We loved the location. The room, the patio and view, the pool, and the entire property were beautiful. It was a very friendly and easy check-in. We arrived on a Saturday and checked out on Monday. Although there was a "no vacancy" sign posted, it was very peaceful and quiet.
This is minor compared to all the comments, but the place could use a handyman. The bathtub didn't work (or the water was turned off). But there was a separate shower with really nice water pressure. Some patio furniture around the pool was broken. When we lifted a canopy on one of the loungers, it fell and hit me on the head pretty hard. Even with this, we would stay here again. Everything else was amazing.

Everything! The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are scattered among large, gorgeous Sequioa trees. The property is next to the river and some rooms have a river view from private balconies. The river is accessible down a maintained path. Our room was great and even had a fireplace. The staff was very friendly and responsive to all our requests. When an unexpected problem occurred with the water lines, they went above and beyond to make sure we were not negatively impacted in any way! They truly care about their guests! We will definitely be back!
Nothing - what's not to like.

Check-in and check-out were very easy, the bed was super comfortable, the fireplace gave the living room a cozy vibe, the microwave worked well, the mini fridge kept food cold, the jet tub was perfect, the property was cute, and the TV had an hdmi cord. Very close to downtown and Sequoia National Forest.
There wasn’t much room in the freezer portion of the mini fridge, the bathroom was sloped in a way where water from the shower would leak into the rest of the area. The couch was made from a leather-like material so it was cold in winter. A blanket would’ve been a nice addition. The office closes early, but we were still able to check-in fine. It is a 3 hour drive to Sequoia National Park.

The location and surroundings are quaint, well-kept and beautiful. I love that the lodging is so close to sierra gateway, yet on the other side of town so it's not as hustling and bustling. You are able to enjoy beautiful scenery on the premises and get the sense that you're away from the city. We had an upstairs unit above the leasing office because I've had bad experiences staying in other places on the lower level. I loved having our own private patio to come out and enjoy the fresh mountain air, scenery, get some sun, yet still have privacy. We had neighbors upstairs but I didn't hear them much through the walls, maybe a little bit of muffled conversation and that's it. The pines that line the property are beautiful and you can tell they put effort into the landscaping. I really enjoyed coming down to the common BBQ area and seeing the vining rose bushes all along the fences and climbing the archway. We didn't get to use the BBQ but it seemed like the area was clean. I didn't use the pool either, but I did go in to check it out. Before leaving, we took the trail down to the river, which is less than a 5 minute walk and highly recommended. There are some bramble bushes when you get to the river bank, so be careful. They're prickly! The bed was nice and firm. I like firm beds so I didn't mind it at all, but my husband didn't like it and couldn't sleep well. I did also enjoy hearing the songs of the frogs at night! The linens appeared to be clean as well. We definitely liked how large and spacious the bathroom in the king suite is with two sinks and plenty of space. They have a lot of cute decor around the room, but I think our favorite was the little bear they made with the towel on the ice bin. We've stayed at a few other places around Kernville, and this is so far our best experience. We will most likely be regulars here!
The shower stall is a decent size, but the showerhead didn’t move well, so I had trouble with getting it to angle right. While we know we signed up for a kitchenette, the overall area of the kitchen prep area is small. You can make your cofee and microwave whatever you need, but there isn't really any counter space, but you can make it work! I did like that we were upstairs and above the office for privacy reasons, but our particular location has the bedroom window facing the street side so it was a little noisy at night when cars would intermittently drive by. I slept with ear plugs.

Great find - lovely rooms. We got a river view and it was just that with the moutains in the background. Great veranda (roomy). Room was also great. Check in was easy (although not always manned after a certain time - so check in time needed and agreed). Short drive to Kernville which is a great little town. Didnt see any bears but lots of birds. Peaceful setting would recommend.
Being British we always find the lack of been able to have a nice cup of tea in a morning a let down, but thats just us.

I liked the place, it has what I need and the location is good, the staff is very friendly
I think that if they are offering daily cleaning service they have to be more careful when doing it because they only made my bed. I asked for my towels to be changed but I realized that they didn't even go into the bathroom The towels were still on the floor and the trash wasn't taken out.

The location is amazing. The views from the lodges and the pool were spectacular. The lodges themselves were comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff were very helpful and accommodated our late arrival easily. I would definitely recommend Whispering Pines Lodge for a quiet escape at the edge of the Sierras
My only complaint, and this is very minor, was that the pool gathered a lot of debris from the surrounding pines and I would have to skim it myself every morning but I honestly didn’t mind.

Everything! We asked for extra pillows which were in the room when we arrived. Staff is very accommodating and go out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The bed and pillows were soft and very comfortable, the balcony overlooked the river, and there is a short path to the water's edge. There is even a fireplace in the room! Our stay was excellent.

Great location with lovely views from the balcony overlooking the river and mountains. Nice pool and felt secure. Really friendly lady who checked us in.
There wasn’t anything particularly negative, but it could the decor and bathroom could be updated and it would have been nice to have a full length wardrobe with a hanging rail. One of the lights didn’t work.

The surroundings are spectacular, the sound of the stream nearby, the nature. The lodge itself is really cozy. And the support we've received from the staff was amazing: the help with the check-in, yes; but also we accidentally left some of our stuff in the lodge and they shipped it to us by international mail very quickly. Shame we only spent one night there.
Can't really think of anything.
