Everything was great! We travelled as a 3 in late July and the price was quite cheap, the beds were full sized and had a good amount of space between them. The floor, cabinets and drawers were all clean. There was a TV and working remote that had about 12 Spanish channels. There were enough chairs for all of us. The room was well air-conditioned. There was a common dining area where we could eat and get utensils if we brought our own food. There was also a clean-looking pool outside. Every person working on the front desk was cheerful, polite and funny. The location is about a 10 minute walk from the beach, and 5 minutes from many clothes shops, corner shops, restaurants, tourist shops and bakeries. It is close to a main town square where many children under 12 had things to play on for free. Honestly really great value with no complaints apart from the bathroom. (Also I forgot to take my money and valuables with me one time, and when I came back, I could see housekeeping had been there and they had left all my valuables alone, which I obviously appreciated!)

The only thing to improve (and the reason for my rating be a 9 and not a 10) on was the bathroom. It was as clean as it could be, but the bottom of the bath had some stains, and any time the door to the bathroom was open, the smell of sewage would fill the adjoining bedroom almost immediately. There was no extractor fan in the bathroom. The smell could be combatted by keeping both the bathroom door open, and the bedroom window to create some air flow.

Hotel Matalascañas was the perfect place for our beach holiday. The location was perfect, being close to the beach, lots of restaurants and bars, and supermarkets. The room was very comfortable with a beautiful balcony, very clean and comfortable. The hotel has a great system where although they don't do breakfast (hot drinks are provided), you can take your own food and store it in the fridge, and they will provide you with all the necessary things for serving and eating it (including a microwave!). This worked perfectly for my wife and I, as it allowed us to have breakfast whenever we wanted and was exactly what we'd chosen :) The best thing about Hotel Matalascañas is the amazing staff. Even though we don't speak Spanish, everyone made us feel super welcome, especially Làura and Andrii, who were always available (and English-speaking) at reception to help us with everything we needed. We'd never been to Matalascañas before, but we'll definitely go again, and would love to stay at Hotel Matalascañas again ❤️

We really liked the hosts. They were really helpful and always had the best advice about places to go. The place was clean and the bed comfortable.

The only thing that was quite annoying was that in the weekend it got quite noisy because the walls are very thin.

No breakfast available at the hotel just a good cup of coffee , but there was cafe very near for coffee and toast so not too much of a problem to us.

We found it hard to find, but we couldn't pick up any wifi for google maps so I suggest printing out the directions and taking them with you!

The staff spoke English and were very kind; I checked in after 11pm and there was no problem; the room was clean and a perfect size for my family. There were 2 balconies and the area was clean and quiet. The beds were very comfortable

Fantastic small hotel in Matalascanas. Very comfortable room & bathroom. Very clean. Extremally helpful hotel staff. Very quiet location. 10min walk from the beach. Very nice balcony.

Interaction with one of the staff. He was not clear with his communication that resulted in a surprise to pay for the coffee which was misunderstood to be complimentary. The hotel is responsible to communicate clearly to customers to avoid confusion and misunderstanding.
