Lovely, well-maintained, historical building. Queen deluxe (2 beds) room was huge and unexpectedly had two bathrooms (only one with shower).

The bar was "temporarily" (perhaps indefinitely) closed. Despite its elegance, it felt a little desolate. That has more to do with the city than the hotel. It has so much beauty and potential. The room did not have central air. It had a portable AC unit and ceiling fans.

I liked the location. I like the beautiful main hotel building and it's high ceilings and historic design. The staff was incredibly friendly and professional.

I was not aware, when I booked, that I would be staying in the annex/Motel next to the main hotel. I wanted to be in the main hotel. I would have preferred to know before my arrival. Also, the outdoor lighting for the motel area was off. It was black as I was walking across the parking lot and up the stairwell. They, evidently, had not security staff to manage the drunk guests coming in at 2:00 am with the excessive shouting and foul language.

The woman who checked us in was extremely kind and helpful. She had suggestions for places to eat and chatted with us about the area. She gave me a toothbrush when I mentioned I was looking for a convenience store to buy one. We stayed in the motor inn part of the hotel. It was a little dated, but the room was clean and we had all the amenities that we required.

The doors to the rooms seem a little flimsy, but we had no issues during our stay and we didn't have any issues with loud neighbors.

It is a beautiful old hotel from when there was money in the town. So glad it was preserved. Free car park, no hassle, great off site breakfasts to be had walking distance. The attached bar was interesting and full of characters. Rooms aew small, but that is ok, Good hot water.

We got put in a back room because of a booking error. Would have liked a view. Not sure how many rooms were operating. Disappointed about that but otherwise nice place

I loved the history of the hotel and how the integrity of the original decor seems to still be a large part of the Finlen. Staff were so amazing and helpful throughout our stay. I also love how central of a location it is in Butte that we could walk to any of the restaurants and the farmers' market on Saturday was just down the street. The lounge at night in the lobby area was also a great place for a drink. So much fun! I would definitely stay there again on my next trip to Butte.

I can't stay there was anything I didn't particularly like about the Finlen. Because it's historic, some amenities are a little different like the A/C units. I was confused about "The Spa" at the Finlen, as it turned out not to be a spa but run by a permanent makeup artist for eyebrows, and I couldn't figure out how to get in touch with them about their services. The bathrooms are also a bit small in the rooms, but overall I loved being at the Finlen.

Old glory hotel straight out of a Wes Anderson movie. Fantastic aesthetic. The historic old town of Butte is a real trip: architecture from a bygone era, some abandoned and some reanimated. Room was clean, staff was nice, no complaints. Would wholeheartedly recommend checking out Butte and its history. Would stay in Finlen hotel again (the hotel, not the motel). Don't miss the impressive Granite Mountain Speculator Mine Memorial.

A bit pricey

Beautiful old hotel well maintained with old charm and modern touches. Loved my room actually. Small, but great bathroom, no complaints with the room.

Surprised an old hotel this large did not have a restaurant, really surprised! They had a big lounge, but that was it. They made a good recommendation for dinner about a block away, but even breakfast was an off site option only.

The location was absolutely fantastic, easy to find and a really cool view. Parking was easy to get to, and the building itself was absolutely gorgeous. The staff were incredible and went out of their way to welcome me and take care of me, especially after a long trip.

Parking was a little full, and I grabbed the last parking spot. I was also a little disappointed that the ice maker and 1/2 the vending machines on the 2nd floor were out of order when I visited.

Everything was beautiful very well kept hotel and great location. The lady at the fount desk made sure that we got a room with a view because that's important to me .And the bathroom was very clean you would not know it was an old hotel. Great stay will be back!!!!!!

Fascinated by Uptown history and extraordinary surviving architecture. It is unfortunate that so little activity/commerce is going on. We hope efforts to revive the neighborhood will ultimately happen/be successful.
