It's a lovely location by the side of the canal, surrounded by boats and fields, with terrific view of the Beacons. The room was very comfortable, with all the facilities we expected plus lots of information on walks and local attractions. There were tea-making facilities in the room and fresh milk downstairs if you wanted it. An excellent breakfast was provided. There is also a conservatory and patio for guests to use, which is a nice bonus. Car parking is provided for guests as well as a separate entrance to the rooms and guest spaces, so that you don't feel that you are intruding on the hosts privacy.

Very warm and friendly welcome. Room was very comfortable, clean, good facilities and spacious. Nice view of canal from window. Good selection for breakfast. You were not left feeling hungry. We came for a wedding so did not have a chance to fully explore the area but we were able to walk along the canal in the evening before wedding to a village for a meal in a lovely country pub. We would certainly book again and use cottage as a base to explore the area. It's literally a short drive from Brecon town itself. Excellent value for money

This place is a little gem. Very comfy and clean. Great location, right next to the canal with a lovely walking path to a lovely little pub 20 minutes walk away. The views across the valley are spectacular. Great breakfast every morning to set you up for a day of exploring this beautiful area. Having parking was great too. Sid was so very helpful with all sorts of maps available for walks in the area. Would not hesitate to recommend.

My son and I recently enjoyed a two-night stay, and we were so pleased with Ty Newydd. The rooms were not only clean and cosy but also wonderfully warm, providing a comfortable environment during our visit. The bathrooms were also perfect. The highlight of our stay was the cooked breakfast, which was truly excellent and set a great tone for the day. Rachel and Sid, the hosts, were exceptional. They made us feel incredibly welcome and were a wealth of information about the local area. We greatly appreciated the abundance of maps and guidebooks available, which helped us make the most of our time in the area. Our stay was made all the more enjoyable thanks to Rachel and Sid's hospitality and local knowledge. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

The cooked breakfast was excellent. Plenty of variety and served in a courteous and timely manner. Good coffee too! Really nice room with comfortable bed and excellent en-suite bathroom. Tea/coffee making facilities were appreciated.

One day I was due to be out and about long before breakfast, so I asked for the "packed breakfast" for that day. OK, it was prepared and ready, but absolutely, totally inadequate: two small pain au chocolat in a paper bag. A perfect combination of inadequate AND unhealthy.

The breakfast was excellent and the breakfast-room was so beautifully presented! Sid and Rachel were amazing hosts and provided us with many area sightseeing ideas. The countryside and family marina at the Ty Newydd B & B was better than the best!! I will recommend this wonderful vacation home to all my family and friends as a Must STAY for beauty and elegance. We were seeing the countryside of my ancestors from Wales. It has been the high point of our entire trip! We are intending to come back and stay another time and explore even more of the Brecon National park.

A hearty English Breakfast with lots of choices and options. Beautiful scenic views all-round with nice walks by the canal. Friendly, professional and extremely helpful hosts.

Sticky bathroom doors and low beams in our room (kept hitting my head on the wooden beams - NO real damage! - just a bit of embarrassment at myself for not being more careful).

It provided exactly the peace and quiet I was craving. Picturesque, on a canal. Welcoming hosts provided wonderful breakfasts. (They have self catering cottages too, but I like the pampering). Easy parking. Close to Brecon Beacons, and a couple of excellent pubs. Room 1 had expansive views, very comfy double bed, plenty of room.

I’d check you’re in Room 1 or 2, because the stairs get a bit hairy up to 3 and 4. They kindly moved me down when they saw the difficulty I was having. I’d like much brighter bed reading lights - I find this everywhere.

The location is great Sid was very helpful with suggestions on what we could do around the area. you could as well just stay at the property and do absolutely nothing enjoying the peace and serenity.

There was nothing to dislike here, just a couple of suggestions. 1. A rolled up anti slip mat for the bath tub for anyone who would like to use it 2. Property is well re furnished but a check on the nails on the floor wooden panels will do good.

Excellent location near the canal, great for walks and cycling, as well as short drives to Brecon and Pen-y-Fan etc. Breakfast was nicely cooked and served by our host, Sid, with various choices for the breakfast which you could select the night before. There was also a very good selection of cereals and fruits. Sid was very friendly and helpful in providing us with local information about restaurants and attractions. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 4-night stay at the ty Newydd, and plan to come back again. We would definitely recommend this idyllic place to our friends and anyone who wishes to explore the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park and surrounding countryside.
