Great little hotel off a very busy trade street, very helpful staff, free tea, coffee and water downstairs, quiet.

PRAG was one of the options given by the search for "hotels with a pool" on booking.com, and there were also photos of a pool and steam room. In fact, the hotel DOES NOT HAVE A POOL OR SAUNA. The pool is at the Baron hotel which is a few minutes walk, and it is not free (15 euros per person). My children were very disappointed

This is definitely one of the best hotels in price/quality. The price on booking was quite honest (while many other hotels play like you have a "huge discount" when conditions and rating are much worse). It's not a touristic season (February) but many hotels were overbooked. Very friendly staff is always ready to help if needed. Restaurant-like breakfast every morning (you can ask for special menu if needed), the rooms are cleaned everyday. Everything is clean and looks neat. Just like in the pictures. Spacious rooms. The receptionist we met on the first day has very good music taste. 🤘

I grabbed some instant noodles on the way to the hotel but there was no electric kettle in the room 😀. But you can use it in a cafeteria room on the first floor. I personally used filters to find a hotel with a gym (and a swimming pool) but it's not in the hotel and costs about 15 eur/one time which is expensive. Eventually I found another one in the city. Also the laundry service price is too high imo, so I also found a laundry room on google maps which was much more affordable. The area itself is like a huge wholesale market and takes ~12 minutes to get to the bus/train stop cause there's no public transport in these small streets. But it's often like that in Istanbul.

the hotel is quite new and well build, with a side room where 24/7 you can have tea or coffee or(like it happened to us) chill after you have checked out,waiting for your airport ride. The staff is great, always trying to help, the rooms are clean, and the breakfast is quite good with enough to choose from. important to mention is the private car park(4-5 cars), a rarity for that area.

the location isn’t brill as it is “at the bottom of the steep hill” you need to reach in order to take transportation. (15-20 min walk). the area itself is a little bit crazy with a lot of local movement as the pics uploaded will show.

Great hotel with great breakfast. Parking and service is a plus. All very helpful and polite. Once we were taken up the hill to the tram stop by electric car 😉. WIFI worked fine. The best breakfast we have ever been to during a stay in Turkey for almost three weeks. Turkish specialties, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, pancakes. Cheeses, vegetables… and even desserts and cakes. Coffee from the coffee-machine. Everything was delicious. When something was missing - everything was replenished. Getting there, as we read in the previous comments, required a lot of exercise, but it worked. We had a printed booking confirmation in Turkish. At the first possible exit to the center towards the hotel, we were unable to pass. Porters stood there and tried to convince us to park in the area and help with luggage. Of course, there was no transit. In the second possible exit, it was only an automatic blockade and also no passage. In the next there was a policeman. We showed the reservation, he took a picture of the license plate and opened the gate for us. The access was through very narrow streets with a steep slope. Departure in the morning after a few days without any problems.

A bit of a downside was the family suite. A large, two-room apartment was located on the ground floor. Right next to the reception. Unfortunately, there were noises coming from the corridor to the room. Large windows overlooked the street on one side and to the restaurant on the other side. If the restaurant was open, I cannot imagine living in this apartment. Unfortunately, the windows were large and the curtains did not give the comfort of intimacy. The hotel staff had access to the restaurant (we know they passed there), so it also had an impact on the comfort of the apartment. Nevertheless – we give 10. We were really satisfied and if we ever come to Istanbul again, we will stay at the Prag Hotel, but maybe in a different room 😉.

First of all you need to learn that many hotel owners in Istanbul are bullying their customer into giving a great review, even though the hotel is miserable. This is not the case here. The hotel is in an ideal location to explore the major tourist attractions by foot. Everything you want to get to is a short walk away. There are some uphill routes but nothing to worry about. Our first contact was with Demir which was absolutely amazing in helping us with everything we required. I can not speak highly enough of him. He's been kind enough to help us with great tips for Istanbul first comers and was genuinely attentive to us. The hotel and the room was squeaky clean, everything is brand new, no leaking faucets, rust or worn out stuff, no funny smells either. The towels were replaced daily although we left them hanging to dry. The cleaning lady was there daily to clean the room spotless. The breakfast is really good with a great variety of food for every taste, literally dozens of dishes to choose from, with fresh fruits, deserts etc.. The hotel is surrounded by lots of small shops with decent priced goods. Also, there's lots of restaurants nearby offering both authentic excellent local cuisine as well as international more mainstream dishes. While some may argue that the price is above average for Istanbul, do yourself a favor and choose this one instead of the shady ones luring you with good prices and apparently good reviews. Those tourists are bullied/blackmailed into giving high rating for some dark smelly room.

Nothing to mention

We stayed at Opatija hotel, sister hotel of Prag Hotel opposite on the street. The staff was really hospitable and kind! Always greeting with their bright and genuine smiles. The property is newly built so the furnishing & interior was all very pristine. The housekeeping was well done as well. And the breakfast was actually the highlight! For 3 days we enjoyed the breakfast at Optaija. Every single thing on the menu was EXTREMELY delicious! I over-ate there throughout! There were so many desserts & Turkish savories. Thoroughly enjoyed breakfast at a hotel after ages!

The property is on a very steep road so it might be something to consider for people with mobility issues. But this is really good value for money regardless & every other thing about the hotel is just amazing! I would always stay there again whenever I visit Istanbul, which is hopefully soon.

Perfect location very close to the all tourists sightseeing attractions. Great place to stay at a reasonable price, the hotel is new, everything in the room was also extremely clean. Free internet access. The hotel has free private parking, we arrived with our car, there were no problems finding the hotel. Something important to watch out for if you come with a personal car the streets are closed by the municipality automatically in the time slot from 10am to 10pm, but you can still access the hotel after showing a reservation to the people who operate the barriers. I would like to express special thanks to Emir for everything he did and helped us, a really good man, a real host. The breakfast also was fantastic. Thank you very much and see you again!

I have nothing to complain about, just avoid being accommodated in the rooms on the ground floor due to the bad smell of cat urine in the area, however it does not depend on the hotel, we will definitely be back again.

The personnel was amazing and super friendly and helpful. The location was very good in terms if having a good access to key points. The room was very nice and pretty large and equipped with everything you need. The breakfast was tasty and had everything. It has private parking which is absolutely great for this part of the city if you come with car.

It will be good if the hotel notifies in advance the guests that the hotel is in a restricted area for cars from 10 am to 10 pm and you need to show your reservation to get in. We wasted some time to figure out how to get in especially with the huge traffic in the city.

My room was spacious and super clean. The breakfast was varied and delicious. The hotel is close to the Grand Bazaar, Haguia Sophia, tram, etc. There is a safe in the room. The staff was very friendly.

There was some confusion regarding my reservation during check-in, which is why I don't give a 10/10. This was solved quickly though. In general lines, I recommend this hotel for your stay in Istanbul.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious. The breakfast buffet was very good, offering quite a variety of options. Free tea and coffee all day.

The lounge area offering tea and coffee could be better stocked. On most occasions there was no water in the kettle and bo milk. Thus area could be improved. The cleaning staff only cleaned the rooms at 15h00 every day which was quite late. The neighbors opposite the hotel, who I believe could have been the owners of the hotel, were noisy until late and early hours especially over the weekend. Totally inconsiderate to guests.
