there was free fruits and vegetables, cucumber water, activities, and a shared cupboard of spices, pasta, and coffee. I liked how it was co-ed, and the showers were amazing.
maybe implement a sheet that can drop down or some curtains for more sleeping privacy.

The location was good, the bed was comfortable, the space overall could have been cleaner and it is evident the bathrooms need an update. The place could use a thorough cleaning.
Definitely heard rats/mice but didn't see them. I think all the bedding could be replaced (stained/ripped holes). Showers must be cleaned out and maybe even replaced.

Really nice place, with fun stuff to do. Basketball court, tennis table, volleyball net is definitively a plus. The house have amazing spots to chill and even have a work room (The wifi is not really good to have meetings). The staff was nice. Location is good. We had a good time there.
The bathroom is way to close to beds so the sound of the toilet and the shower gets loud at a certain time of the morning or night. The wifi is not really good to have work meetings. If you're not used to see homeless people in US maybe this can be something to consider because there are a LOT living a cross the street and surroundings.

Brilliant shower. Great location. It's a different experience but if you're used to hostels then you'll be fine. If you're in a couple it's fine but if you were travelling alone its a bit strange ...no curtains on the bed.
I think this place would be perfect if the beds had a curtain. I felt very awkward getting changed. It was a hassle waiting to get into the bathroom to get changed in the morning. I understand the philosophy is openness but there's certain areas of life you just need more privacy in. Big issue with a simple fix. This is the only thing that would prevent us from staying again. Also the fridge could do with more cleaning it was a bit smelly in our room when people were opening it.

Big bowls of fresh fruit. Flowers and trees. Great looking recycled wood walls. Seemed like a labor of love by an owner who never wanted to be embarrassed showing the place. Each pod was big compared to an ordinary hostel bunk bed. Diverse bunch of people getting along. Staff were friendly, helpful and cleaned a lot. Weather kept changing over 3 days so sometimes no one was around, sometimes a full house.Night noise wasn't bad using earplugs. Bus connections to LAX, union station, Santa Monica and beach, Walks to beach, coffee shops, restaurants (Urth Cafe, Holy Grail and Santa Monica Samosa House) and Abbot Kinney shopping. This is the first time I wasn't ill at ease feeling like Venice Beach was just a little too grungy a la Bukowski, and addicted.. My mother had a better attitude towards Venice Beach than I did. This trip I like it and I think staying at Pod was a big part of my attitude change.
Beds are high. Had to use rollator like a step ladder to get into bed and I am not especially short. Price.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The vibe was totally Venice beach. The location was perfect right near the canals, beach, transit, and restaurants within walking distance. I intend to stay here again during a future visit.
My expectations were met but two things could have been better. One, the restrooms and showers were small. A little more elbow room would have been nice. Two, there was at least one guest being loud and disruptive. I was not directly bothered but I sense that he made other guests uncomfortable. I feel for the staff who worked hard to make things comfortable for everyone.

Junior made me very welcome, even though it was evening. I had been let down by a prior Airbnb booking and was stranded, but Junior made sure I was settled in and comfortable. On top of that, there was a delightful evening concert that night under the stars, so it was a real blessing to this distressed traveller.
Guests leave the kitchen in a mess.

The vibe was good. I liked the ping pong table. The location was excellent. The staff gave us good recommendations as to where we shoiuld go to eat.
There was absolutely no privacy. Even a sheet hanging from the top to the bottom bunk was not allowed. They warn the guests of this policy before we sign up, but I didn't read about it.

Location was perfect! There is a bus stop right next door! (33 Santa Monica and downtown LA) People very helpful, and respectful! Beds are nice! Lights out at 10pm always worked - staff is here 24/7 and they are super nice
The quality of your stay also depends on your roommates. One day we had a couple which didn’t clean up after themselves- which is annoying and not fair to the other visitors

Lovely little hostel with plenty of space and lots of facilities. Staff were friendly and helpful and there is also a lovely big garden. Beach is also only a 5 min walk away which is really nice.
The pods for couples are a bit of a squish and there's no lockers to lock up your bits (or if there are we weren't told about them).
