This place had a picturesque, natural ambiance. It was quiet, relaxing, and very comfortable which was what my girlfriend and I were looking for. In the back were rice fields and in the distance there was a Temple on the mountain across from the rice fields. The setting was so beautiful! Staff was very nice and helpful. Good that we ate was delicious. The spa was also awesome. The balcony offered an awesome view into the natural beauty of the rice fields and mountains. FYI, on the back of the property, they are opening up a place for massages in September. It’s a beautiful structure with an open setting, streams and flowers. It’s pretty cool.

rooms are clean and of good size. food is also very delicious. big outdoor space for kids to explore. near the bamboo bridge. stars of the hotel are the staff! the staff are thoughtful and great hosts. 1 great example -- we ordered 4 of the same breakfast and they had thoughtfully separated the garnish for the kids, and made it with less seasoning (without us asking) -- no hotel we have stayed in has shown such high level of thoughtfulness and attentiveness. we will definitely come back.

the shower in the bathroom could be improved -- just needs a simple change of the shower head. honestly this place would be a 10/10 if not for the shower.

The location is magical. Overlooking the fields and a temple that is connected through a bamboo path/bridge that goed through the fields. The staff is very helpful and will do anything to accommodate you. We also loved the decor. Very tranquil Zen/Scandinavian style rooms. The bed was very comfortable as well. The lobby is more in an English cottage style where it’s lovely to relax and read a book with the lovely view. We also recommend to drive to the nearby mud spa (choose program nr 5!) avoid the VIP-treatment though. We highly recommend this place!

Pretty much everything, but to give some highlights: The building is well constructed with recycled teak wood everywhere and tastefully decorated. The room with spa bath, which was well worth the price, had spectacular views towards the mountains and adjacent rice fields. The bath itself, located on the balcony with either total privacy or sweeping views, is very large and comfortable for up to two people, bubble bath was provided, and the hot water comes from an underground hot spring. The bed is perhaps the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in, and it’s so quiet that the only things that can be heard are a slight whisper from the air conditioner and the crickets singing outside. The Internet connection was flawless. Great coffee at breakfast The owner is amazing… impeccable attention to guests’ needs, extremely knowledgeable about everything in Mae Hong Son and providing tonnes of helpful information.

An extremely interesting option to explore the Mae Hong Son area. This house in traditional materials, has many attractions to provide an exceptional experience in this region of northern Thailand. Superb environment, beautiful architecture and decoration, great comfort -we recommend the rooms with jacuzzi and views over the rice fields- good welcome, very good breakfasts... One of the best places we have stayed in our recent trip of two months across the country. To highlight the beautiful detail of treating us with a delicious cake and a very good wine on the occasion of our wedding anniversary. Many thanks for everything!

In general the whole experience was very positive. The only point to improve was the service during breakfast, for which there was a perceived lack of the necessary staff.

Very comfortable and clean rooms with amazing view. The owner was very nice and supportive. In fact she specially prepared vegetarian food for us on our request. We look forward to visit the place sometime again.

If the staff could speak a bit of English would be more helpful for tourist travelers.

Sang Poy Cottage is everything that is evocative of Thailand and more! A place that has been built and decorated with a great deal of soul. The cottage has been built from recycled Teak in traditional Thai style. I loved the attention to detail, and there were many… the handmade floor tiles… my room was well appointed nothing that I would want more of or would change. Sang Poy sits looking out on to a glorious views of the rice paddies. Parking is available if you are driving. A wonderful, kind and helpful owner who speaks excellent English. A fabulous restaurant on site with the best breakfasts I have had all over Thailand! excellent beautiful staff… thank you! Sang Poy is a very special place, a memorable place… a beautiful place!

A great deal of thought, design and love has gone into Sang Poy Cottage… everything about it… was superb!

Sang Poy Cottage is one those uniquely charmingly beautiful places in the world that you remember. A tranquil special place built from recycled teak in traditional local architecture. The Cottage sits comfortably overlooking at the time I was there, the lush vivid green of the rice paddies. A great deal of attention to detail, care and thought has gone into the modern amenities, there is everything you would wish for. A very comfortable huge bed, great shower, well appointed room, lovely verandah to sit and enjoy the views. Breakfast and dinner are served on a huge verandah overlooking picture post card views across the fields and the mountains beyond. Wonderful breakfast, both western and Thai. Restaurant for other meals if required. Parking. The owner speaks English both she and her staff were absolutely fantastic, helpful and wonderful...

Beautiful property, photos do not do justice. Luxurious rooms with all amenities. They also accommodated our request for vegetarian breakfast which was deliciously prepared. It’s away from the hustle bustle overall we were very happy with our stay here. Loved the architecture of the hotel and the materials used.

For light sleepers like me the noise of a vehicle passing through the road can be heard as we had kept the AC switched off with only the mesh door closed (though it’s rare as the traffic on the route is very less)
