3. Poolside was well kept and managed 4. Food was good, some of the items did feel like they were a bit aged (kept out and reheated) 5. Staff was helpful at the kitchen and restaurant. 6. Kagiso (cleaned our room the first day) was an absolute gem of a person, room was done quick and was perfect. (Asset to the resort) 7. Werner the Manager was an awesome person....all over...everywhere but always making sure the guests are taken care off with a smile continuously!

1. Second day room cleaning - nothing was cleaned, not the dished, no sweeping, less clean towels left in the room. 2. Room was cleaned after 3pm? Not a good time as families are returning from the day out. 3. Some of the staff seemed upset, pulled up, bad day, not people friendly...type of people. 4. Resort staff between Front Desk, Housekeeping, Restaurant, Adventures etc. are all very siloed and at some point they need to be able to speak the same language. 5. After checkout, we received a phone-call about an outstanding amount and was asked to use an option to pay into a personal account which we refused. This should be settled at front-desk BEFORE the guest leaves not afterwards via. a phonecall afterwards. 6. Also, no invoice given for charges levied or outstanding.
