The hotel is just a few minutes off the main highway system so good for traveling especially north or south for travelling to and from France and Spain. It isn't exactly the prettiest location but very convenient. The price was excellent at £49.00 for the night. Thank you to the reception staff for being so helpful when I arrived exhausted from Estepona some 780km away.

Direct location not pretty but very convenient for north / south travel. Relatively easy access for local Repsol garage - unless you take the wrong direction to return to the road - I was fined 100 euros for turning left when apparently I should have turned right then down to a turning to come back. The Garda Ci.vil were very polite and helpful despite the situation - thanks

The staff, everyone was very charming and professional. They seemed most sincere whenever they showed interest in how my stay was unwinding. Impeccable manners.

The parking area was pretty packed at times, so it was difficult to find a parking spot. I would suggest reserving a few spots exclusively for hotel guests, or else allow guests to park in the hotel’s walled area for free whenever parking outside becomes challenging.

Nice and easy to get to. Nit far from the motorway. The food was very good and very cheap. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. English was spoken very well at the reception, which made check-in easy. If you're looking fir pit stop on the way down from the ferry. This is the best value We didn't opt for breakfast as we were on a tight schedule.

Room smelt smoked in at some point, but overly bad.

Everything, for me it was almost perfect. comfortable, clean and reasonably priced. it is away from town but this is not a problem for me as I just needed an overnight stop. The evening meal was a bargain, 3 courses and a bottle of wine was exceptional value for 14 Euros. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Location next to motorways, easy access by public transport into Salamanca. Exceptional friendly and very helpful staff. Bar and restaurant highly recommended, evening meal was delicious, three courses including bottle of wine €14, along with excellent service. Free secure parking.

Nothing not to like.

The hotel was very convenient for pulling off the main road travelling to Santander, for a overnight stop. The staff were exceptionally good, very helpful and friendly. The 3 course evening menu was exceptionally good value at €13.50, including some drinks The beds were comfortable and rooms clean. Will definitely stay again

The furnishing in the room and bathroom were dated.

This was our third overnight stay at the Helmántico which is ideally situated on our way from France to Anadalucía. The reception staff are always pleasant and help me with my limited Spanish. The beds are very comfortable and the shower is very good - after a long day’s drive both are important.

The bathroom door was difficult to open from inside. One of us had to push hard from outside the bathroom so that the person inside could get out. I mentioned this to the person on duty at reception as we were leaving and he made a note of the problem.

Although this is a pretty basic business hotel, it feels like a family run place. Staff without exception, were lovely. Really friendly and eager to please. Really decent, and not expensive restaurant attached to the hotel.

Overall the hotel decor is a little dated, but it is very clean and well maintained so not really an issue.

Stop over on our way to Santander, The hotel exceeded my overall expectations, from reception hall to bedrooms and friendly staff. We had 2 very clean and comfortable bedrooms. ADDED BONUS-- we could park our 4 motorcycles on the underground parking which was locked overnight! Wish we had stayed longer, will definitely return.

Our fourth stay. Ideally located for us, easy to get to, staff are excellent, food is good. What’s not to like? We will be travelling down to Andalusia later this year; if we go the same route, we will be staying there again.
