I have stayed at dozen of hotels in Istanbul. This was on the top of the list of best stays/experiences ever. We really loved the character of the hotel. Staff: was very hospitable and there for every need of mine. The nicest staff I have ever encountered at a hotel. Location: Loved the downtown location and atmosphere. Just about name it and you’re within walking distance. Rooms: Beautifully clean rooms, and has a lot of comfort items to make you feel at home. Check-in/Check-out: Both check-in and check-out were professionally handled and easy. They were extremely accommodating and allowed us to check in early at like 0700am. Breakfast: Breakfast was delicious and offered with a wide variety of food.

The Staff. Even before we arrived Yusef was so helpful with reservations. When we arrived, we got a very nice welcome. During our stay, he was very helpful with maps, suggestions and even loaned us an Istanbul card. His Dad was also very, very nice and has created a beautiful potted garden around and opposite the hotel which really gives it a 'cared for' look. Cleanliness and comfort. The hotel is very clean and very comfortable. The bed is very big and incredibly comfortable and even the very good quality sheets are ironed. It was very hot when we stayed and we aporeciated the air conditioning. Breakfast We enjoyed the breakfast.. I travel with my own coffee and a French press and Yusef sorted my coffee out every morning with a smile. I particularly enjoyed the omelettes and the cherries A home away from home We LOVED staying here.. it was like staying in a really welcoming and comfortable home. This isnt your 'cookie cutter' souless chain hotel... it is not 'flash' or styled but it is a total gem with heart and soul.. Location The location was great.. a short walk/tram ride away from some of Istanbul's major attractions.

The front room was a little noisy

Excellent service. The breakfast was lovely and the staff very welcoming and warm. They cared for all our needs. My mother is very old so could not climb up the stairs to reach our room on the 3rd floor. The owners immediately showed us another room right next to the reception area and as this was a double room, offered to add another bed (we were 3 people). Its is a family run bed and breakfast (run by son Yusuf and father Aydin), and very close to public transport, Grand Bazaar, Aya Sofia and Sultan Ahmet mosque.

Big thank you to Yusuf and the whole family, who made our stay so comfortable. Upon arriving we got a welcome tea drink, which was much appreciated after the long journey. We received a map with a lot of suggestions and Yusuf also helped us with sorting out the airport transfer and moving our luggages to the 4th floor. The breakfast was nice, we were really made feel like home. It takes around 20 minutes walk to the city center, so the location is good if you would like to explore that area. I would 100% recommend staying here when visiting Istanbul.

It is not directly next to the public transport, you need to walk around 10 minutes to reach it. This was not an issue for us, just mentioning it in case it is important for someone with reduced mobility.

The friendliness of the family owners made us feel home away from home The owners are amazing, down to earth, friendly, supportive family. They go out of their way to ensure your comfort. Yusuf, the eldest son who runs the property during the day, has a vast knowledge of Istanbul and can tailor make your trip to your requirements as a traveler Thank you Yusuf and the whole owner family for a precious stay.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Otantic Guest House. It was my first time in Istanbul and I wanted to fully experience the atmosphere of this city, including the interiors. Wallpaper, carpets, wooden stairs - everything was very authentic. I had an amazing view to the old mosque. In the morning I woke up to the sound of seagulls. It was so romantic! At the same time, it is quiet and calm place at night, and in the morning the city is filling with the life. The hotel is located near the historical part. By foot you can quickly reach all the main attractions, the tram stop and the metro. The sea is very close too. The room has everything you need. Hairdryer, teapot, slippers. And also one important thing I had a very comfortable bed. Everything was clean and tidy. Cleaning was done every day. Breakfast deserves special attention. You definitely won't leave hungry. I just loved the sesame seed simit and lamb butter with a delicate nutty flavour! Delicious Turkish tea or coffee, vegetables, different types of cheese, sausage, scrambled eggs, jam etc. The hotel does not have an elevator, but they helped me with my suitcase, so I did not have any discomfort. I was given a very warm welcome. I was offered to drink hot tea after my arrival. The owners of the hotel - son and father, are very hospitable people. They tried to make my stay very comfortable, helped to solve various issues, gave excellent advice on where it is best to change money or have dinner, and even helped to make a route for walking around the city. Thank you all so much! Hope I will gladly return to you again.

Great central location and within walking distance of many main attractions. The room was good, spacious and had everything we needed. The hosts were absolutely lovely and really helpful. Gave us advice about transport, best times to go places etc. The breakfast was plentiful! We are both vegetarian and there were lots of options. We didn't go hungry and the breakfast really set us up for the busy sightseeing days! The value for money for this location is great and I would highly recommend!

The room is fairly basic, but this is exactly what I had expected seeing the pictures, reading reviews and it is excellent value for money. A couple of things to note is that the property has stairs only (in case of any access issues) and if you are a light sleeper and in a room facing the road, you can hear street noises late-ish into the night. We'd brought some earplugs with us, so not a problem after we realised it was a bit noisy.

Otanik is definitely worth staying & value for money. Yusuf & his father Iden run this hotel since 7 years ago. They renovated & kept it well. 6 of us booked 3 twin rooms we stayed for 4 nights. All the rooms are spacious enough for 2pax & comfortable. They do the housekeeping everyday to keep our rooms clean. Hotel is near the attractions like Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia & so on. It's also near many restaurants & convenient shops. I would say both Yusuf & Iden offer excellent services to their guest, trying their best to guide/help us. Appreciated their hospitality!

Breakfast is good but would be better if can have different menu/food say alternate day :)

Great hospitality. It was our first visit to Istanbul and definitely not the last. The hotel was so authentic and small, but cozy and clean. I checked the reviews while choosing this hotel , and never regretted ! Mr. Youssef and his father met us upon arrival early in the morning, with a smile on their faces. Check-in took 5 min and as our room was ready, we went to sleep. It was a cozy, clean room, with everything we needed inside. Breakfast which we were taking daily was varied, fresh and tasty. Mr. Youssef Daily explained to us the places we must visit in Istanbul, gave us his Istanbul card 😇🙏🏻❤️ Beautiful city, good hotel = super holiday! Thank you for everything!

Too small bathroom (everything is like a miniature )😀

What a stay we had at this property. we were allowed super early check in at 7am and even offered breakfast before we enter our room. they have no lift but were kind enough to lift our bags to the top floor. Yusuf is a gem of a person. Always helping and providing solutions. Their laundry service is reasonably priced which we used everyday during our stay. we opted for airport transport both ways and were serviced nicely. Lots of food and shopping options nearby.
