The location was convenient and close to our destination.

When we travel, I usually look for Holiday Inn Expresses because I can count on their consistent quality. This hotel was no disappointment in that it was very clean, location was excellent and staff very personable. Having said that, and in answering your question as to what may have fallen short, there were very minor issues and they were both located in the bathroom. The shower bar supporting the curtain was barely hanging in there and the faucet felt like it was only being held in by the massive amount of applied calk. I would definitely consider this hotel again for our next trip to Fort Payne though.

We stopped for the night on our way to North Georgia. The hotel is right off of the highway. We got in very late...about 12:30 a.m. The front desk clerk was friendly and efficient and the parking area was well lit. The air conditioning was on in our room and it was nicely chilled. (This is not a given. Often rooms are hot and stuffy when we arrive, so this was a pleasant surprise. ) The room was clean and the bed and linens were cool and comfortable. The room was also quite spacious and we had plenty of room for our mountain bikes. Shower pressure was great and the bathroom was a good size.

I was a little disappointed with breakfast. Although it was much better than what has been offered at most hotels lately, it wasn't great. The bacon was very fatty and not very crisp. Scrambled eggs were hot, but not much flavor. They did have very delicious cinnamon rolls and Chobani Greek yogurt which I appreciated.

Breakfast was great. Especially loved the pancake maker, never saw that before. Does everyone of your hotels have these? Bed was comfy, pillows comfy. A great stay.

The front desk person took way too long to check people in. She also let me wait over 30 minutes to call for backup. And that was only because the line behind me was 3 more check ins.

The location was great. Rooms were super comfortable and clean. It's a nice place to stay.

I didn't care much for the manager laughing at us when we tried to find out why my card was charged in full even though we paid upon booking. Being charged twice is apparently a hilarious joke to her. Mistakes happen but there's no reason to be a condescending smart alec.

The room was very clean and quiet. plenty of parking. The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to be helpful.

The back way in had a very danky smell, almost like urine but it was directly by the swimming pool so that may have been the source. Folks coming in and out wet can not be helped by the hotel.

Our King room turned out to be a mini-suite! It was spacious, with a sleeping area, a sitting area with a couch, and a tiny kitchen. There were two TVs, one in each living area. The room was pleasantly decorated and sparkling clean. Breakfast was exceptional for a hotel, featuring a choice of cheese omelets, veggie omelets (delicious!), or scrambled eggs, with sausage.

The only glitch in our stay was that the TVs, high-tech and interactive, with a screen that greeted us by name on arrival and allowed us to check out from the room, also turned themselves on repeatedly after we'd turned them off! It was both a little creepy and kind of fun. We reported it to the front desk and told them we'd just unplug the TVs at bedtime and the maintenance staff could deal with them the next day.

The breakfast selection was very good and easily accessible. Getting fresh hot coffee, including decaf which is very important to me, was super easy. Everyone on staff was friendly, helpful and very pleasant to interact with. Parking was easy and the property inside and outside was very clean and well kept. The room was spacious, had everything we needed and the bed was so comfortable. It was a great place to stay. Will definitely stay there again on next trip to visit family.

I have no complaints. All needs were met, staff was great.

The staff was so nice. Clean rooms, clean dining area and breakfast bar. Good food too. The room was supplied with everything we needed including good body wash, shampoo and conditioner...and not just the tiny little sample bottles. The hotel had restaurants very close by.

Only one negative thing I can say about our room...the bathroom had a bit of a musty smell to it but it was very clean. I didn't notice a ventilation fan.

It was close to the interstate. It was near many decent eating places. Easy to get in and out onto traffic. Enjoyed the complimentary breakfast as well. Staff was friendly and nice and very helpful. In a good location.

Nothing that I didn't like about the property. There was a few things in the room that were construction related that wasn't really big things to me but could have been to others. Towels racks and handles in shower were loose and could have possibly caused issues for others that needed to use them.

The location was very convenient and easy to find. The breakfast was better than we expected. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly.

It could have been quieter but the bothersome noise was not from sources the hotel staff could be expected to control.
