Easy to get to just off of the main road into town. Karen greeted us warmly and explained everything we needed to know about the property as well as escorting us to our room. Stay was enjoyable in clean surroundings with adequate supplies of linens and personal soaps, shampoos, and conditioners. Bed was quite comfortable. I would definitely go back there in the future.

Overall the building could use some updating as the front door was a slight challenge to open. Sad to see that their on-site restaurant has been closed for quite a while and hope that it can be re-opened in the future.

Upon our arrival, Karen was exceptional. We had asked for an early check in and she was just finishing up our room when we arrived at 1PM. The room was a little outdated but spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The location was great, as we were there to see the eclipse. There was an open field, about a two minute walk, from the hotel which gave us a perfect place to view it. Pretty view of the snow covered Mt. Katahdin at the top of the street.

The bathroom was on the small side and it didn't have a towel rack to hang towels on. Door to enter the hotel was hard to open, but it did have a sign on it letting you know.

The staff is super friendly and helpful. You need to call the number on the door when you arrive - don’t let that put you off, they live close by and are there in minutes. Safe place, this is small town Maine at its best. I stayed here after a few hot and humid days at Baxter State Park. The air conditioning felt so good! There’s a mini fridge and coffee maker with tons of coffee in the room. Good showers, too. Comfy bed. Very happy with my stay.

My departure was delayed and i had begun to worry about how to access the room late at night. Was pleasantly surprised when Ms. April called. She kindly arranged entry and perhaps realizing I was driving also sent me text message with instructions. She also kindly let us check out a bit late so we could freshen up ahead of a 12 hr drive after last trip to Baxter. Clearly they appreciate their guests far more than average hotels. Room was very clean. Towels crisp white and thick, fresh (I think there were at least 3 sets of bath, hand and medium sized towels). Did not use but they provide hairdryer which is appreciated. There were multiple electrical sockets so can charge devices simultaneously. Bed linens was white and clean which gives peace of mind. Good pressure and temperature of shower. Bathtub was immaculate and water drains switfly. Liked the cloth hanger out in the open so damp jackets can dry out properly. Bed and pillows were comfortable and fluffy. AC was quiet. Close to AT Cafe that opens very early, there's also a big supermarket nearby. One of few places close enough to Baxter State Park and Katahdin Woods Water that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Couldn't ask for more!

Karen and April were both communicative and helpful and friendly before and during our stay. The location was perfect, a short walk into town or drive to Baxter State Park, the beds were very comfortable and the water in the shower was hot. I wish the main room had been open (too early in the season). It looked cozy, with the big fireplace made out of Maine beach stones.

It’s not a modern hotel with a lot of chargers. That’s not what we wanted for this trip. This was small town Maine at its best.

This is a very basic property with clean and comfortable rooms. Nothing fancy but everything that you need - fridge, microwave, clean shower, clean comfortable beds. Good air conditioner. Friendly and communicative staff, April was very helpful in facilitating our late check in.

It’s not very attractive from the outside but this is no reflection on how clean comfortable and convenient it is on the inside.

Karen, the staff member that I interacted with, was very cheerful, helpful, and pleasant. The room I stayed in was immaculate. The small size of the facility and the quiet was welcoming. Nice to have services such as a refrigerator and a microwave right in the room.

The selection of channels on the television left a little to be desired. I realize that it probably doesn't make sense to carry a premium channel load in an area with such tempting outdoor pursuits, but a bit of broadening of the selection would be nice.

This motel doesn't look like much from the outside -- we actually were a bit worried that it had closed down when we first drove up to the building -- but all of that is made up for by Jim's friendliness and eagerness to meet our needs and make sure we were comfortable. The room was more than sufficient, and Jim even arranged for a cot so our two teenagers didn't need to argue over who got more bed space. The Terrace was just what we needed -- a clean bed, a hot shower, convenient location.

Because the restaurant in the front of the building was closed when we were there it wasn't immediately obvious if the place was open or where we should go in. But the note on the door had all the info we needed.

Although this is an older motel it is VERY roomy, clean and free from smells I was expecting from hikers staying at this motel We actually found our room to be more then we expect from rooms when we travel (and we usually stay at courtyard or Marriott) and again, although older was in great shape and very comfortable

Outside needs some updating

I rated the actual hotel lower due to the fact that it needs some updating in many areas. The reason I rated excellent overall was due to APRIL. She is the nicest person I’ve met in a long time. She made sure we had all things we needed and went beyond what we expected to help us. She is the reason this place is a good place to stay.!!! She is awesome!

The beds weren’t super comfy, needs some updating but again APRIL made it worth while.!
