The room was specious and comfortable. the only down side was that the gas radiator was not working but an electric fan heater was provided. The water in the shower was fine but there was no hot water in the WH basin. The breakfast was excellent and Ian was very accommodating with any request.

The stairs to our room can be a bit tricky for elderly people. Would have like the radiator to be working and hot water in the WH basin.

The host, Ian, was exceptionally helpful and pleasant. The balcony on the room was a lovely extra plus and the finishes in the property were well done to a high standard. A beautiful little breakfast room was really pretty and we enjoyed sitting in here this morning. The breakfast was first class and very good quality. The bed mattress was very comfy and the sheets felt lovely and new. The property was so well organised with a simple tablet that you use to book breakfast and find out information.

The room (number 1) is very small and tight to move around, however, fine for a one night stay. My partner did find the bed very neat due to being over 6ft. The bar wasn’t open, however, Ian said it’s just having some building work done. The Spa and Swimming pool (off-site) was great to have in the price but a bit run down in places - changing rooms etc. Car-park is tight - thankfully I have a small car.

The place was Beautiful,place it more or less had everything you needed

I was at the top floor and disabled so was hard for me ! Could have more white toast as more mixed would bave been nice.Everything was on a tablet any problems etc do it on Tablet you could buy things and also Order food ut had only one choice pizza ! The iron and iron board were really Needing upgrading too go with high standers of the place ( one each room far more nicer The young girl was so helpful would been nice black trousers white blouse or black for her uniform would be great for hef. The shower in my room so small and Inside as well was a struggle needs too be looked at as were not big big people.. Other thing didnt like was tablet i like dealing with people and big issue Was amount of extensions and plugs In my room.

Just prior to our arrival Ian contacted us and said he had upgraded us from our original room choice to the Suite which was absolutely gorgeous and contained the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. I have a special dietary requirement and Ian had it all well in hand, it means such a lot to me to feel confident in the host's knowledge of my requirements. My husband and myself really felt looked after in every respect, our accommodation was amazing, the breakfast was fantastic and the location could not be better. We loved the concept of the Honesty Bar, we only used it once but it was so welcome after a day out to just be able to take a beer to our terrace and relax. We will definitely be returning.

Honestly there was nothing that could have been improved. Parking is a bit limited but we were told we could park across the road on the church car park so it was never an issue.

From arrival meeting Ian the host, everything was superb. The decor is very stylish and high quality (feet sink into carpets!!) Very comfortable bed, a fridge/wine cooler in the wardrobe/tablet to use (including booking breakfast/trips etc)The outdoor balcony was great to sit out in the sun overlooking the beck, although we did not use the bar down on the terrace, we did have a couple of beers from the fridge in the dining room which is an honesty system. Breakfast was lovely, quality, piping hot. Glencree is in a great location 15 minute walk down to Bowness or 10 minutes up to Windemere. The only downside was the fact we were only there for one night!! Highly recommend a stay here, we will definitely be returning and maybe splash out on the suite with the hot tub!

Absolutely nothing!

Absolutely superb friendly hosts. Ian was always laughing and chatty and welcoming. As was Gary who we spoke to about amenities and our accommodation and the renovations that have been made whilst we were complimenting the surroundings. The attention to detail and level of added luxuries to add to our comfort here were lovely. We stayed in the King room. It was immaculate. A bidet toilet ,double rainhead shower and double sink felt luxurious. Bed was incredibly comfortable and beautifully styled. Bedding was of lovely quality crisp and soft and clean. We had Coffee /tea complimentary biscuits. Coffee maker kettle and mini fridge. Hair dryer and even fan heater if you felt chilly. The tablet provided with local information and for ordering drinks and breakfast is a great idea . Self check in and out of rooms is so helpful and saves handing in or potentially losing keys ! Superb efficient breakfast with great quality ingredients. Sausage was superb and locally sourced from a local farm shop . There was a great condiment choice provided. The decor and soft furnishings are so tasteful . The window dressings and fabric choices I loved !! They have really gone out of their way here to provide those special additions to enhance your stay. Balconies,plenty of outdoor seating and a heated bar area to enjoy the sound of the river and views are so relaxing and all part of the charm. Next time We will book the hot tub suite if available. We are regular visitors to the Lake District and this is by far the most I have enjoyed . I really felt relaxed and comfortable in this happy haven of Joy. Compliments to Ian ( and his Mum for the window dressings) and to Gary for his great handiwork . Both really friendly guys who you can tell take pride and pleasure in what they do We will most definitely be back ❤️ Glencree is gorgeous.

Hard one to answer this.. My only small thing , and it is very minor,would be that in the shower there was no where to place toiletries other than the floor (and that's only personal as I have a bad back )

Ian was a great host...very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel itself was excellent all round inc furnishings, decor, facilities and breakfast. Small number of parking spaces but free use of church car park opposite which is a great help. Straight outside is a bus stop where you could hop on and off for £2 fare each...didn't need the car. Hotel exceeded all expectations . Would recommend.

Pleasant distance to walk to Bowness downhill but difficult for two 74 year olds coming back. However problem solved with bus or taxi which was excellent value. Used both for going and coming back from evening meal which is worth booking in advance

Ian was an exceptional host, very attentive and down to earth. The property has a very homely feel to it, and I think Ian’s manner creates the relaxed atmosphere you feel as soon as you walk through the door. The rooms are very well appointed and have everything you need for a short stay including a fridge, hairdryer, fan, coffee machine - unlike most hotel chains, you are provided with lots a of tea bags, coffee, milk, biscuits and even hot chocolate! The beds are huge, comfortable and the bed linen is of a high quality as are the towels. We will definitely return very soon.

The sign for the property was missing so we drove past it twice before finding it!!!

We was only given our booking details that morning to be informed of the spiral staircase leading to our room which was a problem for my partner with bad knees, although the hotel was fully booked we was moved the next morning. We feel this should included on the booking information so not to cause any disappointment. Just some small attention to details needed in rooms coffee machine needed a clean in both rooms and broken lamp shade on landing up spiral stair case .

Breakfast very good, catered for dietary requirements Problem in room (extractor fan) fixed quickly. Ian very helpful and accommodating, bed comfortable and free parking was a bonus, especially with extra across the road. Ian available on the phone at any time and quick to answer messages. Access to the local health club was an added bonus.

Nowhere to put shampoo etc in shower- could do with a shelf. Need a few more sockets in room. Duvet too thick for the current weather, perhaps have a sheet separately. Difficult to close curtains.
