the hotel staff are very friendly this is what makes the hotel. The rooms were bright and clean. the pool area was nice and relaxing to sit around if I can give some feedback on some small improvements - floor length mirror in rooms - more water to be provided one small bottle not enough between two - air conditioning units are very noisy and not very effective in the rooms - put some scrambled eggs out in the buffet rather than having to wait for the egg ladies - better access to Taxis. very difficult to get one from hotel - have extendable mirror in bathroom for shaving, my husband found shaving very difficult because the mirror is behind the sink

the noise. there were a lot of functions on and people partying round the pool area until 1-2am. the next day there was lots of broken glass by the pool. this needs to be stopped or time limited

What an amazing hotel, an hour from Sandton and right in the Vaal River. Safe secure parking and a warm welcome into the item at reception. We were shown to our room which was a twin.(this was asked for) Room was amazing with great air conditioning. We then spent time in the fantastic gardens and by the pool. Time for dinner and we had an incredible meal in the restaurant. Great comfortable beds were slept in and woke up and had again a brilliant buffet breakfast. If you want a brilliant getaway where nothing is too much effort for the staff, then this is it. I could not fault a thing about this hotel. This will definitely be our getaway from now on. Also kid friendly!

Absolutely nothing!! All was fantastic.

The hotel location on the river makes it a ideal location. It suited my requirements for the distance I travelled to other commitments. The hotel seems to offer a lot of options and amenities, should it not be fully booked.

at 8:30am I had to wait for 25 minutes as a single person for a table for breakfast. And then I ended up being placed in a wedding hall without any windows. As they seem to have preference for families at the original breakfast dining area. When originally booked in and paid, it seems that you get the parking lot facing rooms as they need to unload it, unless you go back and ask for a river view room, then only you have the opportunity, but you still have to pay an additional R300 for the view. It should be stated as such on the website and on Bookings.com

General service, breakfast had variety, staff was friendly

Tiles in shower were a little slippery and a safety hazard (the rubber mat didn't hold and was also sliding on the tiles, so couldn't be used) Toasted cheese & onion sandwiches ordered from room service was poorly made and not appetising. It consisted of 1 slice of processed cheese and loads of onions, and triple layer bread making it very bready. It didn't taste good at all. This is quite a simple dish that you shouldn't get so wrong.

The variety of food options offered by the buffet. The room was very spacious and comfortable.

-The pool side menu didn't offer many platter options (e.g wings, riblets, samoosas, waffles and ice cream). - The room did not have the hotel directory booklet, to advise me on wich buttons to call incase need to reach reception, also just with the reminder of what was mentioned during check-in, incase i was too excited to recall. -For a family room, could the hotel increase the number of water bottles they put in fridges.

The location on the river is stunning and sitting on the balcony having sundowners was very pleasant indeed. The food was very good with at least the option of light meals and a very good breakfast spread. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed

I ordered a white wine on the menu from the bar and it was not readily available , they had to go track it down from stores and it would not have been well chilled, I had a red wine instead but not my first choice

The staff were amazing especially Melissa and Lily on reception. The rooms and all public areas are clean and the room cleaning staff are lovely and so efficient and do a fabulous job. Pool area and outside seating near the river are lovely and relaxing and we used this space a few times. We ate lunch from the bar and used the room service menu twice and it was great. We had breakfast each morning which had a varied fruit choice each day which I appreciated and eggs cooked to order, pancakes, continental and different cooked foods too.

Even though it was out of season it would have been nice to have service at the pool and outside area with a member of the bar staff popping out there every now and again to take orders.

Breakfast buffet was perfect for the rest of our stay, my children and I enjoyed everything.

Dinner could be improved a bit , 1st night which was 31st Dec dinner was good but 2nd day which was 1st Jan, it didnt go so well. Steak was too spicy and too salty, we had to turn it back and other meals didn't have any flavours etc. Family rooms are too small and number of chairs and tables in the pool area should be increased. Other than that, everything was perfect

The staff is very welcoming, all of them that I interacted with. The food is very good. The location is excellent especially when you want some peace and quiet on the river banks of the Vaal River. I was able to do my work without interruptions and the hotel was kind enough to offer me their boardroom.

The air freshener in the lobby is just too strong for anyone who have sinuses - and the scent of the air freshener is suitable for the toilets not living spaces. I think you can improve on this aspect.

The location was the best peace and quietness. The hotel was clean, bathroom spacious and breakfast awesome. A great view of the garden, so serene. Pity the weather was not so good for a swim. The Chef was friendly and a people's person. I normally struggle with pillows, but, I slept like a baby. A weekend away I needed, and the experience made it worth my while. This is now my fav place in the Vaal area!!
