Gail is a wonderful host and very helpful with any issues we had at the property and informing us re locations of restaurants/ things to do in the area. Once we changed rooms, the room and balcony overlooking the pool and surrounding area was wonderful. Very clean and bed linen and towels changed on alternate days. Short walk to the beach. Short distance and low cost to be taken to the airport.

Initially the actual location of the property was disappointing, as it felt quite remote from local amenities. But we like to walk and found that there was a lot more on offer than we initially thought there was. Tuk tuks and taxis readily available if you prefer. The sea currents and undertow are very strong, which would could make it dangerous for children and non confident swimmers.

Excellent location, very close to the beach & walking distance to shops like Seven 11, a small supermarket & restaurants. It is set amongst where the locals live which gave us a lovely insight of how the hard working locals live & go about carrying out their lives & businesses . The best thing about MaiKhao Beach Residence was the Manager, Gail. Gail was extremely helpfully & resourceful & nothing was too hard. We truly appreciate all the help and guidance from her. Highly recommend Maikhao Beach Recidence for anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing holiday.

Cannot rate this place highly enough! Gail on reception was the sweetest most helpful human ever. She booked my Koh Samui transfer for me and also sorted my breakfast in the mornings and brought it to my room. The room was really nice, HUGE! So much space, a massive bed and a lovely quaint balcony overlooking the mountains. You can borrow a bike free of charge which I did for the whole stay, it was really helpful for getting around. It’s really close to SOI Dog Foundation if you’re looking to go there, and so close to the beach where you can watch the planes land right over your head.

A lovely, calm place. The room was very spacious and clean. Very comfy bed and excellent wifi. I also liked the tiny balcony which was facing the pool but because of the lush vegetation between the pool and the building there’s ”privacy”. The pool was perfect for my 4-year-old daughter with shallow and deeper sections. I also appreciated the reception staff’s help with everything, e.g. ordering food.

There are not that many shops or services nearby, but food could be ordered, and one can take a tuk tuk or a taxi to go shopping elsewhere.

Calm environment, not far from Maikhao beach, friendly and considerate staff. They allowed us to check in even in early morning. Cozy place with good facilities e.g. swimming pool, gym room. The room itself is quite spacious. Beach mats are also available to borrow.

Someone burnt stuff in the wood nearby property during nighttime while we stayed. As a result of that, some bad smells leaked into the room. It’s not the property’s fault. I wish the local government would take the air quality issues seriously.

I chose Maikhao Beach Residence mainly because it was close to Soi Dog Foundation where I volunteered, but I had a delightful stay. The rooms are simply decorated, but the whole place is very nice and clean. The hotel is located in a quiet neighbourhood. Special thanks to the girl who runs the place. She was the most friendly and helpful host I've met in a very long time! Thanks for the coffee and cookies :)

The walls aren't super thick, so if you have loud neighbours, you'll be able to hear them. But in general the area is very quiet.

Gail was a great host. And she speaks English. She arranged a driver to show me around and another when it was time to go. I booked one night because it was close to the airport, but stayed two more because I liked it. The room and the grounds were immaculate. The gorgeous beach is a 6-minute walk. I go for a swim in the morning and have the whole place to myself. There is a top-notch open-air restaurant there as well.

The pool, beautiful as it is, was too warm to offer relief on a hot day.

Quiet BIG room at the rear of the property. Great bed, linen, fridge & aircon. Beautiful pool area and just a short walk (5 mins) to stunning Maikhao beach. Bicycles available to use for free, in good condition and a few minutes easy ride to Soi Dog Sanctuary (great tour!), convenience store, pharmacy, ATM etc. Great value hotel away from all the crowded tourist hotspots in the southern beaches.

There was an on-site restaurant but it didn’t appear to be open/staffed. Only found out at the end of our stay that it was possible to place food orders to be cooked on demand. There were roadworks happening on the street to the beach. Not the hotel’s fault in any way but it did require careful stepping around bulldozer etc. Take a torch with you if walking back in the dark after sunset.

Everything was great! The location, just few minutes from the beach by walk. The room and everything was very clean. Gali was super, so kind and prompt to solve any needs. She also helped me to find my jacket that I left on the plane. She booked a beautiful massage.. She did everything for make me happy, with her smile and kindness. For sure I recommend this place 😊

This is hands down one of the best places I have stayed The staff were sooo welcoming made the effort to speak to everyone and get to know them Offered to order taxis for everyone when they were leaving Constantly made sure everyone was okay It’s not often you get hotel staff that treat you this way It’s such a lovely hotel In a chilled quite area perfect for relaxing rooms are lovely, spacious and clean You can tell these people genially care about their guests

There isn’t anything I disliked
