We stayed for four nights and would definitely recommend Silver Orchid resort. We booked two rooms with a balcony for our family and loved staying here. The view from the rooms was amazing overlooking the pool and cliffs. A great place to sit and have a cold drink after a day out. The pool was fantastic. Very comfy and clean. Staff were wonderful, helpful and sorted out our washing. We felt it was good value for money. It is a 15 minute walk down to the beach which is a little walk back after a day out to the islands but meant the hotel was a quiet oasis away from the main drag through Ao Nang. Most excursions will pick you up from the hotel anyway. We didn’t eat at the hotel or book any trips with them so can’t comment on this.

One of the room showers had slightly low pressure but otherwise we couldn’t fault the resort for the price.

The staff is extremely friendly. The pool is also awesome with the mountain view. Everything was always very clean. The location was also good, quiet and safe. Only for elderly people or people who struggle walking but don't want to be dependant of transportation, I would not recommend it; better to stay closer to the main road and the beach then. They do have a free shuttle to the beach at 12.30 and 14.00. We didn't try the hotel restaurant as there were so many external restaurants nearby, such as Koyoko at just a 2 min walk, which was so incredibly good and even cheap.

I found the hotel a little bit on the expensive side based on the location, but that's just my personal opinion. Otherwise no negative comments at all. Credits once again to the amazing staff!

The hotel is in general nice, it is a 15 minutes walk to the beach along a street packed with restaurants. The breakfast is good with a good variety of options to choose from. The room was well-lit with a desk which is important for us since I worked in the evenings. The Internet connection was more or less stable. The bed was comfortable. Our room was cleaned on a daily basis.

At first we were given another room, a smaller one in spite of the fact that we paid for a superior double room. Then they agreed to change it and moved us immediately to superior room saying that it was especially for us like a bonus which was not true because we got exactly what we'd paid for. And that was what we could see in our booking information, both photos and the description.

The hotel was overall comfortable, clean and satisfactory. The initial room I was given was overlooking the empty parking lot across the road; a view that I rather not have. When I mentioned this and asked if they had alternatives, I was able to move to another room with a better view. The attitude and competence of the personnel makes a big difference, I think. In my case, the person working the reception (I believe her name is Chawinnut - sorry if I misspelled it) made a big difference in improving experience. Not only was she initially helpful in finding an alternate room (which made staying at the hotel so much more enjoyable), she also arranged to replace the kettle in the room (which was very old and kind of rusty). Finally, the day when I was stung by jellyfish, when I came to the hotel and asked for white vinegar (to help with the sting), she immediately procured it, even though the kitchen was closed. And she did all these with a kind smile and enthusiasm. Her helpful and competent attitude was remarkable and I think should be an example for others. The hotel has a right to be proud of having an exemplary staff like her. In terms of amenities, the pool is nice (if not very deep), with an incredible view of the rockface behind the hotel. You are also provided with towels to use.

Not much really. The hotel is a bit of a walking distance from the main strip and the beach; there is a shuttle but it only runs twice a day. I think that can definitely be improved. Not really the hotel's fault but rather a cultural issue; of the 4 days that I stayed in the hotel, the same bunch of Australians were always in the pool, drinking beer without pause and having jolly but quite loud conversations. If I had a pool-view room, I may have began feeling a bit annoyed by this. So, beware; the more expensive pool-view rooms may not be necessarily better.

Good value hotel, staff were professional and attentive. On site food is a bit lacking but the hotel is close enough ( 10 min walk ) to the main street with lots of options. Pool is nicely kept but for the number of rooms and its size often felt busy especially when a school trip stayed in the hotel. Overall I would definitely stay again and for the price it's an exactly option if you need to book and pay for multiple rooms as we did. Rooms are also very generous in size and the beds were comfortable.

Hotel had a local private function one of the 5 nights were there and the karaoke noise was inconsiderate. Hot water was intermitent though not really needed. Shuttle bus times are impractical and your made to feel they are doing you a favour. Should run hourly given location.

The check in was 2 pm although i requested a early check in since i checked out at 9 am the next day 2 pm is way too late since most flights arrive in the morning and as a guest i would like to freshen up and get on with my day

Value for money in a quiet location, yet just off the main roar of ao nang. The staff were lovely,always with a smile to greet you and helpful with everything i needed. Also nice views around from the pool

- Breakfast is good. esp good for it's value - They clean every day(at least change towels and take off garbage and fold the bed, which is unusual in Thailand for me) - I'd like to mention that the price in a local restaurant is the same as in general(they don't overcharge as many hotels do), the same goes for transport services - The room is big, the staff is friendly - They bring water everyday(which is wonderfull for me)

- THE INTERNET. (Please if you are reading this: change this freaking login system, it's terrible) Few times a day you have to re-login to wifi.(pass and login) and the speed is not that good. I was angry about it every day. - Location is not what I expected, not a terrible problem, but it could be for some people. - My window is facing the pool(and 2 floor), not much privacy next is not 100% related to the hotel: - I liked the prices and ingredients in the restaurant, but please work on receipts. (Onion is more of a spice than a vegetable. Don't put THAT much of it in burgers and sandwiches, and google some sauces please). If you do this- this would be one of the best places to eat in Ao Nang.

This hotel is located just a bit further than the main street with shops and restaurants, but that is precisely what we liked so much about it. The Aonang Silver Orchid Resort has a unique location away from the noise and with a gorgeous swimming pool area looking out onto the cliffs. That made it very special, and we even got an upgrade to a room with pool view (and the cliffs)! Lovely nature and only a short 8-minute walk to the shops, cafés and restaurants. The location and the pool is what we loved most about this hotel. The hotel staff was always very nice and helpful too.

Unfortunately, we did not like the breakfast at this hotel, way below average quality than most other places we stayed at in Thailand. There was a lack of choice overall and even the fresh fruit and fried eggs did not look very appealing compared to elsewhere. We opted to go out for breakfast for the rest of our stay. Also, even though the rooms were clean, they do need to be modernised. The furniture and the bathrooms have seen better days! The water pressure and temperature in the shower were not always constant.
