I enjoyed the Horizon Club room which was included with my suite. It made breakfast and dinner a quiet experience. The staff were always friendly and helpful

I found the ‘dinners’ (they called it Happy Hour) okay but the food wasn't exactly delicious. Some evenings, I found it hard to find a dish I really liked. It suited me as I was dining alone and not really hungry. I was glad to not be a vegetarian as those dishes were very uninspiring and unimaginative. The pool and surrounding area were very small with a very limited amount sun beds.

Shangri-La is really kids friendly, the welcome candy, toothbrush and the cartoon bedsheet, the playground, so my son is super happy and don't want to leave. It is really a pleasant stay here. The breakfast is excellent too but food is the same everyday(Another hotel I stay in Chiang Mai does not have change of breakfast too). Even the decor is old in my first sight comparing with other 5 star hotels but it doesn't matter as the house is clean and the bed is comfortable.

Shampoo and conditioner quality does not meet my expectation. They do not provide disposable shaver for my husband too.

Everything was immaculate. Bedroom was clean, beds were comfortable. There was a big pool with a slide and jacuzzi area as well as a lifeguard! The lounge areas were nicely decorated and staff were attentive. I had a slight sore throat when I arrived and requested ginger and honey with warm water which I received without hesitation. The next day we didn't get our hotel room cleaned and the staff called to make sure everything was okay which was a nice gesture. I would highly recommend this hotel in Chiang Mai as its very close to markets too and looks so pretty from the outside.

Absolutely stunning property, within walking distance of shops and night markets. The food is delicious, and the decorations are next level for the holidays. Staff were very friendly and were able to accommodate all our requests. Special thanks to Diana and all the staff involved upon check in to make sure our requests were met for the birthday and anniversary celebration. Also, recommend having the breakfast here before setting off on your adventures.

I wish I had more days to be able to explore every inch of the property and all the things it had to offer.

They made the new year party mandatory and it is not worth the money … I had to pay additional 27000 baht because it was mandatory… and this information came only after I booked and paid for my room … otherwise I wouldn’t have continued with my booking .. and to top it the party was very boring 😒😒 me and my family didn’t enjoy at all …

staff at the property provided good service all round . Seemed to have a slight issue with booking.com , had booked a room with a balcony but not according to the reservation..? this was sorted out by the reception staff to our satisfaction without any issues on arrival. all the facilities that we used were all very good including the restaurant bar well equipped gym and the swimming pool

noisy maintenance being carried out but the pool but it’s got to be done at some point … the jacuzzi buy the pool not working properly… hopefully the maintenance will get to that soon

The spacious room with daily housekeeping. The breakfast was amazing, have plenty of selection. Staff are friendly and they decorated my parent room for their anniversary without me requesting it which was very impressive with all the details they got given. My parent were very happy. Thank you!

They were customer drunken yelling or fighting (not sure) between midnight and 2am almost every night we were there on the corridor (near our rooms). They woke us up every night. I had to call the receptions asking if they can come and manage it every night. I believe they were a massive group of customer stayed at the same time. Maybe next time, hotel can arrange rooms for big group of guest to stay various floors and not all together. It’s not pleasant to wake up during the night because of other rude guests.

I love the Spa. It was excellent. Both the therapist and the ambiance and room. Really soothing. The hotel room is well laid out and very comfortable. I booked the Premier room and it was really spacious and can accommodate 3 of us very well. We stayed for 4 happy nights. It is also about 10 minutes walk to the night market. But the Sunday night market should not be missed. Because it is the biggest and has the widest range of interesting stuff to interest everyone. The service provided by Shangri-La's Concierge is also great. I found Chana and Nu very responsible and helpful especially Chana who helped us plan for the trips I wanted and restaurants I would like to visit. We not only love food but also the artistic ambiance created by artistic Thais in their eateries. We were not disappointed. Although Chiangmai is far from the big city like Bangkok, the shopping scene at both the big malls cum night markets and the food scene are not all boring. Many restaurants are tastefully done up and their menu creative and flavorful. As for the food, do not miss Ginger farm. Their food is memorable. Seafood lovers should not miss Thajene Chomchan Seafood. Both cheap and good. The most interesting place that we visited is the 3 D Art museum-Art in Paradise! Though we are all adults, as long as you love art and colour and creativity, you would love this place. Do come in the minute they open their doors, so that you can have the whole place to yourself to take all the wonderful shots you want. Wonderful memories. The art is so beautifully created. So painstakingly put together. It is worth every Baht you pay to get in. By and large, you will find the prices at Chiangmail lower than Bangkok. At first I was worried that Chiangmai might be boring but Chiangmail proved to be a great place to holiday in for a short break. If you like shopping and Food. The great outdoors like Pheonix Ziplining is also very fun. They have a huge place and choo choo train on their ground!

The gym. Although it is very well equipped. The entrance to the gym was very strange. You got to walk though long meandering paths.

Rooms are very nice. Horizon Club Lounge has got a good variety of food. Nice staff everywhere in the hotel.

Dress code in the Horizon Club Lounge is not kept up. Many people come dressed in the same way as walking the streets. There is no “Evening Flair” in the Lounge, just somewhere people go to get some food, which is quite sad. No Club Lounge atmosphere.

Big clean rooms, good location 10 minutes walk to the regular night market and 150 baht to the old town in a tuk tuk which are available outside the hotel. Breakfast had a big selection and the croissants were probably the best I have eaten anywhere.

The hotel is a little old but is still tidy. The pool needs refurbishment though, it is tired and stained and needs a bit of love and care. Most annoyingly the gym wasn't open until 8am ruling out working out before breakfast, really strange and no reason not to open it earlier.
