The hotel was exceptionally clean, towels and bed linens were a good quality. The room was large and had a balcony. I appreciate that it had a 4 cup coffee maker, a fridge and a microwave. The location was excellent to walk to all the stores and restaurants in in Mariposa and was about a 1 hour drive to Yosemite National Park. (Longer if there was traffic...go early on a weekend) The hotel was VERY quiet. I couldn't hear any of my neighbors even though it was full every night. The pool area was clean. The air conditioner worked well.

The balcony was nice...but it does only overlook the parking lot and there was no table to place a drink. If I book here again will probably choose to save money by getting a different (no balcony) room. No screen on the sliding door. The bed was a little soft for my taste, but some people may prefer it. The toilet paper was a little "harsh" I went to the store and bought my own. The pool is very small, so if you are looking for a pool for kids to swim in, this may not be the place, but it was a great place to relax and read a book. The hot tub had no water in it in June. The fridge was warm when I checked in, but then kept freezing everything once it got cold.

Great location and lovely, helpful staff. Comfortable beds and working AC, all you need to head out to the Yosemite wilderness in shape and have a great time! Non negligible: you have several interesting food options in town, and can order breakfast to go in advance at the Happy Burger Diner up the street. Didn't get the chance to try out the pool.

The bathrooms are a bit oldschool but nothing to worry about. Would be nice to upgrade to actual handheld shower heads and "mitigator" taps (or whatever they're called in English - allowing you to finely adjust temperature and water pressure).

We were moving out of Mariposa and needed to stay two more days cleaning up the house, closing accounts, etc. I liked the fact that the motel is located right in the middle of town, and I had stayed there a couple of times in the 90's while visiting. Mainly the location is great.

The price seemed kind of high for a motel room, and I asked if they had a discount for locals. Nope. The parking lot was packed in all areas, Travelers and tourists everywhere, lots of overflowing trash cans from food and drink packaging. Hiking boots left out on the common walkway to trip over. Aspects of hostel life.

We stayed here for a night while visiting Yosemite NP. Overall, it was a decent stay for one night - there are several restaurants, grocery shops, and cafes nearby; the room was clean but had some chemical smells (probably due to cleaning products); there were plenty of parking spaces; it was quiet (you can hear some sounds from the parking lot, but we didn't hear any noise from other rooms); it is a dog-friendly lodge where you pay $50/night for a pet fee.

One thing we didn't really like was that the staff who helped with our check-in was not so friendly; when I asked some questions about the lodging fee, she showed an indifferent attitude. Yet, another staff who helped our check-out was very friendly.

The lodge offers alot of extra amenities like a table and chairs, ear plugs for light sleepers (the heater/AC works really well but it is quite loud!), and extra towels and pillows. The bathroom has been recently re-done and looks great. The parking is easy and right outside your door. There are several food and shopping options within easy walking distance. Overall a very pleasant stay, especially if you are planning on visiting the nearby Yosemite National Park.

It is clear that they making every effort to make their guests comfortable so no negative comments here!

Overall, we had a great stay at Mariposa Lodge: the room is big, the beds are very comfortable, the Wi-Fi works decently, the parking lot is just in front of the room or a bit further, and the location is great. We would happily come back again!

Please note these are minor comments, but rather suggestions. What could require improvement/modernizing is the room condition; some items need renovating/repairing as we couldn't turn on one of the lamps due to the switch being broken or the iron mark on the carpet floor. Also, there was no plugs on the bedside, so I think it is more important nowadays to have available plugs than a huge old phone since everybody has a cellphone in this modern time. Finally, since they promote a green approach, I would recommend them to come up with an eco-friendlier approach to soap/shampoo, by maybe adding refills instead of small product items (even though these ones are made of recyclable materials).

The hotel is lovely. The rooms are spacious and comfy. They are well-kept and clean. Also, the hair dryer and iron were really good! The staff were really wonderful. Great recommendations for Yosemite and for dinner (several options within walking distance). Really convenient for getting to Yosemite, and very easy to get to from San Francisco. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

I think the shower head was quite low (might not be ideal for someone over 6ft) but aside from that everything was great.

I did a 3,5 weeks long roadtrip and stayed in multiple hotels/hostels/motels, a different one almost every day. Mariposa Lodge was the best of all of them. It was so good, that I rearranged my schedule to stay there for another night. You need 1 hour to drive to yosemite. It is in the middle of the town, so everything you need is in walking distance. My favorite thing was the heater in the bathroom. Even in the 5 star Hilton resort hotel, they didn't have that. Also they provided Earplugs for the night.

Cannot fault our stay at Mariposa Lodge. The rooms are lovely, facilities good and the staff exceptionally helpful and kind. We were visiting Yosemite and were unsure about where to stay and whether Mariposa would be too far away. I'm so glad we chose to stay here. The town is beautiful and so friendly. We had an excellent dinner at the Charles Street dinner house and breakfast at the Happy Diner (highly recommend both). The one hour drive to Yosemite was a beautiful and peaceful one. It was also nice to have access to all of the choice of restaurants and pretty shops by staying outside the park. We would definitely recommend and stay again.

Nothing - except maybe some milk for tea for us British folk :)

So peaceful and pleasant, the best we've had so far in this trip! All you need is there and the view is beautiful. The town is actually a small village, which is also peaceful. It is 1 hour away from Yosemite park which is considered rather close. We took 2 close rooms, they were both well facilitated, very cozy and with a warm feeling (the whole scene reminded me of New Zealand). The staff is cool and helpful, and the place is clean. Highly recommended!!!

No breakfasts are offered but you can easily buy from the closest supermarket just about everything or eat at one of the restaurants in the area (the Italian restaurant is great).
