The hotel is located on a hill, a few minutes from the main road and the beach. Within walking distance of Coconut Tree Hill. Nearby there is a cool Petti Petti restaurant and several coffee shops. I liked MACO, the coffee there is great. The hotel staff is unobtrusive and friendly, they helped us if we needed anything. A delicious omelette, fresh fruits, sausages, toast and some pastries were served for breakfast. We lived in a large room with a spacious bathroom with panoramic windows. Minimalistic design, pleasant stone floor. The balcony overlooking the jungle, where we had coffee in the morning. There were no problems with hot water, electricity, or air conditioning. WiFi was fast enough. In the pool, we took a lot of cool pictures with a view of the jungle.

Minor flaws did’t spoil the overall impression and atmosphere. Some things could look a little outdated than at the photo’s. It should be understood that the hotel is located next to the sea, so the materials are subject to erosion very quickly. There was no fresh coffee at breakfast, but there are a lot of places nearby, so was not a problem for us. The only thing that marred our stay here was renting a scooter through the contact we received from the personal. Himasha rented us a small, very old and rusty scooter. And the taxi driver, who was ordered for us by this guy, asked for a higher price than agreed right in the middle of the trip.

We had a problem because I booked this hotel thinking it was on the beach as there are 2somerset hotels .I had booked the one up the hill just off the beach with the infinity pool.I wanted beach as we had travelled for over a week and wanted to rest a while. I looked at the room it was beautiful but had a mountain view .we swapped our booking to the beach. This wasn't as immaculate as the other hotel but on the beach.the staff were lovely. The breakfast was not too good. Not what I would expect for the money. They did have an egg person to do omelette. The food on the beach was a separate business as well so no guarantee of a sun bed and you had to say you would buy food . The food was excellent but the service was so slow. Omg 😱 Worth the wait as we were on holiday. Lots of places to eat locally.

Fly's and mosquitos in the hotel.the cleaner only did what I asked her to do. We had to keep asking for water and coffee. The place needed a good tidy up outside.

I have travelled to more than 50 countries and being to many hotels, so without fear I highly recommend Somerset Mirissa, it was very clean, the room was decent with a beautiful view over the pool and nature. The staff was very welcoming with a fresh local juice. I felt very safe and very comfortable. I personally don't even understand the bad reviews because honestly nothing was to complaint about. P.s: there is a short 5min hill walk from the main street but nothing exhausting and totally doable even with kids.

Tucked away just barely out of reach of the "hustle and bustle" of the main strip at Mirrissa, Sommerset Mirissa is a real gem. Very easy to get to via tuk-tuk or by walking but when you arrive you feel that you're in the middle of the jungle. The infinity pool overlooks the treetops teeming with birds and at least two species of frequent primate visitors. The entire hotel was recently constructed, very well-kept, and clean. I would highly recommend a stay at Sommerset Mirissa whether for families, couples, or solo-travelers with a moderate budget and a desire for a more comfortable stay than what's available in other locations.

The infinity pool was nice, very shallow, so more of a lounging pool, rather than one to do laps in. The twin room was spacious and clean and modern decor. Hotel itself was very nice and blends with the scenery. The breakfast was buffet style, a mixture of western and Sri Lankan style deserts - decent food. The AC was very good.

The hotel is situated up a short hill, steep but walkable. The neighbours do not necessarily give off the best vibes, but we didn't face any problems with them. The WiFi was quite poor, it only worked when we were sat on the balcony, which was a problem as I was planning to work whilst staying there. The hotel listed as having cooking classes available, one of the reasons for booking this hotel, which was not the case when we enquired in person at the front desk.

The pool was beautiful. The room has very good AC! Great stay! Reception was very sweet and she hailed us a tuktuk to go for dinner as their restaurant was closed.

There was no AC in the breakfast area or reception as it is half outside so very hot. Also very steep hill to go up to the location and also no dinner was available. No hot water available- only room temperature

The staff were so nice to help us move from one of their other two hotels to this beach location for no extra charge. This location is on the beach and nice swimming, snorkeling, restaurants on the beach, etc. The beach here known to see turtles while snorkeling especially morning times. A fairly protected two areas due to reefs further out. Beautiful waves breaking further out.

A simple but sufficient restaurant.

Fabulous little hotel, great location just a short walk across the road from the beach and many restaurants. Hotel has a lovely pool and backs onto the jungle which is so pretty and peaceful. Hotel is up a small hill but nothing to strenuous even in the heat. Breakfast is okay
