from the moment we arrived we were greeted by Jorr who was a fantastic customer service representative of the hotel explaining everything available and things to do in the area. shout also goes to Ying who helped us organise some transport. They also hire out scooters. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, they were just happy to help and always smiling. The location was great, right on the beach and also a lovely pool area with a bar. Everyone seemed to stop and take photos of the beach outside the hotel as it was the nicest bit with lovely palm trees leaning towards the sea. We had a room overlooking the beach and pool area and it was clean, spacious and comfortable with good WiFi and a decent shower and separate jacuzzi bath. There is a great food market every night only a 10 min walk from the hotel. The hotel area was very quiet but if you wanted the buzz of the bars and restaurants it was only a short walk away. Breakfast at the hotel was ok. Overall very good value for a 3 star hotel.

The location was absolutely perfect, from all of the beach, the part which belonged to the hotel was clean and well maintained. The hotel staff was nice and they always wanted to be forthcoming. Breakfast wasn't bad but not in the case you're staying longer because the range of dishes was not so broad and it didn't change much day by day - missing chocolate foods and cheese. The hotel room was fairly good and cleaned - no insects, only sometimes some small lizard.

Don't forget to take the spray against mosquitos.

unpretentious hotel with great pool. staff are exceptional- friendly, welcoming and go the extra mile. great location- very quiet but only a five minute walk to the bars and restaurants- highly recommend

unfortunately the sea is not great at the hotel as it is between 2 rivers. however a 5 minute walk along the beach and the sea is crystal clear- and the hotel pool is fab

We stayed for 8 nights. The staff are all lovely, efficient, friendly, and helpful. The pool was clean and warm. Our room, next to the pool and with a sea view, was a good size and always kept really clean and tidy. The bed was large and comfortable. AirCon was efficient. Breakfast was good, with fresh fruit and juices, plus eggs cooked to order, eaten on the terrace restaurant with sea views. The hotel is small but not crowded, always enough sun beds or bean bags. In a great position for the beach, with a short walk to beach bars, or a short walk to Lamai Town for a good choice of restaurants and shops. We enjoyed the hotel cocktail party and bbq beach dining. The hotel staff keep their area of beach as clean as they can. The hotel has a nice relaxed family atmosphere and is quiet after 10 pm. We met many guests who come back to this hotel year after year, and we can see why.

Litter on the beach, which is typical of Thailand, unfortunately, especially when the weather is windy (but this is no fault of the hotel who tidy their area of the beach as much as possible).

Location was fantastic!! Good amount of shade around pool and beach area. Nice breakfast buffet, lovely croissants and pastries. Super cute cabins -we got a deluxe one, it was very large and nicely decorated. Huge bathroom! beautiful grounds. Staff lovely 😍 . Changed pool towels twice a day ✔️

Felt some areas needed an upgrade. Painted areas around resort, were chipping including sun lounges, pool bar and cabins. Bathroom in cabin is just huge but very old tiles and colours. Sign on the beach is rusty and got more damaged in storm. Did NOT like guests smoking by the pool. 🤮🤢

I loved the little bungalow I had with a verandah on the front. The pool was also lovely, right on the ocean front so you could swim in either the pool or ocean without having to walk far from your chair at the poolside. The beach was also nice and clean and the ocean nice and flat with no big waves which is what I like. The location was fine for me, the night markets close by and plenty of restaurants you can walk to. It is best to walk up the beach a little and go over the little bridge nearby to walk to everything. Don't walk up the resort main driveway because that is the long way around to everything. Also, Ying who worked on front reception was marvellous, always so helpful. I would love to return one day.

As my bungalow was near the pool and main area there was a lot of light shining in my room all night so I had to wear my eye mask.

The property is beautiful and the staff were excellent. The gardens are lovely, the pool is clean, and the restaurant is right on the beach which makes for lovely views. Our room was very nice, it was clean and comfortable. The wifi throughout the property is also really good. The breakfast had plenty of options, that changed daily. They also accommodated my partners nut allergy. The location is good, short 5-10 mins walk to the night market and the main strip. I also appreciated that the staff cleaned the beach daily (usually 2-3 times a day) to keep seaweed and rubbish at bay. The massages on site are good, I particularly recommend the aloe Vera one, and it’s very relaxing to listen to the waves.

If I’m being picky I would have liked an extra beach towel, we were only allowed 1 each. But that’s something very small and wasn’t a big deal.

Just returned from a one month stay at this resort and we were certainly not disappointed, so much so we are already planning our return. We had originally booked a standard room with garden view but asked if there were upgrades available upon our arrival. Ying was very helpful and kindly showed us around 3 different rooms. We chose the superior garden villa and had a beautiful view out to the sea. The room was spacious and had a bathroom with a wet room at the end, again this was spacious. The rooms were cleaned every day (thank you Noi), fresh towels and beach towels were also provided daily. We had breakfast included and there was a good selection of hot food, toast, pastries, cereal, fresh fruit, tea, coffee and fruit juice. The beach in front of the property was cleaned every day and there was no issues getting a sun bed or if you preferred, a very large bean bag to chill out on in the sun. There is also a large swimming pool however we didn’t use it as we much preferred being in the warm sea which was great for snorkelling or cooling down. We did eat there on a few occasions and we found that the food was wonderful. Drinks were a little more expensive than in Lamai town (which is to be expected) but the cocktails were great. You could also have your meal on the beach in the evening which was absolutely lovely. We were in easy reach of Lamai town. There was a little short cut if you walked along the beach and over the bridge (literally a 5 minute walk) where you can access lots of shops, bars and restaurants. It’s definitely worth going to both street markets where you could buy lots of different food and drinks that were very reasonably priced. However, the real gem of staying at this hotel was the amazing staff who could not do enough for us during our stay. They were always smiling and happy to help with any questions that we had. Fantastic people, excellent location, we’ll be back! Many thanks to all for an amazing holiday 😀

Just returned from a 3 week stay at Sand Sea & we will definitely be back. We stopped in a Garden Villa which was spacious & cleaned every day, the room was excellent value more or less on the beach right next to the pool. Hotel facilities excellent, nice bar & restaurant but we were out most nights & didn’t use it much. The food we did have was very good & reasonably priced for a hotel. All the staff are really friendly & cannot do enough for you. Location couldn’t be better, beach cleaned every day & far enough from the Jet Skis for them not to be a nuisance. No issues at all with sun beds. The main strip is a 5 min walk either down the beach or the road and there are plenty of bars & restaurants everywhere. Big supermarket 10 minute walk away if you need anything.

Nothing at all, everything perfect.

The resort was so well placed on the beach. We had a pool villa and it was great to walk from the room to the pool and then down the steps to the sea. Very comfortable bed and a clean and tidy room.

Everything was great except the room needing a little bit more TLC. Some paint was peeling and one door was difficult to shut but it didn't stop us having a fantastic time. A huge storm the first night we stayed didn't help with this but staff were very proactive in cleaning and tidying the resort and beach.
