The location was excellent, easy to reach the land marks that we wanted to visit. Parking on site but was not owned by the hotel so was a bit pricey, but then we were near the centre of Durham. Breakfast was lovely and plenty of it so kept us going most of the day.

The only thing that let the visit down was the bed and pillows. The Head of Housekeeping needs to go round and test the beds. We had a large double bed, so 2 singles put together. The only problem was that on each of the beds the side edge of the inside had collapsed therefore a lot of roll together, the mattresses simply needed to be flipped so you weren't hanging onto the outer edge all night. The pillows also needed changing as very flat. A simple inspecting by head housekeeping would highlight this. It was a shame as the room was lovely, well maintained and kept very clean by the housekeeping staff.

Third time now at this hotel and as on previous stays, great hotel in a great location for visiting Durham. Nice gym and pool/spa facilities and great breakfast. Very comfortable beds. Staff very helpful with any queries or issues. I am overly noise-sensitive and the low hum of the air conditioning unit bothered me, even when it was turned off. I doubt this would bother any other guests though and they very quickly got someone out to turn the whole thing off in the ceiling, for which I was grateful!

There was a large tour group there the one night, who also used the bar. One guy (in his 50s), seemed to think he was at home and put his shoes on to the table, but staff didn't say anything, which was rather disappointing and as a single female, I didn't dare approach him and tell him off (was southern European, not sure he even spoke much English). Just disappointed not a single staff member challenged him!

Great location overlooking the river. Excellent communications before we arrived. Liked that you could pre order parking and breakfast at a discount. Staff were lovely and welcoming. Room spotlessly clean, very quiet and bed really comfortable. Accommodated our request for twin beds. Slept really well. Bottles of water were a nice touch. Like fact that there was an ice machine in corridor.

No plug socket near bed to charge phone. Would have liked some biscuits on tea tray. Beds around pool very hard and not comfortable. Wished we could have had a drink round pool. Some people were having prosecco but we were told this was just for those on spa break yet there were posters round the pool advertising drink promos.

We needed a hotel to go to a funeral and stop over for a couple of extra days to be with the family. the location of the hotel is great with it being close to the city centre. We didn't choose a river view but the view from the rear was equally as good and the main northern rail line wasn't a problem as all trains were going slow due to Durham station being very close. We've stayed at several hotels in the area and the Raddisson is probbaly the best there. It's far enough away from the night life for it not to be intrusive.

The bathroom filled the purpose but probably was getting ready for a bit of an update. We are not lovers of having the shower over the bath and it would be far better if the rooms were changed to having a dediacted shower rather than baths.

Spacious. Accessible . Clean. Helpful staff. Selection of food at breakfast. Lots to choose from. Loved the ice machine

Hash browns at breakfast were soggy due to steam. Sausages were sometimes were not as hot as I would like. But this wouldn't put me off. Ham omelette was huge slices of bacon. Not what I had in mind. Breakfast selection is very good for choice. Order from menu too. The location is okay. Nice to look at bridge and river. Getting into market square takes about 10- 15 mins. No shops nearby apart from market square. Stayed 3 days in superior room. Housekeeping replenished water .towels. sundries in bathroom just one of the days. We were a little surprised at this. Thought this would have been daily. We didn't leave the towels to get changed to be fair. But the glasses in bathroom and bedroom were not replaced. Again...not enough reason to stop us using raddison.

The location was spot on with its own parking which is rare. We went to reception to register our parking and asked if it was possible to book in early. The lovely receptionist told us that we were “guests of the day” which upgraded us to a better room, overlooking the river, free parking, free breakfast (in bed or in the restaurant) late checkout and 10% of restaurant bookings!!! Simply sublime and completely unexpected as we had never heard of this before. Will definitely stay in this chain again.

Very minor- water pressure in the shower as we’re used to strong pressure but not the hotels fault!

Large spacious room overlooking the River. Bed very comfortable. Particularly impressed with bathroom. Very clean. Good breakfast and staff very friendly and helpful.

As we are in our 70s we found the hike from hotel into town quite a struggle with steep roads and alot of steps to climb. We tried to order a taxi to take us back to the station but were told there were no taxis available due Open Day at the University. So we had to lug our cases up to the station in the heat. A shuttle bus would be a good idea for the hotel to introduce. Very noisy outside with people returning between 1-3pm in the morning so we're woken several times.

The beds were supremely comfortable and we slept very well. Our upgraded room was great - Nespresso machine was welcome. Room 414 was quiet and peaceful. Water pressure was dreadful in sink but good in the shower. One thing - the shower gel on the wall is a bugger to use - after a few trial squirts - missed hand/didn’t come out/a tiny drop - I gave up and used my own. The pool however is not really suitable for a quick swim: the pool area is full of people on three hour Prosecco packages which means every lounger/chair is bagged with a towel. Also no tokens available at the entrance so you need a pound for the locker. I had neither and had to dump everything poolside on a grubby looking windowsill as the one available lounger in a corner was quickly bagged by the person next to it who transferred her enormous wine glass and mobile phone to it when she saw me coming!!!!! We didn’t bother with breakfast- £15 each and five of us - we went into town to a place called Clappers(?) and got four great breakfasts for around £20 (son went to Greggs). I felt for the price £123 breakfast should have been included. Car park is £14 for 24 hours. But a pleasant stay overall.

Room was spacious and contained everything needed for a short stay. Including a coffee machine, kettle, iron and board, hairdryer and as robes and slippers. Also there was an ice machine by the lifts. We were upgraded to a river view room. The pool was very nice and the two mornings I used it it was fairly quiet and plenty of room to swim.

When we first checked in they gave us a massive twin room but it was not suitable as the bathroom was adapted for wheel chair users and we did not want to take this facility in case someone who needed it booked in. The receptionist was excellent in upgrading us but the room we had was far too hot and we did not have any windows that could be opened. The reception advised that the aircon doesn’t operate fully at this time of year so we were unable to cool the room. But it did not affect our overall enjoyment of the hotel.

Our room was comfortable & clean with everything we needed. Staff were very friendly & helpful, the location was ideal & breakfast was extremely enjoyable - a lovely variety & high quality.

It would have been nice to have some biscuits in our room! Although it did mention it in the small print, we hadn't realised we had to pay extra for parking. We felt this was a little unnecessary & should be included in the price of the room, or at least discounted for people staying at the hotel, as there turned out to be much cheaper parking just down the road.
