Nicely renovated hotel in what I think is one of the nicer areas of Port of Spain, near attractions and local shops. There are a couple of pleasent reasurants on site and the pool area is well presented. Great views for breakfast. The staff were helpful in accomodating me as a arrived before the normal check in time. Particularly good hotel guide in the room, which was more informative and practically useful than many others.

The room was relatively small, alhough fairly modern. The breakfast selection is more limited than at many comparable hotels. It didn't really bother me, but I could hear the main building aircon fans going all night, as they were situated a little below my room.

Super clean environment. Friendly staff. Everyone greeted you with a pleasant and genuine hello. Room had ample supply of towels,washcloths, shampoo, soap… Breakfast was excellent! A variety of food and fruits. I’d say it was all exceptional.

Checking in was slow, it took too long especially if you have children with you. Also they need a kiddie pool. It’s hard to enjoy or relax while trying to make sure kids aren’t getting into the deep end of the pool. Maybe a lil play areas for younger kids.

There was nothing to dislike

We really liked the friendly staff who were understanding and helpful. The room was comfortable and quiet. There is adequate parking available in the hotel parking lot. The breakfast buffet was really good and included local foods as well. The restaurant where we had breakfast was really cosy and beautifully decorated with an amazing view over the city. Lastly, we really liked the pool area. The pool is clean and big enough to do laps. The entire pool area with the waterfall and fishes is just beautiful.

The only thing that we didn't like was that our room wasn't cleaned properly. We found e.g. used ear plugs from the previous guest and dust along the sides of the bed. Other than that we can't complain at all.

I had a flight delay with complications. The staff at the Kapok Hotel provided professional efficient service throughout my unexpected stay. The room had a private balcony overlooking the hills of Port of Spain, with the ocean in the distance. It was spotless. The facility had a beautiful pool, terrace for drinks, and two restaurants onsite. Jamelah in Kava was warm and accommodating. The Receptions staff all were friendly, but Cheyenne and Ken were exceptional. Ken also helped arranged rideshare back to Piarco Airport, helping to offset the unexpected stay costs. The Security staff stored my bag after checkout so I could sightsee the Queens Park Savannah unhindered. Ken recommended coconut water from a vendor and soon Ily was explaining the fine art of scraping the wonderful core from a fresh coconut.

There was a Guest Computer Station advertised, and as I needed to repeat my online COVID test with the delay to fly, that was why I chose the hotel. BUT, in the morning, the hotel loaned me a laptop and in no time, I was ready to fly again.

Breakfast is always an amazing experience at this hotel. You get the general and expected bacon and eggs and it is always cooked to perfection . My high point is the local items they feature daily. So the roast bakes, fried bakes, puffs, baigan choka the amazing pepper sauce. Amazing breakfast with a really nice view. Staff at breakfast are the sweetest humans you can find. Very helpful and they remember you, which is always a nice touch.

The stay was too short.

Breakfast was hearty and definitely tasty and wholesome. my only issue was they wasn't any peanut butter at the breakfast station but I am sure i could have requested it, The room was great, especially since we got a view of the pool. The location is perfect since its close to everything in port of Spain.

Would have been great for the room to also have body lotion, toothbrush and toothpaste. Also some bath robes would have been great to have too.
