My room was facing the pool and river and it was huge ,clean and comfortable. Their buffet breakfast was delicious. I had dinner at the hotel and i must say their steak and pork ribs are to die for, delicious.

the place was under construction and there was a bit of noise now AND then, but not too much. The DSTV had only 3 channels and for me it was a bit boring, rather they do streaming channels( like Netflix)

The room is beautiful and very big, it was very comfotible. Had a beautiful view, very calm and relaxing, the staff at reception and at lunch was very helpfull, very romantic room

The room needs a bit of maintice like the cracking in walls and paint. And fix up the curtain rails a bit. Its just plain maintince. The breakfast staff can be a bit more friendly

The pool is very clean and the atmosphere was great!

The shower door was broken, and the room was not prepared upon my arrival, beds were only made after 21:00.

The reception staff were all very friendly and helpful during our stay. The hotel porters were helpful and very friendly as well. The location is wonderful with views on the Vaal River and the Golf club next door. The Hotel gardens are beautifully kept and lends to a tranquil atmosphere. We had a boat ride on the river which was very relaxing and highly recommended. The restaurant staff are all very efficient and friendly and the food is good. Vusi at the restaurant walked the extra mile for us. We played Pitch and Putt next door at the Golf Club and was yet again, just like last year, treated wonderfully by Meshack. The parking area is very safe as a result of very competent and alert security staff.

Although our room was clean when we arrived, we had to ask for towels on our first day and on every other day afterwards. The room would be cleaned but the towels won't be replaced and sometime we also had to ask for toilet rolls and tea and milk and sugar! So much so, that we decided to buy our own. In my humble opinion I think the cleaning staff need better training. I actually mentioned this also last year after our visit (2023) and nothing has changed. This causes unnecessary frustration.

Lack of beverage options

I loved everything the resort had to offer. The view is stunning. I enjoyed the look and feel of the resturant and that in our room we had a basin and frigde. Also that we had water and coffee offered. We attended the show and that was out of the world. Enjoyed every minute. Liked that we had a aircon for the cold mornings. it really helps. The resort staff is friendly.

We would like to bring up the following: * The painting in the room did not match the room. * The head boards made a noise every time we turned around on the bed. * The shower water did not go out fast, it dam'd a bit. * Matthews Resturant offers poor quality food, We asked for toasted cheese and tomota sarmies, we got toasted bread and grated cheese and tomoto on a screwer. Cost us R 132.00. Tasted bad and not value for money. We did not even consider the breakfast. Also Staff at the Resturant are unfriendly or helpful. * Boat is lovely, need a little bit of variety on the lady drinks. * The phone did not work and on Saturday evening the fire alarm went off, we as the guest did not know what to do. I think that should be looked at as well as where is the fire extinguishes.

The view of the vaal River was amazing, gardens were neat. Rooms were neat and tidy

There was only one lift working, we waited a while and to carry bags upstairs ourselves , pillows were too soft and old, clearly havent been changed in a while. There are other functions at the Riviera eg boat rides and church so parking is a definite issue as we couldnt get in the premises for 30min, weekends are problematic and no special parking for us guests that actually pay and i requested special parking.

The reception was great Friday when we arrived staff was helpful.

They didn't change the towels after taking a bath. They just folded the same towels. At the the kitchen staff were not friendly during breakfast and the fact that it's a buffet breakfast but they dish up for us. It was a no no. And the lady who was doing the eggs was not friendly at all.

Hotel view is marvelous. The biggest bed I have ever seen. The bar staff and cleaning lady be blessed. There was a double payment with my credit card. Staff lady from accounts very professional she helped me and went all out to make sure I get my refund on the same day. I forgot her name but she is the reason I might come back

The breakfast was horrible. The mushrooms were sweet. The eggs not fresh. The wors full of cooking oil. On Wednesday 27 and Thurs 28 March 2024 we had the worst chef. The omelet was done by a beginner. It was my birthday celebration that was ruined. I regret moving from the previous resort.

Friendliness and helpfulness of resturant, reception and welcoming staff. I also like the beauty of facility. It is easy to locate ans near other facilities like malls. I knew the names of almost everyone at the reception when I arrived on Friday because they were so friendly and professional when the booking was done.

The disturbance of the maintenace staff especially on the last day of our stay. The check out time is 11h00 and getting a knock on the door at 10h00 it was a bit of a turn off for me. That says in not so many words it is time for me to vacate the premises. I had to call reception to confirm the check out time. I also did not like the noise coming from the next door neighbor. It was like they were shifting the furniture without lifting chairs.
