We stayed at Lebua State twice in 2 x weeks and could not have been happier with the size of the rooms, we were lucky to be upgraded on both occasions by the very friendly staff due to visiting in late October, The bar area's and restaurants on the roof of the hotel are absolutely amazing - The Hotel is conveniently located about 35 mins taxi to the airport which you pay around 600 bhat for a large taxi with 4 x large cases - the hotel can also arrange larger private taxis which are more comfortable for around 700-800 bhats to the Airport (BKK), You can access the river ferries (only 16 Bhat per passenger - on the road after the riverside mall behind the hotel about 8 mins walk ) or river cruisers for tourists which are about 200 bhat which includes English speaking guides ) both take you to the various temple sites along the river - there is also a free ferry across to the Iconsiam shopping centre and mall which has an amazing array of Premium branded shops and restaurants but also good value restaurants / street food section on the ground floor

Location and the views.

I think the dress standard for the lounge is outdated and ridiculous. The fact a lady can wear shorts and a man can’t is crazy, especially when it is so hot and humid. For this reason, I only went once in six days. Also, the price of drinks at the rooftop bar is crazy. Granted, it’s an iconic venue, but when one cocktail and three G&T’s cost $400, it’s madness. I also think the rooms are a bit dated - they haven’t changed since I was last there 10 years ago.

Lebua is my favorite hotel. It is so perfect (except the breakfast). A free upgrade to a 2 bedroom suite. A professional service. I had a problem with my key: they apologized and brought me delicious macarons! We dined also in the Mezzaluna (2 Michelinstars) and have a cocktail in the famous Skybar. Lebua is so fantastic!

But the breakfast changed since the Covid into a very poor event that you better avoid. First I had a very unpolite woman who refused my wife to go to the breakfast as she was wearing slippers from the hotel. Extremely customer-unfriendly because at the swimmingpool (where you have your breakfast) the guests wear also slippers of the hotel and those cover more your feet than normal slippers (what I was wearing and what was allowed). The unfriendly waiter was more busy with her stupid rules than with the customer and she forgot my coffee. Also the breakfast is very poor and not for "farangs": no salmon, no cheese, no cold cuts (salami, ham, spread,...), no honey, no choco..... nothing!

The location and views from the upper floors. Our transfer from the airport to the PCR test centre and to the hotel was very well organised. Results came very quickly which was a bonus. We had a couple minor issues which were dealt with very promptly and efficiently by Assistant Front Desk Manager Marco who is an absolute asset to the establishment. Huge thanks to him!

The usual fabulously superb buffet breakfast (which is partly why I booked Lebua) was greatly reduced ; hopefully this is just a Covid inconvenience and it will be back in the future :D The prices of the additional services and of the food/beverages have dramatically increased : we paid over €40 for a set of laundry (2 items of underwear, 1 pair of socks, 1 pair of light trousers and a top) and over €80 for two cocktails. Whilst I appreciate this is a premium establishment, having stayed there several times before the prices have really gone too high. Also some aspects of the facilities are starting to show their age and some repairs here and there wouldn’t go amiss…

Large, well maintained pool (about 40 metres in longest length) which is elevated above the Bangkok pollution. Very spacious family suite. A lot of variety at breakfast (but a bit short on quality) and friendly, helpful staff.

We stayed here as a couple 15 years ago and it doesn’t seem to have been refurbished much in the interim. The hotel seems to rent out a few floors from the tower which is dilapidated in other non-hotel areas - in the communal tower lobby the ceiling has collapsed in several areas. An oleaginous man in an elaborately embroidered white suit wafts between these areas and the hotel lobby with a series of young girls and >50 solo male tourists. A bit seedy.

Great hotel with amazing views. Well worth the stay. The rooms are huge, clean and comfortable. Staff throughout the hotel were courteous and attentive, always made us feel welcome.

We don't normally stay in this area when in Bangkok, we found the area around the hotel lacking but plan your day and you'll have a great time. Lots of great food in the streets below.

Breakfast was included and was fine, but I have had better. We had a club room and went for tea and a drink each evening. The food was very bread-oriented it could have been a bit varied, but the staff were so lovely and friendly. We went one night to the roof top and had a very expensive but VERY nice glass of champagne and juice for my daughter, and it was lovely and worth the treat! The pool was closed for a day and they could not say when it would open and offered to send people via taxi to the Holiday Inn pool which was unappealing we considered moving but we stayed and it was fixed in a day so we were glad we stayed.

Something odd is happening in the front with the doorman and the lady selling used clothes to the side of the street in front of the Lebua. he seems to bring people over. Even my 13-year-old said something dodgy is going on there, and she said she was selling something to them. i.e. people who go behind her clothing rack. It's not weed as that's legal and shops are everywhere. It's just a little odd we thought. Dont let that deter you it's a lovely place.

Had a room on 52 floor with river view which was absolutely stunning Breakfast is an experience in itself, you will be able to skip lunch 😃

Internet was not up to standard for this kind of hotel Check in could be little faster as well

I have been to Bangkok 20+ times and this is the best-value (premium tier) 5 star property in Bangkok by a country mile. Have stayed many times here, Shangri La, Peninsula and Four Seasons as well as Grand Sheraton Sukhumvit, Waldorf, W, and countless others. On a $ for $ basis, Lebua leaves every other premium tier 5 star prop in dust for its overall value, room size, service, facilities, the best breakfast-spread in Bangkok, on-site premium restaurants and bars, lobby etc. No one else comes close.

Nothing to dislike here. Room furnishings might need an upgrade soon but even then the room, bathroom and the bed are the best you can find in any other premium property.
