A big thank you to all the staff who was really attentive from the beginning to the very end. We really appreciated whole team including the chef because the food was really good and diversified. Dinner and breakfast package, top! The room was really nice and clean, maybe the bed was not the most comfortable but everything else was great. The place is really cute next to the tea plantation over the city, the garden is really beautiful.

It's not really from the hôtel but on our 3rd night a bunch of dogs were barking and playing in the garden at 2am... It was not every night but when you come to a place for vacation you're looking for rest and a good sleep. Maybe the fence should be closed where it's still possible for the dogs to enter the premises.

This is a gem in Nuwara Eliya. Small hotel which gives you a « home feeling». We were here for two nights and had a great experience! The surroundings are so beautiful, you can walk up to the tea plantations. We asked to have breakfast outside both days and it was really nice. The room and the bqthroom is spacious, beautifully decorated, The food is very good! And the staff is very polite and nice. I would highly recommend this place and definately come back. Not walkable distance to the city- which we knew, we had a car, and also used uber/pickme when we needed.

Some of the stray dogs from the nearby areas were barking in the middle of the night on our first day, but not the second day- i guess that is not something the hotel can control. But it didnt ruin our stay!

Oliphant is located in the highest tea plantation in Sri Lanka. The hotel is an old colonial building used by the tea plantation and beautifully converted and preserved. We had a large bedroom and bathroom, beautifully furnished with a four poster and all comforts. It really felt like home from home. The location is spectacular. We had a couple of walks up the hillside through the tea plantations, and there are great views. It gets chilly at night, as it's so high, so take a layer (there are also heaters in the bedroom). In the daytime the sky was a brilliant blue. The staff were delightful and very attentive. The food (dinner and breakfast) was very high quality. They have a wonderful chef, who makes everything from scratch, including breakfast jams. I totally recommend their Sri Lankan curry for dinner. It was the best we had in Sri Lanka, delicate and full of flavour. Just be aware that it's freshly cooked so you need to give an hour's notice when ordering. We only stayed one night on our way to Yala, we would definitely stay for longer next time. Memorable and authentic, thank you to the staff!

Wonderful big and cozy rooms. Perfect light concept and high class furniture. Operating since 2017, so all still looks very fresh and inviting in English country style design with modern touch. In short it was perfect. Lakshman and his team were so friendly and give high class service. Exceeded all expectations. 12 points out of 10. Dinner and breakfast were top. Opening the windows for fresh air in the morning - super, after the heat in the cultural triangle. For once you appreciate the heater instead of aircon. Tea plantations walk behind the house is unforgettable. Oliphant is a place you don’t want to leave. Two nights stay recommended. Very quiet location in a gardenstyle setting. 7 rooms.

Amazing attentive staff, clean rooms and nice location a little bit outside of the city which I prefer as it looked way nicer than any other hotel in town center. They did their best to meet our dietary requirements and requests, Sri Lankan dinner was especially delicious.

- no mini fridge, this is a must and it’s weird not to have one in the room - Wifi wasn’t working properly - a bit weird placement of Tv in the middle of the window that blocks the view But these are minor easily fixable things.

It's a beautiful place. Quite and away from the hussle and bustle of the Nuwara Eliya town. The staff are excellent.. The best crew I have met in a place like this.. lead by Buddhika, all of them were so accommodative and exceptionally nice. That makes all the difference. The food was exceptional. We really enjoyed our stay.

The fact that the TV is placed so badly covering the windows and the view. I think the room arrangements have to be rethought. And it's a pity that the fire places in the rooms and the lobby are not being lit.. would make such a difference to the ambience of one's stay.

This hotel is very quaint with an English colonial feeling, set in gorgeous gardens. We had a beautiful, massive room with a huge marble bathroom and views out of all the windows. They have kept the bungalow very traditional and it felt very unique. Lakshman and his team were brilliant, making sure we were happy and had everything we needed. Even making us a breakfast box to take with us on our long early morning journey to the airport! We had breakfast outside on the lawn one day in the sunshine, and on our last night they made us a huge Sri Lankan feast - all the food was outstanding! The hotel is about 15 mins outside of the centre of Nuwara Eliyah but we enjoyed the quiet and views this meant. If you climb up the mountain behind it you can get fantastic views! We also went to the Damro tea plantation, Gregory Lake and Victoria Park while we were staying. There isn’t any drivers accommodation but our driver found somewhere about 500m down the road.

The colonial look (160yrs old villa) and feel, limited rooms (only 7) , royal treatment, amidst the highest altitude tea plantation in Srilanka. The calmness around the place is surreal as its around 15min from the city centre and at higher height. The rooms and bathrooms are very spacious. Thanks to Arosha,Chaninda, Sanjiwa, Madushana and chef Roshan for the great hospitality and making our 3 days stay here one of the best highlights of our Srilanka trip

We were warmly welcomed and felt perfectly cared for! Walking around in the garden, the small village down the street or through the teeplantation was easy. Our daytrip to Horton Plains worked perfect and we got helpful answers by the hotelstaff. Food was great and the cook changed plan to offer a Sri Lankan Curry for dinner. His desserts are to die for. Everyone is very obliging.

In our room we felt very comfortable, only a small table would have been nice to have a place for the tea cup.

It’s a beautiful place with kind staff. We only had breakfast en lunch here, but both were really good.

It’s a little bit far from the center and it’s really quite. You can’t have a beer in the evening because they don’t have a license. Also beware of the taxes that are not included in their price. We had to pay an extra 50 euro’s which at other hotels are included.
