The location is serene. The staff is warm. The meal was delicious. I appreciated being in the main space bc I was with my son and it was cold. It was nice not to have to leave once we arrived.

There wasn’t sufficient window/door coverage to keep out light in mornings for a longer sleep. The bathroom could use updating but it fits the vibe of the space

We enjoyed the few days spent in this quiet house. Our room was spacious and close to 2-3 hiking spots. Adam, our host, was really kind, attentive and gave us good advices. Breakfast was delicious, especially the eggs recipe that we really liked. Jérémy and Céline

Breakfast was delicious and similar to what you find in many European lodgings. They offer a tasty, mostly homemade selection of items for both breakfast and on their dinner/room service menu, including a fantastic apple pie straight from the oven. The beds were very comfortable, and the staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. We really enjoyed the relaxing environment and being surrounded by the beauty of nature. It's hard to beat seeing and hearing a waterfall just outside your room, and there are several gorgeous spots within a 10 minute hike from your room (see photos).

While we truly loved everything about our experience, some may be a little challenged by the remoteness of the location. Quiet Mind is 10+ miles up a winding country road from the nearest (small) town. It is in Sequoia National Forest, but during the winter the road to the north closes and access to Sequoia National Park requires a long drive. It's also worth noting that this is a remote, historic property, so things we found charming (like the old growth redwood ceilings and panelling) may seem "outdated" to other guests.

It’s a lovely place in the middle of Sequoia National forest. It’s a great getaway if you want some peace and quiet away from everything. There’s a lovely river passing through the property. The nearest town is at least 30 min away. Because I went during winter time, part of the forest ahead was closed so to get to Sequoia National park it was a much longer driver. Just a heads up about that. Unfortunately I had to leave a day earlier due to a work emergency. They were very accommodating with my situation. I will definitely be back. They also had an amazing apple pie, and everything was very clean. The staff was very nice.

This place is truly an experience, and an exceptional one at that. The location is magical, and everyone who works there is so kind. It's incredible that such a calm and secluded place exists only a few hours away from such a big city as Los Angeles. It's a bit of a journey to reach the Lodge (there were a few times during the drive when I wondered if we were going the right way) but there's only one road so it isn't as though as you can take a wrong turn. Plus the drive itself is just *chef's kiss* -- it's such a great way to see the National Park. My advice is to have the directions loaded on your phone before entering the park and "trusting the process" as the saying goes. A very tasty breakfast is included (we love it when breakfast is included), but you'll have to order room service or leave the property for other meals. It's a bit of a drive to the nearest restaurant if nothing on the room service menu strikes your fancy, but the trade-off for the distance is the lodge's seclusion. You really do feel like you're in another world. I would write more, but I don't want to spoil all the lovely surprises (plus you can just go ahead and look up the location and amenities if you're really curious).

I personally enjoyed that the room didn't have a TV but other people might not. Then again, I don't see why anyone who absolutely NEEDS a TV would be checking out a place that's literally called "Quiet Mind." Take a break from all that excessive stimulation while you're out here!

This place is for you if you are looking for some quiet time actually. It's a very peaceful place. The rooms are surrounded by beautiful nature, there is a river close by and you can go for a little hike. Lovely room, all very clean and beautiful. The retreat offers a beautiful outdoor pavilion which can be used for yoga and meditation. Another highlight is the spa. The personnel at Quiet Mind Retreat are very friendly and mindful indeed and you can get a tasty vegetarian meal in the evening and for breakfast. It is the perfect place to calm down after busy times.

All was perfect!

The location was great, right on the edge of a creek with water falls that was just below the balcony of the room were staying in, and the night sky was filled with stars, a star gazers delight. The breakfast was great many toppings to choose from for the waffles,pancakes or oatmeal, a nice selection of teas to choose from and the coffee was great,! I even asked for the brand name of their coffee so I could buy some for myself.

The only thing that I would suggest is to have more lighting in the room, either larger table lamps or a floor lamp next to the sofa.

BEAUTIFUL. Jacuzzi by the river and waterfall. Stargazing spots nearby. WiFi was excellent. A couples-sized claw foot tub was available and LOVELY. The rooms were very spacious, clean, and the king sized bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and served each morning. The staff were fantastic and knowledgeable about the area. They were also very patient with our late check-in, as we went from SFO to Monterey to see the Pacific Ocean, and then drove in at around 9:30pm or so. We spent two nights there and it was phenomenal. It really did quiet the mind! Close by to the Trail of 100 Giants (I have been wanting to see Sequoias since I was a kid!), and it was just a spectacular time. I highly recommend this venue.

Beautiful and peaceful location , staff worked hard and were very polite and attentive, room newly decorated, breakfast was good. You could get dinner if ordered in advance, which was OK if you were really hungry (no meat).

No wardrobe ,needed another shower curtain ,not enough staff, no spa or wellness facilities as advertised. Very expensive, fridge goods and extras in room and miles from the nearest town/ shop if you required a snack. A lot still needed updating mending , generally tatty ,they were in the process of making the site better. So l would give it a few years and maybe go back to see if it had improved.

Quiet Mind, a lucky find for us. We had booked as a stop over whilst travelling around the national parks but wished we'd had a week or longer here. The setting is beautiful and the owners lovely. They really are providing something special for guests. Home cooked dinner options and a wonderful breakfast. Located in a most wonderful spot, anybody who has the chance to stay here must! A real retreat for those who want to disconnect and enjoy life's simplicity at its most beautiful.
