DoubleTree by Hilton Torrance - South Bay

Like most Hilton Hotels this place made me feel special. Hot cookies on arrival, nice entrance, decent pool and gym, bar and restaurant nice etc. Its also a great spot - nice and safe - 5 minute drive to golden beaches, across the road from a huge shopping complex.

I was a little annoyed that room service came with an extra charge (on top of what was quoted on the menu). Is ts a bill shock especially when I also paid a decent tip. So a 15 buck said cost me 22....

Breakfast was pretty good. Staff was excellent, hotel was very, very clean. Location excellent

We were upgraded to a suite, which we really appreciated. But the suite was located on the other side of the hotel where we had to walk outside to get to our room. The vanity in the restroom was very small and this side seemed old. Needs a little upgrading of the furniture.

We had a family gathering in the restaurant bar. The staff there was very accommodating, even though it was last minute. Also. they let us check in super early.

Room was only cleaned once during our stay. We requested more, but it did not happen.

Cost of buffet breakfast $28 per person

The Breakfast Buffett was well stocked, nice section of choices, the coffee delicious. The staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient! The lobby was nicely decorated, as well as our room. As always, the cookies were delicious!

More lighting in the couch and TV area would be helpful.

Location was great, easy to get around and lots of different stores available for shopping, eating and treats!

We didn’t like the layout of the room as the BR toilet faced the bed when BR door was open, slider. Also during our stays the ice machine on our floor was broken and the only other one was on a different floor and that one was only barely operational!

All the staff are super helpful and friendly. Helped us a lot with bookings for attractions. Great to relax in the bar after a busy day, wonderful staff. Huge shopping mall across the road. Special mention to “Raul” he is wonderful, always has a smile, thanks.

I have stayed here a few times and it is a beautiful, classy, well organized and very clean hotel. It's lovely. Great staff. I love that they have a snack and sandwich/salad shop in addition to restaurant and bar which are both wonderful. This Doubletree is outstanding regarding food even during Covid-19. The best! Cute gift shop too. Also love that every room has a balcony. Wonderful! Not being charged for parking is also so appreciated. This hotel is a gem!

The music from restaurant/bar went on too long into the evening, I mean late! It could be heard throughout the entire place with rooms facing the pool. I had hoped and expected it to stop by 10pm, but it didn't. I was there for 2 nights. I have stayed here a few times before and never experienced this noisy out door music until this most recent visit. I was surprised by it and hope it won't happen when I visit again!

The very nice staff in the lounge restaurant, the cook at the breakfast nook area. Everybody was sincere with their smiles and greetings.

No tub in the bathroom to soak in. Also, the cashier at the breakfast nook area was not happy, complaining, gave me a garden salad when I asked and paid for a chicken/avocado salad. I didn't notice until I was too far away to do anything about it.
