Lovely setting overlooking the river.

The rooms are stylish and as of the moment regarding colours. However, there was no mirror above the dressing table/desk. The small amount of wall space was used to mount a tv. Plenty of sockets to plug in a hairdryer but no mirror !. Modern subdued overhead lighting and bedside lighting which is not good enough to do hair or makeup using the small mirror over the fireplace. This happens in the design of so many hotel rooms, you are stood in shadow, definitely not designed by women !. There is a good mirror in the bathroom but not usable when a partner is using the room due to privacy and steamed up mirror from the shower running.

The setting was beautiful, the room was very comfortable but not lush enough to warrant the cost. The staff were great and breakfast experience was very pleasant with freshly cooked meals. The real ale selection is good and service is quite quick.

The evening meals were just average pub grub with oven style chips only just warm and hard peas starting to dry. . Freshly cooked chips aren't hard to master and veg just needs to be steamed for 10 mins. The pies looked amazing but lacked flavour. The ice cream deserts came out in warm glass ware and so were already melting when they got to the table. The Chef / Hotel chain need to up their game on the meal quality.

Absolutely beautiful setting. Room was clean and comfortable apart from some minor cleaning details in the bathroom (large web on light fitting) and flooring under radiator coming up.

We had eaten there at lunch time and really enjoyed what we had so booked a table for the evening service. I had steak and ale pie with mash and veg. My partner cod and chips. My pie was delicious but the mash and veg looked and tasted microwaved( not very tasty and the chips my partner had were frozen) . A bit of a let down after our tasty lunch. We also had breakfast on two days which was absolutely knock out( potato rosties to die for. Lady on breakfast duty was lovely ( nothing was too much trouble, very pleasant).

Lovely building in a lovely riverside location. It is more than a bit out of town which was perfect for us but you have easy access into Shrewsbury by road. Our room was large and very comfortable with a view from the bed straight down part of the river watching the ducks and swans swim by. Breakfast was delicious and did not lack anything. We stayed 2 nights and had a meal in the restaurant on the first night which was very nice and good value for money. Overall would definitely recommend and would stay again if ever in the area.

The view from the restaurant to the river was amazing and the staff were super friendly. Extra thumbs up to Cherry, what a lovely, friendly personality. Our room was great and really spacious.

The shower was in a bath and couldn't be adjusted in height, if you don't want to wash your hair, it's going to get soaked anyway. Also the shower water did not run free down the drain, standing ankle deep in soap and shampoo. We did mention this the following morning but nothing had been done about it.

beautiful location overlooking the River Severn. large patio area with outside seating, even provide outside heaters and blankets. Accommodation was spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed, we stayed in the executive room which was huge and the bathroom was massive. good cooked breakfast and evening meals were lovely too.

one young waitress was a bit rude when we asked for an Irish coffee. we first received a hot chocolate. the Irish coffee arrived but was clearly a latte and when questioned, she said it had gone terribly wrong, so I don’t think she knew how to make one and rolled her eyes when she took it away. also toilet roll replacement would have been nice on the second day.

Good choice of breakfast menu, all included in the price. 2 mornings I had full English, with as much coffee as I wanted, and also a glass of fruit juice, the other breakfast I had was cereal followed by a stack of pancakes, maple syrup and bacon. It was really tasty, first time I’d tried it! It won’t be the last. We had 3 evening meals here too, very good choice, good quality food, and reasonable prices.

Only one thing that was promptly and efficiently dealt with. On our first evening, after dinner, we returned to a ‘drain’ smell in the room, and after a member of staff came to investigate, we were offered another room within 5 minutes, which we gladly accepted. He apologised for the problem, we thanked him for his immediate attention, and that was sorted.

When I booked the room back in January from the pictures I seen on the Internet it looked like there was a walk in shower so I chose this room thinking that was the case as I have spinal stenosis so the ease of a walk in shower is exactly why I chose that room and that hotel. But on arrival I found no walk in shower and when I spoke to the lady that checked us in regarding my issue she said that I couldn't be moved which was very disappointing for me ultimately me leaving the following day in pain

All of the hotels/restaurants in this chain are always really nice. The location and view was stunning, good food menu, great gluten free and vegan options, wish we had taken our dogs as they were really welcoming to dogs. Hotel room was nicely decorated and had everything you needed.

The hotel room was up on the top floor, there is no lift so it was quite tiring getting the cases up there and then down the next day. There was a really tiny high up window so it would have been nicer to see outside without having to climb up to see out!

The staff were excellent, efficient, helpful and very friendly. The setting is lovely with beautiful gardens by the river. The food is good and good value. Having fresh milk provided in our room was a nice bonus.

The stairs are steep and difficult to manage when like us you are older and less able. We were on the second floor and my husband found it very difficult. However there was no problem getting someone to take our case up and down for us.
