This was an excellent hotel in a great location. The gardens and pool were very good and the room was generally great. The staff were lovely providing very good and friendly service. The lunch menu and food was really good. The evening buffet was okay but not as brilliant as the rest of the hotel. The one comment would be the bed - there was a very cheap and nasty plastic mattress protector that was really uncomfortable and caused a lot of sweat; whilst the need for mattress protectors are understood there are much, much better ones available.

The truly horrible mattress protector that was like a crinkled, uncomfortable piece of cheap plastic.

Hotel is in a great location right next to the fort. The room was very comfortable and the hotel overall was very pleasant, the building could probably have been bigger but would have impacted on the facilities. Staff were all very friendly and above all, we got no menacing calls to check-out on time.

The food at both breakfast and dinner wasn't great, choice was quite limited and the coffee was dire. It would have been nice to walk from the hotel, through the park (in the shade) to the fort but the gate was locked and we were obliged to walk down to the main road.

Beautiful property, unbeatable location 5-10 min walk from Galle Fort, very decent pool size and great pool area. The room was really big, nice jacuzzi and view, good espresso machine otherwise not really standard for Sri Lanka

The staff was acting slow and disoriented, extortionate rates asking for a quote to Colombo (finally twice cheaper elsewhere). The main restaurant where we had our HB food served was like a battlefield probably due to local residents staying with extended families, the pool bar service is literally a joke especially keeping the price range in mind, just don't bother to order, the 2 bartenders were a disgrace

Good territory. Good location near the centre of the city but still really calm, quiet and without big crowds. Friendly staff who really tries to help. We had everything that we need in our room. Food ordered to the room was really good.

Dirty ocean, but it is a problem of all Galle, so it wasn't a fault of the hotel. Staff couldn't help with most of our problems. The food in the restaurant wasn't really tasty for most of us, so it was hard to fully enjoy the meal.

This is the closest modern large resort just outside the Fort as there is nothing like this inside the Fort. Whilst close "as the crow flies" to get there is a long walk down a ugly street or best get a short tuk tuk ride to the Fort. Meals were excellent with a huge selection buffet for dinner and breakfast (can't comment on the lunch as we only had breakkie and dinner here). Nice view over the ocean and very close view of the Fort from the property.

I spoke to the Duty Manager about this. We had specifically planned to watch the sunset and this had even been mentioned in a phone call to the Manager. Our original plan was to go to the Fort for the sunset but was told we could get a great view from our room balcony. Disappointingly as we started to watch the sunset gardeners smoked out the entire area with anti-mosquito clouds that forced us inside. The plume of smoke was so large it blocked out everything. I have suggested to management they reschedule this spraying until 15 minutes after sunset. I agree the spraying is important but the timing was wrong and needs correcting so you do not impact one of your selling points about this hotel "sunsets from your balcony".

Beautiful resort by Galle Fort. Amazing sunset views and great atmosphere. Very good breakfast and lunch by the pool have very good selection. Staff is very friendly and attentive and helpful. They made sure to bring a cake for our son’s birthday to our room and balloons. We stayed there 2 nights and we came back few days later to stay 3 more nights. We will definitely come back again. It’s 3 minutes away by tuk tuk to the main entrance of the Fort.

We stayed at the ocean view suite and the room could use better cleaning maybe steam cleaning the couch and rugs.

We stayed in the ocean view room and it was beautiful. The rooms are quite big and spacious. We liked how every part of the property had the view of the ocean when you walk in. Breakfast was great, especially the Srilankan delicacies. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The best part was the pool and jacuzzi where you can spend good couple of hours, bonus points for the pool water being heated! Overall great stay!

The spa was under renovation which was a bummer!!

Our suite was amazing - huge, well equipped and our own pluge pool. It was very well cleaned everyday and refreshments topped up throughout the day The view from the hotel was exceptional, and the main pool and bar were great places to sit. Big breakfast buffet, with a changing menu and onsite chefs to cook waffles, eggs etc. Nice lunch and dinner menus

Some facilities didn't seem to be available - our directory mentioned cocktail making in the room, but when we asked reception, they didn't know and then didn't get back to us Staff were very nice, but we missed the 'sri lankan' charm - except for a few we didn't see openness and friendliness we'd experienced elsewhere

Very good location near historical attractions (church, fortress, old town, museums, lighthouse, etc.). Shops are within walking distance. Hotel territory, beautiful clean, view of Galle Fort and Clock Tower. Nice big pool for swimming, good beach chairs and umbrellas, gym, tiny beach. The room is spacious and has everything you need, sofa, large bed, cupboards, TV, bathtub, shower, balcony, view. A very good breakfast selection and if there is a Swedish table during dinner, there is also a very good meal selection. The fixed menu offered for dinner is long and also has enough options. If you don't like spicy food, you must say so. If necessary, you can take a breakfast package with you.

The bed was a bit hard for me. The air conditioner could have been quieter. The noise of the crows was disturbing. Everything else was very good and I recommend staying at this hotel.
