I stayed for one evening in Church Stretton for a wedding, and I had a lovely stay at The Buck’s Head. The room was very spacious, with a large comfortable bed, table and chairs, TV and hot drinks facilities which was everything I needed. Good size bathroom completed what was a nice, vintage style room with exposed beams and rustic furnishings. I parked my car in the car park opposite (Co-Op) where you can pay for the day, and is free on Sundays (at time of my stay). I could see the car from my window so wasn’t far to unload my suitcase. I chose my breakfast items upon arrival, and the next morning, went down to breakfast where my selection was cooked up. There was a nice selection of cereals, yogurts and pastries to enjoy also, but the cooked breakfast was delicious. Sarah was a wonderful host running a lovely pub, and I’d certainly recommend this Inn to anyone thinking of staying a few nights in Church Stretton.

Having only arrived as a team relatively recently at the time of our visit in May 2024, the hosts/landlords were still settling in themselves and (as they told us) they still had one or two repairs to make and wrinkles to sort out. That said, although because of those wrinkles we haven't been able to give them an excellent rating for the facilities or comfort, the hotel was still more than good enough. The lady of the house was extremely pleasant and very helpful and Breakfast was better than OK.

The front door to the overnight accommodation couldn't be opened without help from inside at the time of our visit (!) - and that needs to be fixed urgently; in addition the WIFI set-up needs to be made clearer through a note in the room.

Well cooked traditional breakfast. Lovely hosts friendly and welcoming. Hosts accommodated our needs and were happy to provide an extra bed for our child in our large double room. Very helpful.

We were in a room above the pub area and noise does filter through as it's an old building and a pub accommodation. Other rooms may be quieter in the evening. Extremely quiet after 11pm- not even traffic noise from main road. Basic but comfortable accommodation.

The host's were lovely. The rooms were very clean. We had a lovely breakfast. Would definitely stay here again. The position was central. The public car park is opposite is free from 6 pm till 8 am. We arrived at 3 pm. So put £2 in the meter That paid parking up till 6 o'clock. As long as you go back to the meter after 6 o'clock pm you can then pay for parking for the next day. We put another £ 3 in that then gave us parking till 11 am. So very reasonable..😊

The young couple who now run the Bucks Head are the perfect hosts. Friendly, welcoming and enthusiastic about their pub. The bar staff (especially Emma) so helpful. Our room was fantastic, clean, comfortable and with lots of character. Perfect location for exploring the area, everything within walking distance. Great for cyclists like ourselves. And then the FOOD - WOW! JUST DELICIOUS. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PUB/BandB. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Room was lovely with great shower. Breakfast was fab. Staff generally v friendly.

Our room (3) was right overhead bar entrance. Pretty noisy with smokers and peeps coming and going. Although I was tired ( walking trip) I couldn’t get to sleep ( even though I used ear plugs) until past closing at around 1115. A shame because in every other respect, it was a great place to stay.

Nice inn right in the centre of Church Stretton. Good food, both in the evening and for breakfast. The new owners are very keen to please. There were some booking problems when I tried to book online (end of March 2024), so you may want to phone the hotel to confirm that they have received the booking.

Amazing old building, with 13th century beam running through the bedroom! Spacious room, nice bath. Amazing location in centre of Church Stretton. Really lovely happy friendly atmosphere in the pub.

I thought it was a double room but it was two single beds put together. The mattress was too soft for me, but Sarah found me a mattress which was perfect and I slept well.

Located in the heart of Church Stretton, the Bucks Head Hotel manages to pack a lot of rural charm into a relatively small building. The new owners of the hotel have taken great strides to improve it since they took over management from the previous proprietor. Overall, a great place to stay if you’re looking to explore the Shropshire area.

Very welcoming; owners helpful at all times. Rooms were most comfortable and well provided. A good breakfast each morning. Later menu with plenty of choice, and lovely dishes. Three fine cask ales on (Marstons).

Nothing really.
