A great place with plenty of things to eat and excellent staff.

The only part I dislike is the fact that there was NO HOT WATER in the hotel, in the evening or in the next morning. I wanted to get washed, but the water was all shut down. If they had told me, I may have gone somewhere else. But no one told me until I found out myself.

The size of the room and the river view. The proximity to the lift and carport was very convenient. Our drinks in the bar, the dinner and breakfast were most enjoyable. The staff were very professional and we had great service.

The kettle seemed to have a loose wire and only worked sometimes.

The staff are warm, friendly and professional. The location is safe and secure. Parking is secure and well lit. With load shedding they have a generator which helps so you’re not left in the dark. The restaurant’s meals were great quality. We left early the next day and they packed us a breakfast to go. Worth the stay!

Upon checkout they wanted to swipe our card even though we have prepaid for the room through Booking.com.

The hotel is in town and on the river. The management and staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

Nothing stood out during our stay at the hotel, except that some of the cutlery and crockery was dirty. Once pointed out it was swiftly dealt with by the staff on duty.

The Room was stunning, beautifully set out, very spacious and an awesome Bathroom.. Breakfast was out of this world with so much variety to choose from. The bunnies ornaments were such a lovely touch too All staff from the cleaning ladies, barman, breakfast waiters to the receptionist were extremely friendly and very helpful. Definitely 10 out of 10

The View of the Orange River could have been more visible, from our River Facing Room.

I have not had bacon grilled the way they grill it. Every other hotel I have ever stayed at should come and learn how bacon should be grilled at Upington Protea Hotel. It is a very small detail, but every morning before breakfast I thought I was just lucky the previous morning and 6 mornings out of 6 I was not disapointed. Staff are friendly. I asked to be moved to a room with a river view after the first night, and got moved without a hassle at no extra cost. Wifi is very fast and stable throughout the building. My room was very comfortable and had a great view over the Orange river.

Spacious rooms with comfortable beds and river view. Safe parking. Lovely breakfast with variety. Staff were very friendly and accepted our request for a change of rooms. The excellent Red Ox restaurant is a short walking distance

Swimming pool small and behind fence and does not look inviting but I understand it is for safety reasons

The Breakfast was good and we have enjoy it. Staff was friendly and helpful. Service was also excellent.

Dinner - choices was limited and some of the dishes couldn't be serve with all the ingredients.

The lady bath the reception on arrival was trying to charge me more than what I had been quoted on Booking.com and we had to go back and forth arguing luckily I had the email confirming how much I had been quoted

Food fantastic, staff friendly

Arrangements and communication between Booking.com and the hotel. The description of the rooms were not the same. I booked a special more expensive room for my son and wife and then we got the same rooms.
