Ah, the joy of returning to this marvelous establishment! Our second stay proved to be nothing short of splendid, if not surpassing our previous experience. The rooms, oh so spacious and impeccably maintained, offered a sanctuary of comfort. Every desire was catered to with utmost care and attention. Oh, the views! They were nothing short of breathtaking, painting our days with pure serenity. Our taste buds danced with delight during our fantastic dinner at their exquisite restaurant, and the staff, oh-so-helpful, made our stay all the more memorable. Whenever we find ourselves in Upington, this is undeniably our go-to destination. Although we temporarily sought refuge elsewhere during a fully booked night, returning here was an absolute relief. Without a doubt, this remarkable haven offers the pinnacle of accommodation and experiences in Upington.

There is nothing I didn't like except when I had to leave.

The location is wonderful and the staff are fantastic. Really helpful, nice people who make one feel very at home and looked after. The room is well equiped with decent quality fittings, comfortable bed, nice linen. The bathroom is a reasonable size. It was clean. Nice breakfast with delicious sourdough bread on hand. Great coffee available. Very pleasant ambience in the dining room.

I have stayed before. Since I was alone this visit, I selected a standard room. I thought it was just a little smaller but turns out it is tucked away at the back with no view. Pity that is not made clearer when booking. I would rather have paid more the for a deluxe room. Half the light bulbs didn't work and the USB wall plug didn't work. The wifi connection was too weak to use. In the dining room, the coffee machine was clogged with old coffee and had to be cleaned before it could be used. After really loving my previous visit, this time was a bit dissapointing.

Breakfast was served with seating near windows looking out towards the Orange River. If I had wanted, I could have eaten outside closer to the river and the beautiful white roses that were being attended to for a wedding the coming weekend. The scent of roses filled the air. Of course, the breakfast equaled the best with many choices. Hot coffee for me, fresh bread and fruits plus a menu…I had an omelet one morning and eggs Benedict the next. Delicious. The staff really took care of me and I appreciated their consideration of my early arrival. The rooms are fabulous…the views are even better, but the staff was exemplary. I’m a repeat guest and I will return

The room I stayed in was so spacious, clean, and cozy! I loved the bath and the big fluffy dressing gowns! As I walked outside of my room, the orange river was right there. It was fantastic sitting by the river and having a glass of wine before dinner. Highly recommend the lamb shanks for dinner if you're there! Breakfast was delicious with so many options to choose from. I would recommend this place to anyone going to Upington!

The hotel is located with great views of the Orange River. Staff were friendly and efficient. The breakfast was included and was very good with a great variety of options to choose from. Great place for a stop over en-route to the Kgalagadi

The WiFi is not very good and only around 5mbps. I had to use my on DATA sim/4G to get some work done but that is workable for me, but maybe not for international travelers. All in all, I cannot fault the place.

Breakfast was included and exceptional. Our room had a view on the river which was a real bonus. The location is n a working farm, which was nice (despite the fact that the recent floods did cause some damage to the road) It is out of town but very close to all the places you typically want to visit.

I cannot think of anything. Even the weather was to our favor. The Manor will definitely be high up on our list the next time visit Upington.

Location. Easy to access external facilities. Property is well kept, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was great( got to have the lamb shank).

The air-con in the room was leaking water and it is fitted directly above the head of the bed. Over a period of time the bed was wet and unfortunately it was the side my wife slept. This is an easy fix but overall the stay was exceptional.

Evening meal and accommodation was very good. Staff were very attentive and knowledgeable regarding the local area.

There were some roadworks progressing at the entrance to the hotel. The staff on the intercom did not advise us to use a alternative route and opened the gate. This resulted in a tricky reversing of our car on a path under construction. A notice needs to be put at the main entrance to clearly show the alternative route.

We spent a night at River Place Manor en route to the West Coast and Namaqualand. The room was spacious, bed was comfortable and the view over the river and hotel garden was beautiful. Breakfast was scrumptious, what a wonderful selection that was all well prepared. Staff were attentive and helpful, especially in sorting out a billing issue.

The only minor negative aspect was a slight sewerage smell in the bathroom.

I liked everything about the property, more especially the location along the orange river. The neighbourhood is quite and provides a peace of mind, enjoying the view of the orange river, nature and the sunrise and the sunset. The pool is very beautiful. Rooms are clean and very comfortable and you feel safe around the place with security guard in the parking area. The most important is how friendly and welcoming the staff is, from receptionist to waiters & even the security guard. really enjoyed my stay
