The Parador is an exceptional historical building that is very well converted into a hotel. We arrived in town at 3pm, on a Sunday, and were worried about getting lunch. No problem: great lunch in the restauurant, which did not close until 4pm.

Unfortunately, the advertised opening of the restaurant at 8pm for dinner did not occur (nor at 9, nor at 10). No explanation, no warning from the staff, even though we had enquired about dinner. The breakfast is OK (definitely no more than that; I cannot agree with more positive reviews). A reasonable buffet, with the possiblitly to order a hot dish. The omelette was freshly made, and good. The scrambled eggs were rubbery and the bacon was greasy and flabby. Not worth €19 per person. Not even close. This was almost as bad as an English hotel breakfast.

Beautiful room

We went to breakfast and asked for eggs and coffee and tea and toast and were told that we could not stay in the restaurant and eat as it was only tor buffet. After complaining about this at the restaurant and at the front desk, we were told nothing could be done about it. So we brought the breakfast to our room and the eggs and toast were not even warm by then. The woman at the front desk said we still would be charged the 10 euros for the breakfast. Bad form!

Breakfast and regional specialty dishes were very good, as was the enthusiasm of the waiters and staff. The location was excellent in relation to the sights of the town, but hard to get to on our first night through narrow streets. The building is a work of art in itself.

We didn't get the instructions telling us to avoid using the car's satnav on first arriving. Not the Parador's fault: they did send it. But we did have hair-raising journey up narrow alleys to get there, and we were not clear about parking arrangements.

spacious room, clearly with long history

only 2 things, found the bedroom door very hard to lock. the locks look they’re the originals .. key stiff to turn. separately an elderly couple were staying, 1 with mobility issues. There seems to be no wheelchair access as you enter the hotel. they were ok inside as staying on ground floor. but it was difficult for them to make the stairs into reception.

Fantastic location. Great staff, very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was ok but we’re jaded after visiting Asia where their breakfasts are ‘out of this world’. Ubeda is a small city, very walkable. One or two nights was enough to see all the sights. If you want to learn about their monuments and significant spots in any language but Spanish, though, you’ll need to get a guide (which is easy to do).

The location of the Parador is second to none. Our room faced the Generalife giving us stunning views as the sun set. Food (breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant) were excellent. The ability to enjoy the Alhambra early or late at night was a wonderful bonus

We had superior rooms and a view over a beautiful square. The restaurant and patio menu were very good. The location was perfect and parking was easy. All was spotlessly clean and staff so friendly and helpful.

amazing building location for exploring the town was amazing. lovely room very comfortable

no parking very near so have to drag bags a distance. this is because the town is very old with extremely narrow streets so most parking on the edge. evening meal was ok but no atmosphere

beautiful historic parador in perfect location to explore this wonderful town

no kettle or refreshments in room which we are finding with all the places we are staying - assuming because of covid regulations. however the bar is operating so you can enjoy tea/ coffee etc in the wonderful courtyard etc. this is not the case with our current hotel!! all those services withdrawn. we’ll done parador!

Excellent dinner, although the menu is a little confusing, all mixed up. The breakfast was a bit disappointing,as opposed to previous stays at parador hotels.

Breakfast could have been better. The toaster is so slow and after 3 times in it my bread was eventually brown.
