I loved just how clean the facilities were and to a crazy clean freak they really were excellent. The staff was exceptionally helpful and always went out of their way to help us and to provide the best help to us and they also spoke great English which made everything easier for us. The staff are the biggest glowing point of this hotel honestly as well as the convenience of the location and how close it is to Taksim and other attractions like Galataport.

Very friendly, welcoming, in a great original area, room has little kitchinette, there is a little covered terrace to sit and read although view not spectacular, not touristy, initially feels a bit rough, staff fall over themselves to help. some great shops nearby for food, art supplies, bakers, pastry shops, fruit and veg and also restaurants within 5 min of main shopping st off taksim. Try shopping at 11 at night they are open. Breakfast is fresh, copius and really nice. Would love slight variation particularly having some fruit or yoghourt but really its nice.The street may put you off but the hotel is an oasis. So firendly

The room was smaller than expected but cosy, the folding seats a little uncomfortable need cushions, the bed is fine could be a little more comfortable with mattress. Cleaning is fine but sometimes a bit patchy. One issue for business travellers is that breakfast is from 9-12. I had meeting starting at 8.30, they found a solution and delivered some rolls etc to my door. This needs a little thought.

We stayed at EG for 8 nights. We had been looking for a hotel with a small kitchen, a good amount of space, good access to the rest of Istanbul and somewhere where we could feel "homely". At the same time, it had to be afdordable. EG met those demands and more. We read all of the reviews, including the negative ones and our biggest concern was the noise/soundproofing. We are happy to say that we did not have any issues with noises at all. We could hear when the room next to us showered, due to the pipes, but it was not a nuiscance. The room was clean, decently large and comfortable. Kitchen worked well and it was a pretty homely, just as we wanted. Since there has been some negative feedback regsrding the staff, we'd just like to add that we never had any issues. To the contrary, they helped us several times and were very kind. When asked about a taxi to Fatih, one dude advised us that the metro might be better because of all the congestion. And since the metro is basically right next to the hotel, it wasnt a problem. They did laundry at a very good price, helped us with getting back to the airport and the owner was really kind too. So even though we did read some negativity, we cannot say that we experienced this in any way, quite the contrary. We'd happily go back to EG. We slept in the Loft, this might change things regarding noise/sound level. The area the hotel is in is pretty great too. Taksim square, Istikla street and everything is nearby, and getting to Fatih is very easy with the metro. Just do NOT buy the 50 lira card from the dudes in the metro station, get your own istanbulkart straight from the machine. A dude did try scamming us 😅

The window in our room had some issues closing/opening properly, and if one had to be super pedantic the flooring was not enitely even and seemed to bend a bit. This was in no way a negative or an issue for us though, just something we did notice. Only negative thing we experienced was that the door to the bathroom opens into the room, so my partner almost smacked me with a door at one point. The room really was nice.

We went as a family of 4, the welcome was very warm, the staff were impeccable, very kind and helpful, especially Selcuk and Alex who helped us quite a few times, the room was very clean, the location was perfect, at the beginning the Street looked a little scary but it's very secure. We had a pleasant 12 days.

the cleaning lady came once every 3 days which was insufficient.

The staff was very helpful and accommodating. They helped us with checking out later and even provided an luxury airport shuttle at a fee.The traditional Turkish breakfast was awesome. The rooms were neat and clean. Location is near to Taksim Square. Great stay!

The location is great but the only problem is that it's near a night club so walking home at night with a family isn't ideal. The main bedroom and bathroom are next to each other and doors swing outward which means the doors are always banging each other especially when someone uses the bathroom.

A good price and quality balance. Cozy room in the attic. Very friendly staff. A bottle of water provided upon arrival. Really easy to get to from Taxim square by foot, unless you have a very heavy luggage.

The room was very minimalistic — nothing to complain about here, but may be a touch of life, like some flowers or decor would make it more cozy.

The staff were very friendly and made it possible for us to check in a little early. They offer an excellent breakfast with a nice Turkish coffee. The room was a good size, had a little kitchenette with suitable cooking equipment and everything was clean. You cannot fault this place, especially for the price.

The breakfast was very good and the staff was very friendly and helpful! They helped me with anything I needed and went above and beyond to help me feel safe and taken care of, which is very important as a solo female traveler.

The taxi driver that they typically used and hired for me didn't show up on time. But it wasn't an issue since the receptionist found me another taxi immediately and made sure I caught my flight in time :)

Like allways it was a real pleasure to come back again. Staff is very friendly and helpfull. Rooms are clean. Breakfast in the garden is wonderful! Looking forward to go there again....
